This is the kind of video that should be raking more than a million views ✨ excellent, and as usual favorite ko pdn ung coffee beans po and the eye thingy effect hahaha awesome!! (as usual)
Nice video. I use a 28mm macro tube (no autofocus) with my 50mm manual focus prime lens to scan my 35mm slides at about 3" away. I find that the manual focus on my 50mm does not work as well with the macro tube. In order to focus, I have to move the lens toward/away from the subject by a few millimeters. Using a high f stop and lots of light is very important to improve depth of focus.
that's exactly how it works james! 😊 I just got into film recently and I'm planning to do the same thing actually! might be an interesting topic for a video! :D
I have the sony a6700 with many lenses. I tried the meike 10mm, 16mm, and both together. With the 11mm sony lensi was literally within 1cm, so no good; with the 30mm sigma, no good either. I'll try it with perhaps the 18-135 to see if zooming up and down may be better. Honestly, I think that you MAY be better off just getting a wider lens (sony 11mm, which I now have). It gets very close to the subject (about 15cm) and is a sharp lens. I'll keep trying, and am open to suggestions.
Hey! Thanks for this great video. I'm very new to professional videography so this was hugely helpful. I did notice the Orient Bambino in the macro shots though so I'm very impressed with your choice of watch too 😂⌚
hey Sujeesh! thanks for the kind words! I think so! the only "rule" is to make sure the the focal length is longer than the tube you're using. for example, if i combine the 10mm and 16mm extension tubes, it'll total to 26mm, so it won't have any problems on a 55mm lens. hope this helps!
Hey Eduardo! it definitely does! the only "rule" to these macro tubes is that they have to be less than the focal length of the lens you use. so a 10mm tube on a 16mm lens is workable, but the 16mm tube will render the sigma 16 useless. hope this helps man!
Hi Justin , like your video alot just wondering. I have sony a6400 and a sigma 16 is this extension manage to bring best maceo shoot with that gear? Appreciate your advice
hey man! as far as i know, the only real rule is don't use the same focal length as the tube. It has to be less. so you can't use a 16mm lens on a 16mm tube.
Thanks Justin for the . It helps a lot to understand how it works . One small question . Do you have faced any challenge where you want to switch to Macro Lense from there in video specially ?
@@LemPotography wow f1.2! ♥️ Good luck! The only "rule" about these tubes are that the lens focal length has to be greater than the tubes! So for example, you won't be able to use a 16mm tube on a 16mm lens bec focusing will be impossible!😁👍

Hello so does this decrease the minimun focus distance of a lense ? Like for example I have a 45-150mm lens with a minimum focus distance of .94m How much will it decrease the focus distance? Been looking for solutions to decrease this eversince I got a camera 😅
Bro, if I attached ext tube, can I still use the lens as normal? No issue with auto focus or whatsoever? I have small room, minsan hassle yung pag focus due to minimum distance. So need ko lng makalapit ng konti yung camera sa subject, not to macro close level. But im afraid magka issue sa focusing in video mode.
hey man! The AF works both for photo and video since the tubes have electronic contact points. Pero di magwowork ung lens normally meaning, it won't focus sa normal distance that you use it with. you'll need to be closer to the subject. hope this answers your question! :)
Bro I have sony A7 then ang lens ko is Canon Sigma 18-200efs, bali ginamitan ko ng viltrox adapter para gumana. Gagana kaya to kahit naka adapter ako? Thanks

I am planning to do this on my 35mm films. Do you recommend to use extension tubes or just buy a dedicated macro lens? (Not a hardcore photog)
I have them and they are great. Macros lenses are just a money grab 857th sub. :-)
Hey man! thanks for watching! yeah! honestly, I love these extension tubes!
Husay! Quality content!

Hey sky! Yup! You can use the 10mm tube but not the 16mm. Only “rule” is the tube has to be shorter than the focal length of the lens! Goodluck!
Great review! I think I need one for shooting product 😻 I can use it for 28mm and 50mm yes?
Hi Ogie! Thanks! Yeah! You can! :)
Hi justin just want to ask that, what "Profile Picture "do you use for your vlog?
I used HLG3 here! 😄
hi, what lens u ar using for this tube? and what best lens focal length for this macro tube?
hey man! as far as i know, the only real rule is don't use the same focal length as the tube. It has to be less. so you can't use a 16mm lens on a 16mm tube.
I’ve been doing photography a lot ever since college (since 2008) but I have never bought a separate lens haha ever HAHA AWESOME VID BROTHER!!!
Haha! I can't promise I won't buy a separate macro lens tho! 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Does.it make.the manual focus lens do auto focus?
Sir, I use the manual Sony Mirrorless Extension Tube, I tried but the F (Aperture) error. I'm using a Sony a5100, can you help?

If you use manual lens, does it make the manual into auto focus?

Yup! It will get you closer to your subject, but you also won’t be able to focus normally with the lens from further away. Hope this helps!
SOOO..... GOOD!

will sharpness compromise when using this tube?
@@romelhyn this won‘t because it‘s just a dummy adapter. There are no optics between the lens and the sensor. 😊
