Question:
If a flat roof is less work/lumber and allows more head space in the upper floor or attic without a cathedral ceiling, why aren't modern sloped mono pitch roofs more used in these small adu over garage units or small homes in general?

I am in the engineering stage of my ADU. I have used both of your plans and kinda mixed them up for a 2bed 2 bath ADU with the front porch of the 1 bed 1 bath.
