I'd love to learn Norwegian more and more since I've seen your VDO during waiting for the school open in late August. You made it easier for non-Norwegian. Many thanks. ;)
I began learning English when I first started to go to school, when I was six years old. Don't know if that's normal though. I remember my first English textbook. There where drawings that we coloured, and simple words, such as "car", "bus" and "sky" was written on the different objects in the pictures.
Wow! I find this extremely useful! It's great that you speak slow first, kind of separate each word. I've notice when ppl speak Norwegian they omit word endings what actually makes the whole phrase / sentence more fluent, yet it bring a lot of confusion 'gee... how do I pronounce this or that word properly'. Great job! Takk!
@iwannadrinkacupoftea I stand corrected. That would explain a few things lol. I always assumed they were speaking a separate language in Austria. A Germanic language like Danish or Norwegian, but separate from German. Thank you for correcting me. Danki :)
@Epicaq Usually I try to take sentences which are almost the same as the english once! But you wouldnt come very far knowing singal words, so senteces with the same meaning is more valueble to you guys.. i think?
You remind me of the Pimsleur Norwegian lessons! some of the first few lessons teach you what you said(except some expresions :) )! Anyway, its nice you posted something new! too bad I don't have with who to practice. What is funny is that when you speak slow is easy to understand, but when you go norwegian mode, its like a turbo button been pressed:)! like a slow train that turns to a TGV:)! takk igjen Corina (the way we say your name in my country). Har en god dagg! lykke til a du ogsa.
She is just so cool as she teaches this, but I still cannot get my phonics and pronounciations correct to sound like her. I have enough trouble with English as a Canadien francophon, but this is really tough. I have to admire her ability to speak such clear English and also be a native Norge speaker.
Hvor i norge bor du? Do you have a Bergen / Oslo / Tromso accent? Jeg vil gjerne vet for naa jeg reise til oslo i september. Alt for laere norsk!! :o) x
Karin, thank you so much for replying to my message. I will get back to you soon as I find all my info on my cousins. I need to check my files....have a great week and thanks again.
my foriegn friend from switzerland told me that this language requires the person to use a diffrent part of there brain because it's so odd idk if this is true or not though
well actually the norwegian R is quite simple for us Spanish speakers.. it´s almost rolled.. and the constructions are almost like in English i had a huge headache trying to learn French lol
that Hæ? is so hilarious :D i feel like saying it all the time when someboy asks me something in norsk grrr As i don't understand norsk it's very hard to seperate words and understand or even worse - to say something in norsk! Feels like i need to put hot potato in my mouth so i could try to say finally something that sounds like norsk. I'm completely on ground zero right now but i think i will give it a try one more time. This was very great and useful video for me! Tusen takk! :)
I love your videos, however i got a bit messed now... and i thought about that: which norwegian do you speak? I guess I learnt a different type haha :)
WOW, Swedish and Norwegian and Danish and some of the nearby countries are very very much similar at their language, i can speak German, and i can say that you Sweden and Norwegian people can understand every word that you say to each other, but German has a little words that are similar to your's, i have sisters and they speak Swedish and i can't understande a word what they are saying... just when i really carefully listen... but i want to learn Swedish or Norwegian, i think Norwegian is cuter
She is frickin adorable... I want to learn all of the Scandinavian languages. Thus far," jeg taler meget lit dansk." From what I am hearing of Norsk (I listen to the Pimsleur's Norsk CD from time to time), it sounds incredibly Dutch (?). A lot of "Sh" sounds. For instance, Undskyld, is pronounced with a heavy "SH" and sounds more like "unschell," whilst in Dansk it is pronounced "unskool" but spelled the same. I use to think Dansk sounded beautiful and Norsk was harsh but now methinks not.
I dont know if I missed a lesson or something but when you pronounce at normal speed sentences like hva er dette you appear to drop the er sound, am I missing you pronounce it or is it dropped or am I retarded.?
thanks thanks thanks ! 8DD I love love love norwegian. haha. Norwegia is so beautiful and awesome, I really want to move there once I grow up =P Until then, I'll just learn the beautiful language. I'm from Estonia by the way, so I'm not that far from you =P
OMG you are SOOO soo pretty, and the vid was instructional yet pleasantly. So I'm going to spend the next moment or so hitting the "like" button over n over again, then I'm going to have me an absolutely delicious bowl of cereal. :)
I really could, my city is directly (air-line) connected to Oslo during summer months, so hopefully I will come soon. :)

Often, out commercial fishing in Alaska, you'll hear Norwegian on the boat radios (boats talking to other boats).
This speech specific phrases (slang and such) are useful since you don't really find them in books and still ppl use them so often.
@changewind13 Spain, Italy, France, Britain, USA and some in Germany. That's the most usual places, I think.
I'm learning a lot with you!!
Muchas Gracias! (spanish, mange takk haha)

Thank's for your help, I'm pleaning to learn norwegian in two years but I can't found a teacher around here... that's hard...
@Raquaable You can install a Norwegian keyboard driver and use it when you type in Norwegian. That's what I did. :)
Karin, denne videoen er veldig nyttig for meg, spesielt de to andre måter å si at 'jeg vet ikke'.
Tusen takk igjen for din generøse hjerte.
@klownn de uttales likt, men med forskjellige toner! Se Tones video.
Gjenta = ned - opp

@cmc201 If you watch my video "skj" "kj" and "rs" video, you will get it! :) RS always turns into a "sh" sound!

Is "g" always silent? It's not silent in Swedish, right?
