JVN On Bisexuality and What He Wishes For Our Mothers

Netflix's Queer Eye star, Jonathan Van Ness sits down with our U Up? hosts Jordana Abraham and comedian Jared Freid to talk sexuality and fluidity in 2019 through a listener who wrote in to ask about her first initial attraction to a woman when she's only been dating men for her first 24 years. JVN replies that this is what he's always wanted for his mother, to have a Bridges of Madison County affair and be able to explore her bi or pansexuality. JVN gets insightful when he talks about what he wishes for his mother is probably also what his mother hopes for him. He also gets into how bi and pansexuality really is a sexual orientation and that if you're feeling those urges you shouldn't hesitate to explore that, starting slow with something like coffee and then moving onto things that are more intense.
JVN teaches Jared the differences in heterosexual and other orientation dating and how people on the LGBTQ spectrum don't have the privilege of people knowing automatically they're into them and his "forearm" test to test the waters of whether or not someone is into him.
Jordana and Jared then get into JVN's various red flags and deal breakers, like someone who brushes their teeth four times a day, someone who uses a cardboard box as a TV stand, and then there's a quick change when JVN starts talking Jared's sexual preferences.
