- Plesetsk Cosmodrome is a Russian spaceport located in Mirny, Arkhangelsk Oblast. Originally developed as an ICBM site for the R-7 missile, it also served for numerous satellite launches using the R-7 and other rockets. Founded in 1957, Plesetsk began as the world's first operational intercontinental ballistic missile base, and later was used to place mainly military satellites into polar orbit. Since then, Plesetsk has become one of the busiest launch bases in the world for all kinds of satellites.

If engeneers at spacex just looked arround and copy what others had masterfully already implemented, if Specex wasn't so obscessed with being cheap by building a state of the art launch pad such as this one; they would have saved themselves a lot of money by avoiding all those spaceship explosions due to damage created by debris on take offs.

@@Quicksilver1936 I mean he is said some dum shit i agree, but SpaceX actually failed with their launch pad recently. You can see how launch pad in this spaceport constructed, so all the exhaust would go under the launch pad. SpaceX rocket is much heavier and powerful, but i think its not a big deal to construct a launch pad specifically for it

Space shuttle is only reusable launcher with known price, and it was the most expensive in history. Price of spacex launches not known, but known that USA government give to spacex a lot of preferences, including remove cheapest system of China & Russia from market.

Russia could be such a great country if it would focus on bettering the world instead of destroying it. Their cultural heritage and scientific knowledge is far too hurt by the government's misguided imperialism. They don't need any more land area or any more natural resources. They need less corruption.
Russia IS focusing on bettering the word - ask China, India, Brazil and all of Africa. But it could have done much more if not for NATO and American imperialism pushing it into the corner.
