Not really. Jailin hyatt and wandale will be fine for a new QB to create chemistry and start the rebuilding journey. Giants made a huge mistake because now we have to wait another year before they can begin progressing/building from the bottom up.
Qbs will make WRs not the other way around. If you want your team to start getting better than you need a new QB.

Gotta take all of this with a grain of salt. On every show, not just Speak. I've seen every single one of these talking heads miss BADLY on many topics. Drafts, who's going to win this Sunday, who's going to win the playoffs, who's going to win the SB. It wasn't that long ago Joy was raving about Kenny Pickett and saying her Steelers made a terrific choice. Bottom line - it's all just opinion and theirs aren't any better than yours or mine. We all hit a few and miss a lot more than not. These folks just get paid well to do it!
Michael Penix is like 1 year younger the Jones with similar injury concerns. Nabers was the right choice.
No & think about this. They have 3 super dynamic skill position players now in Nabers, Hyatt, and Darren Waller. Doesn't take a great QB to make it work for guys like that
Waller will probably retire but wandell Robinson is that guy. They had a historical bad Oline last year. If that improves 10 percent they can win 9 games again. People mistakenly think Barkely was the whole team. That is false. That one year with DJ is the only time Barkley sniffed the playoffs

Nabers is the best player in the draft. This is a great pick.
Darius Slayton was the Giants best separator(surprisingly good relative to the rest of the leagues WRs according to PFF). Now they've got two guys for DJ to throw to. Jones needs to learn when to take risks and quickly. He throws the open guy, but he takes forever to do it. Drew Locke looked like an NFL QB against the 49ers. If Nabers doesnt have a huge game or two in the first 8 games they ought to see what Locke looks like

the guy who said the Giants offense was essentially the same as 2 yrs ago is wrong. In 2022, all the Giants had was Barkley. Yes, Barkley is gone, but 2 yrs ago the Giants were trotting out practice squad guys and UDFAs at WR. Robinson was injured, Toney was in outer space, and Golladay in terminal decline. This year they will have a true WR1 - Nabers, Hyatt, and Robinson. The O-line, if not truly "fixed" should be better than 2 yrs ago and while Barkley is gone, Singletary is by no means a poor RB. Bellinger, entering his 3d season vs. 2022, his rookie year. QBs come and go. No one knows at this point what QB opportunities will appear next season. Whether draft, trade, or Free Agencey.

Malik Nabers was fantastic pick, could be their best receiver since OBJ and Victor Cruz, arguably far surpassing both of those guys. They just drafted Theo Johnson at TE who, if he lives up to his measurables, could end up being one of the top tight ends in football. He's an athletic freak. Malik Nabers is a sure thing. JJ McCarthy is not. If we could've gotten Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, we would've. The Patriots were not going to move off #3, they wanted their franchise QB. It was a smoke screen.
If the Giants had taken a QB, people like Joy would be saying "But he's got no one to throw the ball to. They have no weapons.".
Nabers is great but they have no QB. Maybe they can get one next year
I think the problem is if they did want to get to that 3rd spot they would have paid a ransom. And giving away draft capital for the future doesn’t help the roster situation. Which y’all say is barren. Putting a young qb in an offense with limit to no talent will yield the same results as Daniel jones playing. At least they got a cornerstone WR until they get a qb they want.

i think the Giants made the right move. Build the team around the QB first. You just paid Jones so you have to just deal with him for now. Make sure a squad is in place for when youre in position to take a QB you want instead of just what you can get. Maybe Jones can take another step with a reliable WR and if he cant then next year you know what you need to do.

These people are clueless. This year we have a completely new oline and oline coach. Hopefully they do better blocking than last year. Skill position wise we have Nabers X, Hyatt z, and Wandale as the y, then Theo/belli as serviceable te’s? I would say this is a competent and competitive group. Let’s not forget DJ had one of the best deep balls in the league (22’ season), albeit he did go downfield much (mostly due to having to scramble immediately after the snap). If Dj gets more time to make a couple reads this year he’s got the weapons to win.
DJ was the Senior Bowl MVP. DJ threw dimes and got the name "Danny Dimes." He finally got a coach. He outplayed Curt Cousins in the playoff game on the road, making NFL history with no WR1. Injured All-Pro AT and SB, had a bad OL and OL coach, and no WR1. Carl Banks called it; DJ is going to get hurt because he is taking too many hits. Today, he's the worst QB in football history. Drafting the highest-graded NextGen player and LSU WR was a mistake. REALLY!!
You can’t pass up a chance at drafting a talent like Nabers.
I think we also have to consider that next years draft could be almost if not more deep at QB than this year's draft. Jones only got 1 more year on his contract. Next year they could have their choice of Shedeur, Carson Beck, Quinn Ewers, Jalen Milroe, Cam Ward, etc. I think the Raiders came to the same decision by not trading up and just taking a solid weapon (Brock Bowers) that will help their future QB whoever that is.

Can you guys not get some guys on the show that actually have talking points beside, “Jones isn’t good”. Talk about why the guy struggles in the games he played last year. The kid had injuries on the OL, a rookie center, Evan Neal who hasn’t panned out. 3# 3 receivers. Y’all are expecting Jones to make “wine out of rock” so she says. You guys don’t understand how that it takes all 11 guys even when some of you played in the NFL. The QB isn’t the problem, it’s the OL and was receivers if Nabers works out.
