I used to pan for gold below Tibble Reservoir on the American Fork...and yes, there is gold dust to be found!!! Great vid that wasn’t a review!! Keep up the good work J!!! 👍🏻
I love road tripping to cool trails like that. All the routine local rides are to be prepared to go on those adventure rides. Your video quality is coming through great on TH-cam these days, watched this on the tv and it looked great clear and no compression artifact.
So cool. Would you mind explaining shock tuning. Curious what you look for when setting sag, rebound, low speed compression, etc. I’ve seen a few times where you notice the need for adjustment right away.
First rule for me setting up the bike is balance. Rule number 2, (after sag is set) set rebound as fast as possible without getting bucked around. Compression is next trying to find grip and support. I can usually get that right away and make small rebound adjustments from there.... this can all typically be done in my yard at my house. On my personal bikes that I own, I spend more time on trail with a small section of trail with variety that is easily repeatable.
Have to watch this one again!! I have a 2019 Carbon 90 BC, might get a 2021 when available and upgrade to the new XX-1 52 set-up or keep mine and get the new XX-1 52 for it?
I’m gonna be in SLC in late October scouting it out before we move in January - we own a condo in Solitude but those are the only trails in the area I’ve ridden. Got any recommendations for must do trails in the area, unless you’d rather show a one legged MTBer around. 😜
I had narrowed my new bike list down to the trail 429. And the new ripley. For slow tight rocky and roots trails that are up and down. Narrow and windy in western pa which one would you pick. Thanks for the great videos
Did you guys shuttle this or did you climb? Trying to figure it out via Trailforks, but it doesn’t, look like a loop. Looks like a ton of fun. What was your route, if you don’t mind me asking?
I was driving, and it was a shuttle, which is pretty typical for that ride. Your choices for riding it the whole way are limited. But I have done the grind up Mill Canyon, after the first steep section it actually gets to be a nice and easy climb through thick green forest with easy switchbacks. But once you get to Ridge 157 the link over to Tibble is a difficult trail, but I still like it. If I don't have a shuttle, I always ride it that way. The Trailforks map is accurate, I know, cause I am a developer for Trailforks and verified all the data there.
The knocking noise .... is it chain slap or the DPX2? I’m trying to narrow the same noise on my Instinct and getting frustrated with the it. Let me know if you found a solution. Thanks
Todd, I always where my helmet in the car when going mountain biking... not bad driving at all... it's just one less thing for me to have to carry or forget. If it's on my head, I've got it w me!
Bitchin' older video, lots of riding time! Jason, of all the bikes you've ridden - which one handled so awesomely that you felt most like you were *IN* it - instead of _ON_ it?
Great video really enjoyed this. Those trails look sick. Wow Utah has some great riding. Have to get out there some day.
Your buddies are excellent riders as well--beautiful scenery and challenging trails

Nice! So glad it's coming in clear!!! I actually really liked this video... even though it's not getting a lot of views so far.
Enjoyed the video. Was fun hearing your reaction after the creek crossings. hahaha
I believe the road to this trail is only open late-May to late-October.. correct me if I’m wrong! Great video.

Favorite DH route in AF Canyon: Tibble to Mud Springs. Such a riot!

@MTB Yumyum When do you test a Yeti SB140 ? Can't wait to hear your thought on that bike :)
soon!
Take Ridge Trail 157 to Mud Springs next time. Not better or more fun than Tibblefork. Just a different kind of fun.
cool, thanks!
Great scenery at the end, I like riding around lakes here, very scenic. That looked like a nice high end build, what was the cost?
It's the Carbon 90 model... around 7 or 8 grand... super nice build and bike!

I'd be happy to show you some trails. hit me up on instagram as the time gets closer! Love riding Solitude as well!
Yeahh boyyy!! Sweeet!

Thanks for the great videos
both excellent bikes. If you're a heavier guy, go with the T429... it's will feel more solid to you
Go to Trailflo and ride the Ibis. Take a look at the Instinct too
One of my favorite trails around!

check the link to my strava in the description below the video
MTB yumyum thanks!

I didnt want to say anything but was thinking special needs and the white helmet lol......before people start beating me up I enjoy his vids
ha ha, I didn't think my driving was that bad
Todd, I always where my helmet in the car when going mountain biking... not bad driving at all... it's just one less thing for me to have to carry or forget. If it's on my head, I've got it w me!
Do you find over longer rides the 27.5 tire not being as efficient? Or is it not even an issue?
no, it's not an issue... I love both wheel sizes.
how do you have your grip2 set up?
Bitchin' older video, lots of riding time! Jason, of all the bikes you've ridden - which one handled so awesomely that you felt most like you were *IN* it - instead of _ON_ it?
Ibis HD5, RM Altitude, current Stumpy Evo and Evil Offering
I think Bear trail looked better but maybe that's because you were riding the Ripmo
haha for sure!
You sped up the rebound, hs or ls?

Can someone send me the parking for this one please..!
