I love these AWD tests cause yes I want to know about the features of a car like most reviewers do but they leave off on that, so knowing if a car can confidentially take me places, get unstuck (or avoid it all together) or even just feeling confident and well grounded while driving in snow, rain, or mild off-road is the best
Nice review. I liked your content but some constructive criticism if I may; Someone else mentioned sound was low and I agree, camera operator was shaky in many shots, for the interior section of the review I couldn't see many features because the black levels/shadows were so incredibly low. Also the thumbnail is what drew me in to this video and I wish you focused more time on that off-roady area as this is supposed to be the more adventurous and outdoorsy of the Mazda lineup if I'm correct. (Also yes I know this is just a first-drive video so apologies if this all sounded harsh) Looking forward to more content.
Nice job on your report. uSB-C is good observation. I bought a 23 turbo premium and it’s as fast as I want to be at 65. Crying baby days are long gone but I do go camping in it with my dope smoking, alcoholic retiree buddies. REI air mattress fits perfect behind the drivers side.
Been waiting for a REAL off road review for this car. Also, please take no offence but dude, you sound like Christopher Walken. I LOVE that guy!! What a fun review. Thanks!!
😄 I thought the same about his voice, close your eyes and it's a Walken car review! I mostly watch Sam's Drag race videos but never noticed the similarity until now.
Holy crap this was such a good review you made me want to get one myself. And pretty dang funny too boot XD that baby line got me good! You my friend, are the next Jeremy Clarkson👍
Many thanks for the excellent review. A couple of questions please. Is the cabin quiet, for example compared to CX-5? Is the stitching in the center of the seats uncomfortable? How tall are you?
The stitching in the center of the seats isn't noticeable while driving. But the lower seat bolsters are. You cannot sit slanted or slumped. Not that big a deal. The car is quiet, but not Lexus-quiet. Definitely above average. Hold out for the '24. Easier steering feel and softened suspension. I have a '23 and a '24. Yes, that good a car.
I’ve the 2024 CX50T Meridian Zircon Sand w/ Terra Co seats. I’m looking into a NuCamp 340 Teardrop @ 2148 lbs weight . This will tow the Teardrop W/ very easily. with 682lbs ❤to spare. Add 5lbs air pressure to each tire for less rolling resistance while towing will diminish some of the drag as well . With 320 lbs trq The Long and Low wagon style on steroids ride design it’ll be a bad~ assed Rollin set of wheels. All 6 of them.
@@faustohernandezgonzalez7324 Thank you for your reply. Which one do you enjoy driving more? I didn't like the brakes on CX-5. I ended up getting a Genesis GV70 four cylinder and the darn thing has horrible gas mileage. I am lucky if I get 12 miles per gallon in the city.
What's ur opinion on the non turbo engine version of this cx 50 for a regular daily car..what's the fuel economy of that if you got to drive it Sam..from ontario
I don't know why all car reviewers don't point out that when it comes to USB ports and charging all you needs is a small power inverter that works better/quicker than any USB-C port???? Truly puzzling that nobody mentions
Drove both side by side yesterday, drive response is great in the cx50, infotainment is superior in cx50. Outback xt won on power, space front and back, seat feel, safety features, and road noise suppression. Outback. Also thought the harmon Kardon blew the bose out of the water. Outback wins for me with a wife and child, the rear facing car seat was not great in cx50, no issues at all in outback.
I was looking into Mazda CX 50 premium and Hyundai Santa Fe 2022 Sel premium. Can you please give your suggestion which is better and what may be trade value after 5 years for both ?
I work in selling auto parts. I've seen a few 21' and 22' model year santa fe owners come in with the engine burning a very excessive amount of oil, all were about a quart a day, I forget the mileage on all of them but I know one was 30k miles and another was 40k miles. All blowing puffs of white smoke out the tailpipe. I Hope you didn't go with the santa fe!
Good review! I just want to say, it is extremely misleading, dangerous and irresponsible the manufacturer supplied a travel trailer that is only 30 pounds under the max tow rating for this vehicle. Tow rating also includes payload; so with people, gear and a trailer that is actually loaded (water, batteries, supplies) this vehicle cannot safely tow that R-Pod.
The brand doesn’t tell you to tow a 3500 pound what ever … they say towing capacity is 3500 .. it’s up to you to get a trailer or whatever You need to tow that is less … so if you’re the person the needs to bring half a trailer of equipment the means you need to get a truck and not a small suv like this ..
This is just an average FWD bias AWD crossover. Its not a real 4 wheel drive. Its a slip detection system. When the front wheels slip the rear wheels kick in to help. But it isnt spinning all the time like a wrangler or other 4x4s vehicles do. Or like a Subaru. Its not a rock crawler like a true 4x4 with a transfercase with 4Lo gearing. This is what seperates 4x4 from a basic clutch base slip detection AWD system. The reason why you dont see AWD vehicles offroading. Im sticking to my real 4 wheel drive Jeep. With 4hi 4lo gearing. All the wheels move all the time.
Mazda really did a great job with the design/shape of this
For Mazda it is all about driving feel rather than numbers on a piece of paper. If you care about driving, Mazda is your choice.

As far as off road the tires are the main thing that rother helps or hurts, it's all about the tires for off-road

Came for the CX-50 video but wow, new subscriber here from Mexico; fun, great technical facts and production, I liked the drone shots

Thank You Mazda for not using CVT Garbage
The hill at 18:00 is pretty intense and muddy, but do you think it could have done it with better off road tires in "offroad" mode?

I got Mazda cx-50 meridian edition 2023
Huge performance thought. Try to review that meridian edition by a chance.
Which color is this exactly? Is it the new blue ingot or machine gray?

Will there be a CX50 PHEV?
VERY GOOD, When come to Indonesia 🙁
Mazda makes beautiful cars
For city is good demio
For faster axela or cx3 is good
We need an Off-road review of the Outlander, I've been waiting since you released the video of your review on that thing.
Will try :)
great review!! waiting cx70. when would you get it? and last question. what would you pick the outback or this one?
For city and highway driving only which SUV (CX-5 or CX-50) is quitter, handles the potholes better, and more comfortable to drive?

Its being said that parking brake auto engages everytime we put the CX50 in park. Is that true??
I just bought mine two weeks ago, haven't encountered anything like that.
It does. Also turns off when you put it in drive. Completely transparent.
I really like the styling. Kudos to Mazda 👏👍. But 20 in. wheel and off-road, no 👎
Maybe with atv tire have a better off-road performance when trying to climb the hill. But overall I think Is a acceptable beginning to Mazda
You look like Jay Leno with Christopher Walken's voice.
I need to get one of these in Germany...
Which one would you prefer, RAV4 vs CX5 ?

Tag Monaco

Turbo GT
Cx 50 or Toyota Prime ?
