- How to fix a surging inverter generator well check this first this turned out to be something super simple and easy and this is super common on all small engines check the gaskets and make sure they are not destroy and are still good will save you time and money. This inverter is a Pulsar Brand and its actually not that bad of a generator.

I've heard that sound before but didn't know what was wrong. Oh yea I love Harbor Freight also. If there's a lot to take off I usually have bolts left over Lol. Wow that is really quiet and runs smooth. You would use that brush set a lot more than I would. That is awesome a little problem can sound like a big problem. Always learning from you Andrew. Man you are almost at 1K you'll get there shortly brother.
If you ever do need to pull the carb out of this thing please make a video! Limited resources on this make/model out there and your expertise would certainly be welcome! Thanks for posting your fix!

For anyone else landing on this page and needing further disassembly instructions, this appears to be a Generac 2200i clone. Found a few videos on TH-cam that helped guide me through disassembly/carb removal.

Always worth throwong out the no name chinese spark plug and install an NGK or Champion... That was a cause of my new Westinghouse igen2500 surging

a little valve grinding compound on the end of your screw driver will help not to strip the screws

What could have caused the damage to that gasket? It seems like someone must have taken it apart before and broke it. is the only thing I could think of?

I have that same generator since 3 years already but I dont use it too much and now it turns on the overload light without connecting any device, if anyone knows something pls let me know
Oil valves are Carburetor check those
I have a similar General PG1200i and it surges a bit when choke lever is fully set to run… when lever is moved 1/2 way between choke & run it runs smooth (so maybe too much air getting in). I’ve cleaned the carb/jets/etc and it’s fairly new so it just seems like too much air. I’ve adjusted the idle also to get it to react when you hit economy button (if idle is set too high, the economy switch does nothing). Any advice on possible surging issue …
Where did you purchase the gasket? Was it the gasket where the intake connects to the carb or where the carb connects to the engine?

I would say gaskets gas or carburetor problem I don't have the machine anymore
Do yourself a favor brother & buy a Half Sheet Pan to set that generator on instead of running it on the dirt ;)

Best advice! I was using a square foam flooring piece (the ones for exercise rooms) but your idea is genius. The pan is also great for transporting in case of leaks and sand falling off gen during transport.
Three power lines went down and two transformers and I bought this generator and had one week use and a year later after this Sacramento storm…. I pulled it out and it won’t start and the red light says overload. Help! Well my phone needs charging

yo: i fixed my generator by checking the fuel cap switch was "off" accidentally and needed to be selected to "on", simple as, problem fixed.
