This may be the best looking Kickstarter watch I've seen. You can tell the designer has thought it completely through - unique case design, indexes, strap, and lume. I'm not a purple fan, but this one looks great.
I jumped on this one immediately for the dlc neo tokyo (purple) with the kickstarter. So unique, clean, and cool looking. It's rough that it isn't projected to ship until November but I'm hyped for it to show up. Thank you for the great camera shots and angles
You know what I was thinking the other day that casio should make a automatic version of a g shock square, this looks almost like I would immagine it, love it
Lucky to get one of the 50 "super early bird" watches. I chose the Neo Tokyo non-dlc bead blasted. Something you should've mentioned is the bracelet option, the nylon strap option, as well as voting underway for a new dial color. One of white, cherry blossom, or neo tokyo Kanji.
Just started following your channel...I really like your delivery....not over the top and I was not aware of this brand....I hope they come out with another release of the blue watch face. Gorgeous watch.
Hi Dave. Hope you have got your choice of the Okami. I got mine a few days ago in NZ & apart from DHL leaving it in the letterbox sometime after 7pm !! it is great. 3 straps & the watch itself (DLC, Neo Tokyo with Kanji dial) is pretty true to the prototypes you & Jodi got as far as I can tell. I have a smaller wrist & despite the scary measurements it wears very well. I hope you will do a review of your production version or at least a short update. Have a great Xmas if you are in Japan despite the lack of any holiday days.
Jumped on this last week on Kickstarter at the mid price $449. I'm normally a 40mm+ guy but the shape n size of this is very close to my favourite GShock [GBX 100 = 38wide x 35high stainless bezel and 46wide including the wings]. My only problem on Kickstarter in the past was ME - choosing the wrong option so this time I've gone crazy and ticked all the additional options except the white rubber strap. I will be choosing Turbo Blue as my dial later on. This will be my first clunky one-way Miyota auto.
It would have been fun to see the Neo Tokyo in vibrant red with a little blue (colors from the movie "Akira") to really lean into anime/futuristic/sci-fi vibe. However, that purple is sharp.
Got in as a Super Early Bird! I submitted my stuff 10 seconds in when the counter was at 2 and my confirmation was #16. These went FAST. The whole project was fully funded in 20 minutes. Really praying we hit that stretch goal for the bracelet.
Hello and thanks for this video. I love microbrands and noticed Namica with their first watch. And even if I'm not a huge fan of divers, I really appreciated it with its so clean and minimal look. So here it is, their second watch, with nearly the same spirit, based on minimalism, colors and rather huge indicies. Unfortunately, its difficult to know what this one is supposed to be for. Is it some kind of GADA, supposed to be used as an everyday watch? Is it, due to the barely squared shape, a dress watch? Is it just, because of the colors - and especially the blue and the violet one - some kind of fun watch? Hard to figure out. Thus, i'll wait for their third watch, if there is one.
I was wondering what too buy next. I already have 4 divers from the Japanese greats and cant really do better than them but this watch looks really damn special! Start saving for this guy 😊
It’s a very cool watch. I don’t think I personally have the patience for a kickstarter; although they clearly have enough people who are. Again. Very cool watch. Thanks!
I'm interested in hearing and learning about other unknown and obscure Japanese watch brands such as this one. I'm tired of hearing about the same few Japanese brands over and over and over again endlessly. Do you think you could do some more videos about such watches? Thanks
The Kurayami does look like a dress watch. Ironically it is probably better worn in daylight hours, minus the shades. Good design and color schemes overall. IMO
I'm really liking the blue dialed one, a big shame it's an automatic movement though. It would have looked better with it having a black dlc coated case. Would I buy one? Hell no, not worth it's price - especially from a kickstarter campaign.
Wish this is more affordable than giant company watch maker. At $4xx, I wonder if they were even sincere in trying to spread the joy in watch collecting. Not saying they shouldn't gain profits but wish they were in a win-win situation. I wonder how much clean profit they've gained.
From what I've observed with micros, a lot of 'em typically don't charge enough and prob disappear from the scene quickly as a result. Pretty fair for the specs I'd say.

Great review that blue is so popping. Really cool watch

The blue dial is awsome

Love the look of these, especially the blue variant. Very unique but in a familiar, accessible way.

Excellent watch design. It almost has a TV style look to it. Fantastic video Dave!
I’m going to Japan. I’m using your channel to make a shopping list!!!
Like you said, a very cool watch, and a terrific, well balanced review. Love your work! Thanks.

I love all of the colors, I don’t know which one I’d choose
That's a rather nice looking watch. The purple one could be called "Future Noir".....like something Deckard would wear.
Love Bladerunner. I had to look it up. He wears a Microma digital. I find watches in movies to be interesting.
The purple pvd one looks cool
Luv at first sight.Got a Kurayami without hestitation.Hope Cherry Blossom will be able to push out
Its a good looking watch.i like the contrast of colours

Great review as always but when is the Shellback V2 review coming? @justthewatch
It’s a very cool watch. I don’t think I personally have the patience for a kickstarter; although they clearly have enough people who are. Again. Very cool watch. Thanks!
Thank you for your review of these. They are great looking watches.
Just watched I like these. So different. That black one my choice
Definitely getting Casio vibes from this watch. Great find!
Great watches down that kickstarter is over. Do you have a discount code we can use?
What is your thoughts on JDM SEIKO SBTR017 and other watches in same series.
First impression. It reminds me of Casio's G-Shock DW-5600 and their iconic beater, F-91. However, that high price tag will keep most people away.
Very nice clean and different look👍 won’t appeal to most but it’s very cool 😎
I'm in for a Neo Tokyo and the bracelet.
Interesting design, thanks for sharing

I'm liking this.
Fantastic Brand 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Good design and color schemes overall. IMO
This would look amazing on a bracelet
A bracelet is available for about $125. Too bad they didn't include it in the review samples!
👍👍👍 Nice Watch and Elegant Watch 👍👍👍
Watches are just ok for me but the video was well done as usual
Put a date on them please
Cool! Keep it up!
I do have to ask:
What are you doing that requires precision second timing in the dark and why aren't you using a GShock for it? 😂
Silence you!
It's a bummer that there isn't even a date complication option for that price. 😑
Micros have been blah last year or two for me, great values, but it is hard to keep innovating style, but this one is different, nice product.
Looks like a metal G-shock square analog.
looks like a D1 Milano
Similar but also quite different. It is wider, and the d1 has that sloped wing effect on 4 sides. And the d1 has a date function.
Oh, I hate myself. I only found out about this by somebody saying they're expecting theirs to ship now.
It looks like a Maen watch.
Man I really love the design but its a bit off putting how wide the watch looks. I wish a bit closer to square
I'm really liking the blue dialed one, a big shame it's an automatic movement though.
It would have looked better with it having a black dlc coated case.
Would I buy one? Hell no, not worth it's price - especially from a kickstarter campaign.
They offer the blue one in a black case option as well.
love it .... vey ... ANIME
Looks awesome. Feels like it would be perfect with a date window
Fantastic design ! The blue version would have been perfect with a date function...
"Promo SM" ❤️
They should have rotated the design 90 degrees to make it look longer (and better). Nice watches but way too pricey IMO
no bracelet
There is a bracelet available.
Gotta be honest... Looks like an unbranded generic Aliexpress watch.
VERY much so.
Link please

There are very few black dlc titanium watches like this, especially under 500.
meh. not my thing. maybe for someone. just not me =)
unfortunately looks like a squeezed can, as far as watches go. I would never buy one, especially to stand out from the crowd
