  • The aircraft is set to be the country’s answer to the Boeing 737 MAX and the Airbus A320 due to its aircraft performance characteristics and cost-effectiveness. Its main advantages are advanced aerodynamics and the newest engines along with the extended application of composite materials.

    That is a joke, cartoon presentation of someone' sweet dreams. The real thing will either never fly or it will be the same failure as previous Russian aircraft Shitjet 100.
    Aerodynamics does not matter when the engine is weak, ineffective and likely to break. The same story is about everywhere - from materials to be used, to electronics, optics, and avionics. Weak, ineffective and likely to break.
    The biggest hope of Russian air-industry is Chinese company Great Wall. When China starts to produce civilian airplanes, they will be imported, relabeled (just like automobiles right now) and then will fly proudly carrying the Russian name MS-22.

      @@TheNefastor No it's not, they don't even have the same dimensions. Likewise different engines, cockpit, uses different materials, has multiple current sizes unlike the C919, etc.
      It seems the MC-21 actually uses *less* foreign components/suppliers than the C919, for better or worse.
      Just because they look alike doesn't inherently mean anything, current planes in general barely look any different.
      It's not clear how much, if any, collaboration there has been. Obviously Russia has it's own long history of manufacturing aircraft.

    • @TheNefastor
      @TheNefastor 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@DoubleMonoLR you shouldn't assume people are ignorant and can be lied to easily. Both place *have* the exact same dimension and payload capacity, at 19 metric tons. The Russian is slightly bigger but only to accommodate larger fuel tanks and give it more range. And the only significant difference in western component sourcing is that the Russians are using a domestic engine (for better of worse, as you said)
      Moreover, the history of Russian airplane design includes very few civilian passenger planes, especially if you don't count military planes converted for airline use. That's why they used a lot of western input.
      Bottom line, in every way, MC21 == C919.

      Three Russian aircraft manufacturers each making large investments in developing different aircraft that might compete with each other in a relatively small market isn't a recipe for success. There are reasons why very large scale and expensive manufacturing sectors tend to become monopolies. Large-scale companies keep getting more efficient because they have the large-scale money to invest in the most efficient production equipment. Avoiding wasteful duplication of efforts by forming the United Aircraft Corporation was a wise idea.

    Russia is restoring production of the four-engine Il-96:
    "The new experimental Il-96-400M, created as part of the Il-96 family aircraft modernization program, is being prepared for the first flight (07.06.23). The aircraft is equipped with modern Russian avionics equipment, including a new avionics complex and other systems and components.
    The lengthened fuselage makes the aircraft more spacious and attractive to operators. Previously, only the Il-96-300 was produced in the passenger version."

    as a person from Russia, I want to say that the whole of Russia, and judging by the comments, in general, everyone is waiting for this liner. this is a huge breakthrough in technology, thanks to this project, a huge number of new plants were built for the production of domestic systems, from paint and tires to hydraulics. It is especially pleasing that we were able to make our own engine entirely from domestic parts. Yes, perhaps this is not the most economical airliner, and competing with the Airbus A321 Neo in terms of fuel consumption can be called competitors with a big stretch, but from a technological point of view, this aircraft is a breakthrough. the advantage for him is that he is very cheap. The exchange rate of the dollar and the ruble is constantly jumping, so the numbers are not accurate, but in dollars there are about 50,000,000. or 4,600,000,000 Russian rubles. it is 2 times cheaper than a321 and b737-800, there is nothing to say about max and neo. It is just a matter of time when they start to develop their own electronics devices for the critic up dated avionics, and the same to the PD 14 engines. And the Russian state enterprise will be yet another failure for the state to sustain. And so, as always happens with Russian products, they will never be offered on the world's shelves and Russia, as always, will remain a country that feeds failure and will sell and will end up selling its products to the penguins of Antarctica. Well, that's the failure mindset.

    • @Baisfredec
      @Baisfredec 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@_Epsilon_ Russia does not have the technology to produce a modern commercial passenger aircraft with the same quality standards as those of the major aviation industries in the United States, Europe and the Brazilian Embraer. Let's look at the historical performance of the Russian industry:
      The IL-96 model, whose only customers in 30 years were Cubana de Aviação and the Russian government, failed spectacularly, delivering only 30 units in its 31 years of production.
      Let's take, for example, just two of Boeing's models with customers worldwide, the 777 model that has sold 1649 aircraft to date and the 747 model that has sold 1574 aircraft to date, all in a period shorter than the 31 years of production of the Russian plane.
      The newest Russian attempt to enter the market is the MC-21 model, which has not yet been certified and has yet to enter mass production and I doubt it will enter yet considering the war with Ukraine has exhausted the Russian economy. It will be another failure.
      Therefore, until today the Russians have not achieved success in the history of their commercial aviation.

      The Russian letter “C” is pronounced as “s”, for example, «ресторан» (“restaurant”) sounds as “restorán”. Therefore, the Russian “MC-21” is pronounced as “em es dvádtsad odín". The ’C’ in this acronym is for the word “samolyót” (“airplane”).

      @@valerijramzes1605 the airframe and all the screws are metric like in all Russian planes.
      Meanwhile nearly all commercial aeroplanes and military aeroplanes are in Imperial even planes made in the EU.
      So most maintenance base would hate to buy new tools to service her.
      Unreliable engines.
      Engines can have a lot of faults even PW1500 and V2500 and these engines were developed in the '90s
      Lack of spare parts and probably not many countries will buy her.

    Most countries won't buy this aircraft because of the lack of Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreements which means the aircraft must be certificated by the Civil Aviation Authority of the country that wants to purchase/operate it. The process is not only impossible politically (for most countries) but also not economically feasible. In addition, what airline CEO in his right mind would want to buy an aircraft from Russia and risk not being able to get spare parts??? None.
