Hey, Kell. First-time visitor -- liked and subscribed. IDK, man. I've had my Motif ES6 since 2004 and - to me - it's one of those keyboards that I just want to own forever. I also bought 2 add'l sound cards for it, giving is some additional sounds. Now, I added a Kronos 2 61 in 2017 and a couple more Korg keyboards (super lightweight Krome 61 for rehearsals/light gigs, and a Korg SV-1 for playing jazz gigs - that RH-3 keybed, to me, is just so nice for playing jazz). And, the Kronos and SV-1 are 2 more keyboards that I never want to part with. About 15 years ago, I let go of my Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 rev. 3.3 and my Rhodes 72 Stage (which had GREAT key action), and I'm only sorry about selling the Prophet. I never thought I'd get back into synthesis, but I was wrong! So, that said, I've been a regular Arturia Vintage Collection user and have added some of their one-off instruments to my collection as well. It's a killer way to go, esp. since you're getting into sound design. Arturia, for many of those vintage instruments, has added more features to them that they never originally had, too, so even more powerful. I look forward to learning about your journey into synthesizer sound design. After I retire next summer, I'm going to have a lot of time to figure all of that stuff out! :-) Cheers, man!
The ES8 has sound design capabilities through the waveforms and elements through the awm2 engine. The MONTAGE now showcases that side upfront, but it is old technology made to look new. Performance MODE is not the only way to make sounds on the ES, FYI. Once I discovered it through reading the OWNER's manual it became a brand new board for me. A keyboard suggestion for you would be the MONTAGE M8X.
I’ve been peeping the Kurzweil SP7 in the last week or so. I actually like arranger keyboard and it might be a nice cross for me. Still trying decided if I should keep what I have.
HEY KELL. I still have my MO6 which is the ES set MM6 Classic set MX49 XS set and the MOXF 6 which is my XF set. I wont ever i mea evvveeeer get rid of my gear. Of course i Have Hammond,Korg,Roland and Casio and Kurzweil in my mix. 16 boards total. Nope aint parting my Roland JV and JX will do all the sine waves i want
Talking about this sounded like therapy for you getting over getting rid of the board you obviously loved and journeyed with. Hope you feel better now you talked about it🤣 Can’t wait to find out which keyboard you’re gonna go for next🤔 I reckon the Nord stage 4 or The mighty Montage M8X 88 key?
Kell did say that he’ll give up his Motif ES8 in order for him to get himself the Montage M8X so maybe he’s pulling the trigger but trying to keep it under wraps
I own a nord electro 6d and i had a yamaha mx61, korg krome, roland jund ds61, and a yamaha ck88 and now to my surprise i bought a casio pxs 3100 and its the best out of all of them except my nord nothing campares to nord but i said all that to say you might be surprise if you test out casio lol we have a motif es8 at my 8am i hate playing it especially after playing my nord
its a great keyboard no menu diving everything is in front of you!!!! You would love it over the Es8 it just wasn’t the sound I was looking for but it sounds good thou
yup, give it a few years and they’ll be locking these new models if you don’t update. These boards will last forever if you take care of them. And man, that customization had me crying xs tears, blasphemous 😂
I used the same sounds on my Yamaha MO8 before I sold. I had my MO8 for 17 years!!!!

That’s the reason why I love my JupiterX. But Sequential PhophetX and 8Dio built in flash drive is my radar.

@@marchangel7462 Plug n play if u have a Macbook....If U have a PC (Windows)...yeah u have to download Yamaha Steinberg usb driver.
If you're looking for synthesis, then you GOTTA get the Nord Wave. it's FIRE. Our aux player uses it and it sounds PHENOMENAL in a mix.
Rather get a Stage 4 it has the Wave 2 engine in it.
