Still doable. Roads are good. I did Leh to Ramban 578km on a single day, along with my friends. However, didn't visit Lamayuru monastery, but spent a great amount of time in kargil war museum. Was lucky enough to attend the speech on how the kargil war went on, from an officer. I think, that speech happens only for 2-3 times a day. Reached Srinagar after dark. Srinagar was closed that day and had to by-pass srinagar. Also had rain on the way.

I found Shyok route very great. And your are right, that is different and as compared to other roads the traffic was least. However, roads are better than Khardung La except two major water crossing. They were building a bridge over one of it in 2018. May be completed by now.

To be honest whenever I go for a ride I do not book hotels in advance I just go and see what I can get . it works for me ..... but in Leh there are many many hotels and home stays you always find a place to stay :)... Srinagar to leh is not 283 km. Srinagar to kargil is 203 km and from kargil to leh is 212 km. Concluding all Srinagar to leh is must be around 400 km or more than that.... Plz let me know if I am wrong.
yeah there is ... But I think Shyok is more adventurous if someone has that taste :) and that is around 75 Kms more than Shyok one and you do not have to do Chang La twice if you go Via Shyok.

If you go to Leh from Srinagar side it will be more comfortable as road are mostly good..... only tough part will be Zojjila.

there are chances they will be open but not sure... even sometimes they are open for 4 wheelers due to snow but you never know

People go on 100 CC bike also.... just make sure your bike is in good condition..... try not to run bike on extreme high rpms for very long time....
