Excellent footage! If memory serves, PCC streetcars are still operating in San Francisco, though I don’t know how many are actually in service.
It’s also nice to see the many modes of transportation that coexisted in the same city. I loved seeing a combination of electric trolleybuses, streetcars, and diesel buses. I think I saw some trams, too. (-:

Hope you are doing well 🙏
Video can sometimes be a very powerful medium as you are forced to reflect how a city has changed (for good or bad). To see Market Street with all that vehicle traffic is shocking as time passes so quickly. As I begin to wrap up my time living in California, I am grateful to have experienced the uniqueness of the city on the bay. Thanks Brad for your ongoing interest and coverage of all things transportation. It shaped my thinking about travel and public transportation and informed where my next home will be (lots of high speed trains, trams, and ships 🚄🚊🛳)

This was before the subway was open 7 days a week in late 1982. When the subway only operated on weekdays. The rest of the time the PCC cars ran on Market and turned onto Duboce by Safeway and the gas station. The J/K/L/M turned onto Church from Duboce where the funeral home was,the N went straight on Duboce. My dad used to live on Duboce & Noe next to Duboce Park(at 10:04),so I rode the N and 22 quite a bit when we would come to visit him in SF. Lots of familiar locations. Sadly most of them are long gone.

How come they let the backs of the streetcars get so dirty?
