You did a great job with that table! As someone who is also participating in the Rockler try that challenge, I'm a bit intimidated! Still working on my own project and hope to have the video posted within the week. So many things going wrong! It is great that Rockler teamed up with Chris and Shawn to do this challenge, prompting so many of us to push our comfort zones and try new things! Once again, great job and good luck in the competition! I hope you secure second place! 😉
Thanks!! It’s a cool challenge for sure.. glad I got my build finished in time. I wouldn’t be too upset with second place! 😆
No need to feel uncertain about yourself, your work is Mastercraft
Thank you! 🙏🏻
AMAZING !! wow stunning job you inspire me ! I’m not even a quarter of the wood worker as you and I am a long way from building something as amazing as your table! I have to say your videos are really awesome because I want to watch them all and see what else you’ve done !
Thanks for watching and the kind words! This table is one of my favorite builds I’ve done so far! 👍🏻
At least you did your project , I have been there I hated waiting to do a project and postpone 🤷 , thanks for sharing and enjoy woodworking 😊.
Thanks for watching! I’ve been there many times before! 😆
Absolutely awesome. Great job. Greetings from Johannesburg South Africa.
Thanks Darrel!
Wow! That thing is beautiful! You should be very proud of yourself!
Thanks Nikki! Really happy with this one!
Amazing work mate, it gave me a twist when you started cutting the top round 😂
Thanks! Gotta keep everyone guessing haha
Harbor freight sales an automotive sander that’s a life saver for those spindle bases. I have nearly every Festool sander there is but the harbor freight is my go to sander for spindle bases. Beautiful Table.
Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check that out! Sanding the curves isn’t much fun 😆
Good job very nice 32 year veteran in wood works
Thanks Mike!
Have no idea why your channel took so long to get reckomended to me. Glad it finally did though.
And just in time I see.
Started binchwatching your videos and all I can say is that I'm glad you bought the bandsaw, so you wil get a lot more content out.
Hope the contest get you some traffic to your channel as well.
The algorithm finally got you, haha! Thanks though! I have lots of plans to put the bandsaw to use soon!
Wow the table looks amazing great job and thanks for sharing. As a new woodworker myself it gives me hope that I will get better at this as time goes on. Keep up the great work
Thanks Jim! It’s been a long process to get to this point for sure 👍🏻
Love the table! It's a beautiful piece that would add to any environment. Love the honesty within the video. All of the "hobbies" people have outside of work can have lots of barriers that most times people online don't portray.
Thanks! The hobby comment is certainly relatable 👍🏻
That turned out great. A pedestal table is also on my woodworking bucket list.
Thanks! Worth a shot for sure! 👍🏻
Awesome job sir, first time I have seen one of your videos, very well done
Thanks Adam! 🙏🏻👍🏻
I like this video. Investments definitely paying off. 😀
Thanks man! Agree with ya - 100% worth it!
Loved the video my friend, excellent work. Also, the table :)
Appreciate your feedback Geoff! 👍🏻🤜🏻
Hopefully you continue on with your channel. I enjoy it.
Thanks! Planning to push the channel as hard as possible! 👍🏻💪🏻
@@mmcc_woodshop6288 awesome. You mentioned not knowing if you wanted to purchase something because not knowing where you wanted to go.
The pedestal base turned out great. Fantastic craftsmanship.
Thank you! 🙏🏻
So awesome, just started woodworking this year with zero prior experience. I’ve been getting uncomfortable with my recent projects but when I’m done it’s so worth it! Love the vid!
Thanks! Getting better is all about getting out of the comfort zone! 👍🏻
You didn't do a good job, you did a fantastic job. That's a beautiful piece of furniture. Hope to see more builds like this from you in the future.
Thank you! Several more pieces currently in the works 👍🏻
Thank you for the positive motivation. My life has gotten a little of track.
The table is fab. Kudos to you!
May your heart and soul always be filled with Divine love and light.
Thank you!
Thank you, appreciate the kind words… same to you! 🙏🏻👍🏻
That was splendid! Sugar maple is an iconic tree where I’m from (Québec), and I find maple in general is not used often enough in woodworking videos. The grain is superb and the wood is incredibly hard, it truly makes great furniture!
Thanks for the awesome video!
Thanks for watching! This was actually my first time every using maple other than some cutting boards awhile back
Man that is a beast of a table. Truly a work of art. Awesome video!
Thanks Bryan! 👍🏻
First video I watch from your channel. Earned my subscription! Anyone who challenges their skills is a winner in my books
Thanks! This one was definitely a challenge!
Awesome video mate! Love the narration
Thanks man! Appreciate the feedback!
You did good it looks great. Nice voice over too
Thanks Bradley!
Well done sir! Well done!
Thanks Bailey! 🙏🏻
Beautiful. Great skills, and very good choice on the band saw!
Thanks! The bandsaw was way overdue! 👍🏻
That turned out really nice. Beautiful work
Thank you!
Very nice peace, thank you for sharing.
Thanks Hicham!
Wow. Beautiful... you have talent....
Thank you!! 🙏🏻
That was a great video and a very interesting build . The back story to this was awesome and makes me want to get out of my comfort zone . I’ve decided awhile back to get on the festool line , yes it was extremely expensive (and still is lol)especially as wood working isn’t my real job but a hobby . I did it as a investment for myself down the road as these tools seem to last a long time but what I’m trying to say is I can’t blame the tools it’s just myself that’s holding back and not being able to get over fears of doing more and being creative. This video helped a lot with that Matt , and I appreciate you sharing your journey as it’s been always inspiring since I’ve started following you. 🤟
Appreciate the kind words Rob! It’s a journey for sure.. welcome to the rabbit hole haha. Thanks for watching and your feedback!
Amazing job
Thanks!
It’s beautiful!! 😍 great job!!!
Thanks Jenifer!!
Great video and the table looks amazing. You have definitely upped your skill level
Thanks David!!
You did a great job!!!
Thanks Stephanie!
Great video and work on the table!
Thanks Brett!
I loved it.
Thanks Brad!
What a nice honest video. Sorry to see though that you put in so much effort in such a boorish design. Nice execution!
Thanks for watching and the feedback!
They make things called hand planes!
They sure do! 👍🏻
It has to weigh a ton. Very nice.
Thanks! Estimating this one to weight about 250-300lbs 😅
Curious why you didn’t make you relief cuts first for the bandsaw curved cuts
Just a lack of experience with the bandsaw, wasn’t sure if relief cuts were necessary
In India this table made by our artist with one hammer and chisel
That would be awesome to see!
Relief cut?
Yeah, likely should have. I have no bandsaw experience whatsoever, so I wasn’t sure if they were needed
Practice on scrap wood, DA.
👍🏻👍🏻
ever heard of a dado stack. sounds a little disingenuous complaining about the cost of a bandsaw when you're in a workshop surrounded by expensive equipment.
Yep, my dado stack is only 8”, so it wouldn’t extend high enough to cut out the full half lap 👍🏻
Generic, not complicated, looks like anyone can do it, without putting any effort into it.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Great job
Thanks Willie!
