it better is, because of the mercury fumes, they aren´t very healthy

That room must be saturated with mercury vapor (around 2,000 mg/m^3) which would be more than 1,000 times the levels considered immediately dangerous to life and health (10mg/m^3)
Where are they venting this poisonous vapor? Or is the room sealed? What happens if they need to do maintenance?
