Neat video and nice chair. Though I am surprised he didn't ease the front of the chair or something. I was surprised to see finishing come at that point. Seems that would be uncomfortable on the back of the legs for such a deep chair.

Very nice chair, easy entry point for someone to make. I like the design and the simplicity of the build. Chairs can be hard to make, this makes it approachable for beginners. The joints could be backed up with dowels or if you have a domino just use domino joints, but that is not the point of the video.
@ 15:27 the drill bits shown twist opposite to what I am accustomed to. Is this common in Austria?
wunderbar!!! I love it! I have a current bandsaw, but I like the capabilities you have added. I wonder if you would consider adding another component and setting up an attachment for the band saw to be used in the manner of a pin router to facilitate pattern cutting to aid in the speed of manufacturing. I would be very interested to see if this could be added on and if so I would like to test it. I am a chair maker in Oregon USA and I am very interested to work with you to develop this setup. How many board feet of 8/4 material would be needed?
I miss the joints. Using only one screw with butt joints for all the legs seems to be a very weak joint. At least dowels should have been used. It will break apart in a very short time.
Yes a big dowel and construction glue.
These are looking chairs they're not sitting chairs you build them stick them in a corner and watch them

I'd like to do this chair aided by the pantorouter. That would be a solid work of art.
Look up the Maloof joint, this is basically a dumbed down version of that. The Maloof joint has sort of a groove in it, which makes it slide on and provide support, which will last for a long time. This is the lazy version of that.

How much Weight the chair can support?
At 28:45-30:45 is that just a big box store sponge or is it a special type of sponge? I really like the idea .

Yeah nice chair but you ruined it using screws would be nice to see joints
If the idea is to promote that bandsaw, it's great. If the idea is to make a chair, it's way too much trouble. Using proper tools would save time and quite possibly a few fingers.

Very irritating musac, so I never finished, but wht the mdf template, why not just use the paper pattern, maybe print it on cardstock.

There must be an easier way to make a chair
For this type of chair: not really. I mean, he could have used a power jointer/planer for some of the steps, but it's still a bunch of bandsaw work regardless.
If you search for "Sam Maloof Chair" here and elsewhere, you'll see other ways to make similar chairs.
Such a product is spoiled 😟 screws on the need to spike, but the longer the better

Спасибо за Ваш комментарий! Подлокотники сделаны из нескольких выпиленных и склеенных частей без загибания (Поскольку образуется определенный радиус). Вы можете это увидеть на 11:40 минуте. На 26:44 минуте Вы можете увидеть, как при помощи ручного инструмента устраняется последняя шероховатость. Точные размеры деталей Вы можете найти в руководстве по ссылке в описании видео.
