Nice review Russ. Keep it up. Love the detail in the menus. Great touch
I’ve been using Go 2 for 2 years and for bicycling it’s great, so easy to use. I always wished I could use a lapel mic. I thought when they updated the camera, that would be an option.
That was a fantastic review and summary. Thank you so much. 😊
I love Flathead Lake! Glad you are having fun there. I subscribe to this channel primarily for drones, but I really, really appreciate these reviews! They have been very helpful for my non-drone activities. 😊 Keep up the good work.
Hey, this is one of the best teaching videos I've found and I have seen a lot. I am 75 YO and there is a lot of new stuff on this camera that I am not familiar with. Thanks!!
Hello Russ, thank you for your detailed overview and testing of the new Insta360 Go3. Wow, talk about massive improvements to this new-generation camera. The new package size, features, and improvements with the new base is awesome. You sure had a beautiful location for your family vacation and testing of the new Go3. Again, Thank You👏👏.
It was a perfect location to test this camera out! Thanks Steve!
wow such a good update, I want one! Thanks for the video, it's great!
Looks very interesting. Thanks.
Very cool form factor! I'm glad it still has the option to detach the camera for FPV use.
Nicely done 👍
Good review again Russ
Welcome to BigSky!! Great review, gotta get me one of those....
Hey Russ! Another GREAT review.... this time from another GREAT location to boot, with the family!!! We love MT!!! We may have to pull the trigger on this one... It sure seems like a great improvement over the Go 2. And it did well, for what it was but the manufacturer seemed to either listen or paid attention to the market on this edition! Massive improvements for sure! I for one, am not THAT disappointed that it's not 4K. It would have been nice BUT the other features WILL have me adding this one to my arsenal, as I can have someone else in my group using the Go 2 during our activities, whether at the RC flying field, at the drag races, at family events or whatever...can never have too many cameras gathering different viewpoints of the moments or memories, in my opinion! Then I get the duties of editing it ALL together... oh wait.... Ai can help with this one! LOL ;) Thanks again for a great, detailed review Russ! Take care!!! Ken
Great video, thank you!! Is there an option to download to a PC?
Great review Russ! 2.7k max is a bit disappointing, but it's an awesome design! Well done bud!
Another great review, particularly in a stunning location. I am an avid user of the Go2 and love the portable features, where it is regularly in my pocket or on my chest, capturing great family moments. When you mention ‘improved video resolution’, I am disappointed that it isn’t 4K, as 2.7K is only a 13% improvement over 1440P. Yes, it has some other features I like, ie flip screen and 45 min camera life, but without 4K, not compelling enough to upgrade. I’m sure other Go2 owners feel the same. Keep the great reviews coming.
For that size it's something to be able to shoot at 2.7k with just the camera.
Cool putting the Insta360 Go3 on the M3 Pro. I was a bit worried too as when I got the Firehouse ARC V strobe, one of the sticky velcro pads came off. I stuck the velcro pad on and waited about a full day for the adhesive to cure but the strobe fell off with the velcro pad, luckily missing the props and it was only a few feet off the ground and fell into some tall grass. So the strobe survived. I had to use a very fine grit sandpaper to smooth out the area I wanted the strobe to be
Were you mounting this camera to a drone for the aerials in this video?
Very nice 👌 I think 🤔 I will get it 😊
I would like to have one as a niche product that I would use pretty infrequently. However, their asking price is much too high for the quality of this thing. I'd pay $150 but it's not worth more than that to me.
I'm wondering how good that camera would do with FPV compared to a DJI action or GoPro
Hi! I just bought the Insta360 Go3 about 3 weeks ago. After watching your Video. There is one feature I found missing on the menu of the camera. That is the Stabilization level setting. My camera version is v1.0.27 As far as I know, this is the latest version to date.
Off subject but what iPad is best for air 2.
Pretty gutsy sending that up on your drone with the sticky mount! It seems sketchy to me. But what do I know? I don’t have one :-)
Is the memory internal or does it use a micro sd card? Thanks.
internal only. 3 options at time of purchase.
So. . .am i missing the 360 functionality?
There is no 360 capability with the Go 3. 360 is just part of the branding with this camera.
@@sundog1973 got it. thanks. I thought 360 cameras were their thing. I've never had one and was considering trying one out.
@@markkempton4579 Their 360 cams have been excellent. I recommend the X3 highly. I have the original One X and X3, as well as the original Go camera. The v1 Go cam is good, but very little recording time. The Go 3 is very interesting but I don't know that it is worth 429 at the 128gb storage level where it would eliminate one of it's major issues.
How can I order a cap from you ?
I have not found a printer that I am happy with yet. When I get that figured out, I will advertise it here on the channel.
Does it overheat like the gopro?
Nope
The Go2 is notorious for overheating after 7-10 minutes. That the only thing I hate about mine.
Pssst.....you didn't use the most important feature of the GO3 in your first test! Why would you mount the entire package on your drone instead of just the cam?
Because they did not send the Go 3 mount with the review unit! Otherwise I would have.
@@51Drones On a related subject. If the cam were used in this way, as a case example, will it continue recording if it loses connectivity with the base?
Why the go 3 footages looks worst then the actual camera on 1080p ? I noticed this on other videos as well
Its downfall is 2.7K recording. Got to have 4K minimum at this point. Great design…. I like the new features, but not having that 4K.
I don't think the form factor can work with 4K yet, at least without major heat issues... it's just too small. this is the part I'm torn on... I have a GoPro but sometimes I wonder if I had a smaller camera like this I might be more inclined to use it more and my family would feel less like a camera is in their face... which means I would capture more, sure less quality but is less quality worse than no video at all?
@@canyonblue737-8 I think the size difference between a GoPro and this is inconsequential, but as you said - it matters to sum like yourself. For the size difference I’d much rather have the 5K to work with then trying to make 2.7K work. And if size was a huge problem DJI makes a much smaller size platform that has much better recording albeit with the heat/recording length limitations. I still have GoPro Hero10 and I don’t think I’ll be upgrading anything in this department.
lol
Well today my youtube notification light up like a Christmas tree. Everyone had a video of the new 360 camera. I picked yours as you don't BS people in your videos. I watched it. I will give you a thumbs up for it but I will not buy another action camera. I am out doors in the bush lots. Anything I need to video I can do with my phone. I have several action cameras and they end up just taking up space in my packsack. So I will be passing on this new 360 camera. Not needed so why spend money that can be better spent elsewhere. Gas, food and maybe on your kids.
I think every TH-camr got one!
@@51Drones Ya as the day goes on there is a shit load of these videos on youtube. They must have lost my mailing address as I never got one LOL
Sorry Russ, but built-in storage, hence no upgradable micro-SD card is a no-go for me. Unless they cut the price down by 50%, I would not pay that much for a camera that didn’t take removable memory cards.
@@SW-Video Not true, a lot of action cams have removable microSD cards and are very waterproof. GoPro, DJI Osmo, and even the Insta360 x3 specs show it’s waterproof down to 33ft.
Never mind, shouldn't have went past the beginning... lol
Boring!
