I am planning my maiden trip from delhi to leh via srinagar and return via manali during 24-June to 4-July with my wife, do you think the roads will be open throughout and safe for travel (without curfew). Planning the trip on a rented thunderbird 350cc, hope the trip will be comfortable on the bike.

+Rakesh .. yes it's ok for leh trip with a pillion ... but bike condition should be proper and ur mindset too . Kyoki thodi bhaut dikkat to sabhi bikes ko ati hai .. 2 members ko thodi jayada .. as much depends upon bike/driving skills and Terrain condition too

No, u need to take along permit papers of walky talkie when issued to purchase them .... without papers if checked at any post it will be a big trouble
Very informative for first timers going to Leh, Ladakh trip. I want to know whether we should wear Trekking Shoes during our trip or any canvas shoes will do? We are trekkers and have done Buran Ghati trek last year and we need not have to buy these shoes. We will be flying to Leh on 25th June and back on 2nd July. We are doing this trip with Cox and Kings from Mumbai.

+Sunil भाई में दो जन को १२५ cc bike पर जाने की सलाह नहीं दे सकता ... बहुत ही ज़्यादा दिक़्क़त वाली बात होगी .. और सही तजुरबे की वजह से तो में १२५ cc की scooty पर जा रहा हु . जब सही तजुरबा होगा जब ही सही राय दे सकता है इंसान .... नहीं तो धोके , ड्रामे या झूठे दिखावे वाली बात होती है

Day 2: pangong lake -
Day 3:-leh- khardungla -diskit -Hundar(Nubra)
Day 4- Nubra to leh
Day 5: leh- Pathar sahib Gurudwara-Kargil - leh
Day 6: Back to Normal Life

Hi Sunny! I also planning to go to Leh-Ladakh in September for 10 days. We will hire hike fom Manali and will return from the same route. Many people are saying that if we hire bike from Manali then they will not give permit for J&K and also you can't take rented self drive vehicles to Nubra Valley and Khardungla And what will be the road conditions in September 1st week. Hoping to hear from you soon.
+Manan U can only take Manali rented bikes upto leh , then for leh sightseeing u have to hire another bike from Leh itself ,... and roads conditions in Sep will be perfect

I have now mentioned the tent and sleeping bag I carry for myself ... purchase the best one as these are life saviour . Mattress ki shop se koi bhi Matt le Lena as such which is used in AC pipes .. thermoinsulator type .. black colour me hote hai .. cheap and best

very helpful video Sir.....Hello Sir.....I have few questions regarding leh trip,I am from patna now in patna they are giving temporary number when I purchased a new bike last month and they said they will give me permanent number within 15 days but now Dto patna is not providing permanent number and my concern is that if they don't provide the no till June can I go to leh with temporary no they have given me challan receipt....I have Bill , insurance paper and challan(tax) receipt
+RAHUL Temporary number is just for state , if you cross your vehicle with temporary number you will e fined and even when you will try to get permission for leh you won't get it on temporary number ... so firstly get the permanent no. And then go to leh

i am changing my plan actually .... my original plan was : patnitop-sonamarg-kargil-leh-Nubra-Pangong Lake-Tso Moriri-Sarch-Manali-Delhi ......................... now i am going thru Manali to Leh and following same route due to tension in Kashmir valley. earlier i thought i could take Simla-Kaza route.....but i learnt that this is more tiresome and longer route.
i am starting my trip from June 9th until June 25th

If oxygen levels are low so wat precautions we should carry
+Gouthami Keep camphor/कपूर with you it is the purest form of oxygen .. you even gets a oxygen cylinder I leh costing around 400-500rs .. so whenever feels low oxygen just keep camphor in hanky or hand and keep it close to nose and breath .. that will balance oxygen level in body .

I did a Leh trip last year and one thing that helped me a lot is BOPP tape. It helped me from proofing my shoes from water.
