    I really like these longer videos with more in-depth explanations. There's so many variations of different shots and footwork techniques, and there are many videos on how to do them. But there's not enough videos like this explaining why/when you should use these variations.

    As always, Morten finds the right balance to explain his topic for the casual player to understand and for those players who are trying to develop their game further. Thank you so much for all your work on this channel, I'm always looking forward to the next one. *and kudos to Flemming as well 👍

    yes, essential point @1:45 that in addition to correct grip and pronation you need rotation flowing through hips and torso. this starts at the floor. so the footwork prep, stance, and push off from the floor are foundational to getting a high strike point, in front of your body, ultimately with a clean and easy transfer of energy to the shuttle that does not involve using arm strength. one way of looking at it is that a good clear does not use arm strength, but it does use leg strength, with all power coming up from the floor through the legs. just as in smash and drop, a jump can be helpful in getting a high and early strike point, and i find jump clears can be very disconcerting to opponents, breaking their rhythm and allowing an opening to control the rally. i also never see this discussed, but clears can also incorporate degrees of slice or reverse slice. these produce trajectory changes similar to 'drift' and can generate small errors in your opponent's reply

    Hi Coach! Could you please offer advice on how to control the offensive "punch" clear from going long of the back court? I love this shot, but tend to hit it out. Do you cut the shuttle on contact, etc? Thank you!

    • @chrisvo203
      @chrisvo203 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i dont think you need to cut it at all, just use less power, preferably at the last moment to make it more deceptive

    Tell me please, which part of the racket should be used the head or the centre? In this type of shot and in the other ones like smash. And why is it difficult for ladies to use a clear shot? What muscles should a lady develop to give a good clear shot? At which moment the handle should be pressed by the wrist for more hit power?

    • @KSPSPORTS123

      Center part of racket should be used in both clear and smash. Ladies generally don't have problem in clear but they are little bit slow that you should practice and also you should devlop a good or a very good arm swing for clear and smash.

    Do we need to put the racket leg in front after we hit the shuttle

    • @Basicfeather
      @Basicfeather  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes if you choose to do the rotation as explained at the end of the video. If you do not use the scissor jump, then you don’t have to ☺️

    I almost always use the high clear to reset the rally

    • @Basicfeather
      @Basicfeather  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s definitely also more used than the offensive clear. The offensive clear you only use when you’re opponent is a bit more under pressure maybe even out of balance
