Also watching from Vancouver Island!! Heading out on the Sunshine Coast trail this weekend and also hoping my body holds up. Congratulations on 100km.

I'm watching from Vancouver Island! Sometimes I wish for a bit of flat trail but that looks excessive - although beautiful country!

Haha!! It’s so funny how you wish for flat when you’re on hills and then wish for hills when you’re on flat!! Both are challenging in their own ways.

Just curious, do you think your back hurts because of your backpack or just all the extra hiking?

Walking loaded on excessive concrete without training for it

Hi Ann!! I hurt my back in January when I was rock climbing. I did a bunch of physio for it, but I still don’t think my core muscles were back to their normal strength! I usually get a little bit of back soreness from walking or standing without a pack. But this time, I think my core muscles were super tired and then I just did a funny movement at home in the van and it tweaked a bit. In hindsight, it was obviously minor since it was back to normal after two days.

Hi Byron! Yes that’s pretty close to it!! More consecutive walking than I had been doing! I had been training for about a month, but ideally I would have liked to train for 3-4 months, especially after experiencing my back injury in January. But, thankfully I recovered super quickly!
