      @@jackbuendgen389he sure is! Funny how he gave Mathews a 4/5 on speed that shoot 15 FPS slow lol. Then “took into consideration they have 80% mods” and then gave them credit for an additional 4-5 fps. Hoyt has 80% Letoff on their cams. He never took that into consideration. Only for Mathews

    • @toddlymburner5783
      @toddlymburner5783 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@connor_bohnts it’s a speed test! You can’t give 1 company a make belief additional 4 fps for Letoff and not do it for the other company in order to make 1 company look better. I own a VTM and a RX/8 and a V3X. I know all about the difference. Going from 80-85% on a Hoyt and you will not even notice it regarding DL. Mathews always measured 1/2 long but you never see him factor that in. The Mathews was very far off it’s IBO and should not get a 4/5. Not saying it’s a bad bow but he should be honest.

      Now rates do nothing because most people that buy one is gonna leave a 5 star. If they don’t then they won’t review. Then additionally everyone is different in what feels good. Some people say the lift isn’t smooths I think it’s draw is smoother yet has a bit heavier feel than all others. To the point I ordered 80# mods because 70# mods was like butter coming back. I personally have never been a big fan everyone calling people fanboys though. Most people have never talked to people that’s a part of the company’s. Mathews is the only manufacturer that will make you feel like family while they brake it off inside you attempting to get you to buy a bow. Hoyt bowtech they don’t even use ky before they rape your wallet.

      Hello. Oh yeah. I totally agree. I'm looking at a couple of Mathews that are a couple years old. Where the person had 2 bows already, then upgraded. And are now selling their extra bow. I have 2 bows right now. A 2007 Diamond Triumph, that I bought in 2018, and I just bought a brand new 2022 Bear Legit at the beginning of this year. I'm now wishing I would have waited on the Bear purchase and saved for a better bow. It's a good bow, don't get me wrong, but it lacks alot of features that the flagship bows have. I'll get a flagship bow one day. I appreciate the advice. Thanks.

Not enough to move the needle for me, especially if the draw cycle is any stiffer than Phase 4. For me the upgrade decision will be about the weight savings versus my Phase 4. The lighter weight is very impressive.

    You can't mark down for ATA and brace height if you didn't make sure the strings were to factory spec. Twist the String, Cables and yokes to stated factory spec, then check ATA and Brace height.

  • @NMBowhntr
    @NMBowhntr 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My only comment back to Mathews engineers when they say “we can build an aluminum bow better than a carbon bow” is, “Wake up. The customer is asking for a carbon bow from Mathews. Carbon bows aren’t a fad. There are a LOT of customers who would LOVE to have a choice of a Mathews carbon bow. And you are telling them to go buy a Hoyt or Bow Tech or PSE or Elite.”
    I’m in sales, too. And one rule of thumb I always use is to ask myself “what would my competition think of this strategy?” So I ask you, what would Hoyt and the other carbon bow manufacturers think if Mathews came out with an incredible carbon bow? Would they be all happy, or would it give them heartburn and cold sweats? Yeah, I bet the latter, too. So come on! Let’s see your best carbon bow, Mathews! Carbon is just plain cool for a lot of us, and we know you can do it. Look at those carbon guitars you make. You’re basically telling the top of the market bow buyers, who couldn’t care less about a price difference, to pound sand. How is that a good business decision? Best of luck to you. Hope you offer me a carbon bow someday.

    I watched people shooting the LIFT at an archery shop. There was a guy shooting a Phase 4 near them. The Phase 4 sure sounded more quiet than the LIFT did. The LIFT they were shooting was all decked out with a stabilizer, etc. ( I think it was the factory demo setup sent to the dealer, fully equipped). The Phase 4 was equipped similar and it was easily more quiet. Also, the guy shooting the LIFT said the draw cycle was very heavy at the front end of the cycle. Very interesting! I have not shot one, just sharing what I have seen so far.
    My dealer said all of the LIFTs so far have come in really heavy in terms of draw weight. With a 70# mod they are drawing close to 75 lbs, etc. Another interesting point.

  • @mountaineermaniac7005

      @setharter 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mountaineermaniac7005 Why is PSE close? They specifically list IBO on there bows? It's 5 grains per pound of draw weight UP TO 80#. Why do bows that are unavailable in 80# still show IBO speeds? Why does he crucify Prime for not coming close to their listed IBO speed? Why are they not gifted the same leeway as Mathews? ATA guidelines fall within IBO guidelines as well.

    • @mountaineermaniac7005
      @mountaineermaniac7005 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@setharter IBO guidelines allow a maximum of 80lbs, so if other platforms don’t offer an 80lb option then they can’t test/publish those results at their maximum. You can still call it IBO, but your just not getting the most from what is allowed. Why they don’t publish their results as ATA instead? Probably because IBO is what everyone recognizes.

    11 fps off while giving them the free 4fps even though the parts aren’t available should have been a 3 if you ask me. But it’s not my channel. I think it’s pretty clear that’s being extra generous when on any other bow you wouldn’t have finagled yourself into justifying the misrepresentation. Even with 4fps being given for a part that’s not available it was still outside of your 10 fps range but you gave them a free excuse by saying it’s still fast for the feel 😂 either be objective or don’t come up with a scoring system. That’s why people are mad. There is clearly some sort of difference between manufacturers or you would say the same things about Mathew’s that you critique on every other manufacturer

    I’ll admit this may be the quietest bow on the market, which does make it a joy to shoot. The draw cycle is very linear, it feels like 70# all the way till it drops into the slot, whereas my pse tapers off towards the end. Not better just different. But With a 332.66 average fps I’ll keep my 4 yo evo nxt that’s rated at 329 and ACTUALLY shoots 329 at 30/70/350. At best I’d pick up 4-5 fps not worth the $1400 price tag imo.

    Now that I changed jobs so I can go back to finish out a degree, and am broke as hell, Mathews drops this........... are you fuggin' serious Mathews.... 😐

      See I want the 33, but the shop owner told me to go 29.5 and that even he will be taking it out west and his 33 will be for 3D. But then one of his employees was pushing the 33 because ultimately is 3.5in or 1.75 top and bottom really going to get in the way when in the tree and wouldn’t you rather have a more accurate and forgiving setup. I’m torn, may just save the money from going 29.5 and applying it towards the new QAD

      @@MJswam4AU for the record, the 29.5 measured I believe at 29.75" for the riser length. My Mach 34 measures 29.5" for a riser length, and it's a 34" ATA bow, which holds and aims exceptionally well on target.

      You have to take it to a shop and buy additional parts. At that point it is not more adjustable than any other bow...you might as well buy multiple different bows to get that adjustability range. Still love it and it will probably be my new purchase, but I think that needs higher consideration.

    This bow with tune-ability and features that Bowtech has would have been the craziest hunting bow to hit the market. The hype is cool and the lightness and speed sure but id almost sacrifice that to have the features and tune-ability to do myself without a whole press and draw board and shop. Only thing i hear is bowtechs servings and cables arent durable at all which is a little scary

    • @huntsimple9527
      @huntsimple9527 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The factory strings/cables on my Bowtech SS34 were garbage, the serving on the cables separated in just a few shots. I replaced them with Catfish Custom strings/cables and those have been perfect. Outside of the string/cable issue, my SS34 is easily the best bow I have shot in a very long time, and I have had all of the Hoyts, Mathews, etc. the past few years. The deadlock cam system on Bowtech is a feature that elevates Bowtech in a very big way.

Great guy and customer service. Helped me on the phone. I think you really wanted to give this bow all the points you could. True average of those 3 shots was closer to 332, not 333. Even if you give it an imaginary 4fps, thats still well below your own benchmark of no less than 10fps slow. Have you ever given a bow extra speed in a review based on a hypothetical? Id be curious to see what it actually does at 80% letoff. Regardless, nice review and looks like a solid option!

      Has nothing to do with that. IBO speed testing is not based on the criteria he is using. IBO speed tests are done with 80 lbs draw weight, 400 grain arrow, and there is no draw length max. So in my opinion it’s a fictional number for most of us. What he is testing against is ATA speeds. Mathews doesn’t publish the ATA speeds which is something that I don’t understand because everyone assumes that they are lying, they aren’t but what they are telling us is not a realistic setup for 99% of us.
