After watching many of Steiner's races, I am convinced the secret to her success is that, as one commenter called it, INSANE turnover rate; I have never seen a sprinter keep those feet pumping on the track as much as she. But it's funny because you'd think that would involve more work on her part but she doesn't seem to be working at all. Go, Abby, you got a big fan here.
Steve Prefontaine, Bob Kennedy, Jim Ryun, Michael Johnson. Evelyn Ashford. Just a few unique forms that come to top-of-mind. I could tell you who the runner is with the faces and uniforms blurred out just from the form in all these cases. Apparently there is more than one right way to get there.
@@tyharris9994 I thought her movement looked different right away. The upper body dose not have much wasted motion/movement and her arms move back and forth less then the other runners as they seem to pull her body forward. Just amazing.
@@tomtam7067 Bob Kennedy had that kind of relaxed efficient form as well. I ran against him in high school and remember how his upper body / arms barely moved and how his face would seem as calm as if he was at home watching TV while the rest of us were straining and grimacing and driving our arms. I can't believe she's putting down those times in the 100, 200 & 400m events. Very rare to do all 3 events nowadays. Surely she only concentrates on the 100 & 200 or 200 & 400 going forward. Abby has what it takes to be an incredible international track star. Especially with Allyson Felix retiring we need someone to lead the USA women's track team and she has it. She had a fantastic Worlds in 2022. I see greatness from her in the years to come.
So we have a sprinter with afterburners now !!! Astonishing how she caught up to the field and blew past them, all of them like they were in reverse. Very obviously she has major talent, works her butt off and apparently his passionate about it. She runs a lot of races I hope she doesn't burn out or get fatigued but it's apparent she knows what she's doing so it will be very interesting to watch her next season, and I don't usually watch track and field events, I will now.
Run Abby Run!!! Abby Steiner has a great future in front of her. She broke so many records left and right like no tomorrow. She will be the greatest of all times.
Abby's leg stride is astonishing. Her precision arm movement still propels forward motion and decreases centrifugal friction, so she uses less energy to maintain balance. Basically, she's a running machine.
@@andrewdavid5928 there are many athletes at higher levels, up to and including Olympic champions, who have weird technical things and imperfections. Winning a race in college does not mean you have perfect technique
Wait, we have it on good sources, (Kooaide soarkers of Uganda), that she soaks her shoes/laces for 48 hours in PUMA cat piss, rinses them in German 25% beer and THEN, and this is the killer,,,laces up using the kutuso method, aka...up, across, thru the middle, 13* down thread and then the triple loop to the tie down. That is the reason she is able to use the 17 -degree right foot drift and 4- degree left foot roll over which gives her the thrush.
Love this. Hope she serves as a shining example for all of those young girls that currently feel like they can't be sprinters or aren't given the chance.
@CVN65 Your statement sounds very familiar. Sounds exactly like what black parents say when their children face real discrimination. Last time I checked sprinting in track and field if you line up and your faster than your opponents, you will get the opportunities especially as a Caucasian. Example Abby signed a contract much larger than more accomplished black athletes. I would like for you to try and place yourself in the shoes of other people when you make a statement like you did
@@realtalk423 The issue is one of self-opting out of something because of one's race. I've been watching Abby race for years. She had an amazing college career and her performance at worlds was fantastic! I wonder if you can do a video on runners first year as a pro? As a big track fan I always watch closer during the first year as a pro to see how they make it through the transition. She seems to have a great family supporting her so I expect a few rough patches at first then she comes out great. Even Mu had a few rough patches transitioning last year before things smoothed out.

Yes, I think her lower and more linear arm swing matches up to her lower knee height at top of her leg and cycle. This seems to allow her to cycle her strides a bit faster than others. She may well be revolutionizing how we should teach sprinting
There's just something about her run...I am too old to sprint professionally but, the way she runs, I feel like it resonates with me. For now I am still trying to undo the imbalances in my body. EDIT: Her stride frequency is almost the same as mine. That's why it resonates with me. I just don't have the strength, endurance, balance, etc. to put the force down and increase my stride length. One of these days I will go join a sprinting team and run in the old mans league. Either that or have children and learn with them lol.
Her core from neck to hips is solid and doesn't move. Only arms and legs, little to no transverse motion from hips as she move her legs. This is not only efficient in moving energy from top to bottom her stability cuts through friction like no one else. GREAT JOB!!!

Yeah, true. Her arm movements are different than others, but works for her.
WORLD, ALSO.
Abby looks to have a Top gear that none of her competition possesses. She is a remarkable athlete.🏁
Until she goes up against the runners from Jamaica
@@sneakerman7647 EXACTLY!! I'm so tired of this type of reporting. How are they going to ignore the Jamaicans? That's why true fans that follow track and field would recognize that this is the usual American great white hype mentality. 🙄
She has promise but she's yet to defeat Frazier-Price, Ms. Jackson.
@@shayduncan6208 she raced the Jamaicans in the 4x100 and ran a 9.86 and stomped them, smoothbrains. You two need to grow a brainstem

By the way, don't reply because I won't respond or read it. Just by your comment alone it shows your IGNORANCE of the sport. Dummy.
@@sneakerman7647 Abby is not going to beat any of those Jamaican women, and she won't beat some of her own teammates. She's not the fastest out there by a long shot. Everyone giving her praise is showing they haven't been paying attention to all the faster women.
Great performances by Abby Steiner, ty for this !
I wish her all the best in 2023…. Obviously she works incredibly hard and deserves her success. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sydney and Abby give strong feelings of pride for being an American. Such grace and class.
Both were wildcats too!
But these days must beware of coloured athletes , they will deliberately lose races to bring down America in the international points standing . Remember what the coloured female gymnast did ? She pull out of competition so America has less medals in order to help china . Hating America is fashionable for coloured people at the moment .
Have you heard of Allyson Felix?
@@pectoralis1565 lol Of course. But she's retired. Sydney and Abby are representing us now and in the future.
She is a golden talent. Thank you for the season recap 🏆

With all the b.s. going on today I needed something like this. Thank you Miss A baby!
I love you Abby you're the best
You mean cadence.
Abby is one of my favorite runner or athlete to watch period.. runs with so much power and grace...
Awesome Athletic Achievement, may more come to Her!! Thanks for running in this world, God speed Abby forever!!
You make absolutely great videos... much appreciated...
I can't get enough of Abby ... Can't wait till this season starts .. I just pray for her to stay healthy !!
She is so solid around the turns. Hope to hear her name at the Olympics.

❤ Thanks for this insane upload schedule!!! Keep up the grind 🙏😇❤
Always love watching your excellent videos!
I am not into any sports, but I truly enjoy watching this video. It is good to see that there are still sports worth watching.
Win or lose,..just watching her its amazing, she's like a train racing down the track and just keeps and going!!
This was a well-done video. Great job!
I love watching her run. Hopefully she stays healthy and also injury free.👍🏼🔥
Amazing! Her form looks odd but clearly it helps her! I hope we get to see more of her.
There is a lot to be said for efficiency. Some people have to learn it and for some it's natural. I never had that.
She runs like a girl, not an athlete. It's awesome.
That's a damn cheating dude...wake up
Great to see someone excel so quickly and young meaning she a long ways to go !!
Damn, she's so powerful with incredible top-end speed. Just seems to keep pulling as eveyone is maxed out. She needs to be protected from burnout. That was a ridiculous season and very risky. I can't believe she's putting down those times in the 100, 200 & 400m events. Very rare to do all 3 events nowadays. Surely she only concentrates on the 100 & 200 or 200 & 400 going forward. She is simply doing too much but is clearly gifted and loves sprinting. I haven't been this impressed (or excited) with a track athlete for a very long time. I watched this 3 times before commenting. Mesmerising!
It's safe to say, I'm a HUGE fan of Abby Steiner and I hope she gets to reach her full potential (scary) and win WC's and Olympic GOLDS!
PS: Thanks for the great video 👍🏼
that cadence/turnover is insane 🔥🔥 she's destined to greatness without a doubt
She's arrived but more to come!
Adductors strenght
She is already great.
If she doesn’t burn out
I was here to post her cadence is another level!! 🔥
Looking forward to upcoming season!!! Keep up the Great Work on your channel! 👍
Abby has what it takes to be an incredible international track star. Especially with Allyson Felix retiring we need someone to lead the USA women's track team and she has it. She had a fantastic Worlds in 2022. I see greatness from her in the years to come.
Still crazy to think looking back at it she graduated the same year as I did from highschool way to go Abby !
Omg.. She is really amazing.. Another big star from USA.. All the best to her
So we have a sprinter with afterburners now !!!
Stop it bruh 😆 🤣..she's very good, but I doubt if she will make top 5 greatest of all time women sprint
Abby's leg stride is astonishing. Her precision arm movement still propels forward motion and decreases centrifugal friction, so she uses less energy to maintain balance. Basically, she's a running machine.
She picks up her knees higher, hence she has a longer stride length.
Her form is terrible, wtf are you taking about
@@HkFinn83 yeah, that's why she's smoking the competition.
@@andrewdavid5928 there are many athletes at higher levels, up to and including Olympic champions, who have weird technical things and imperfections. Winning a race in college does not mean you have perfect technique
Yeah righto. You're one of many in this post with a masters in biomechanics, so I'll take your word on it......🙄
Amazing athlete! Great to see new stars in the making.
A truly gifted beautiful runner who floats over the track
Whoa, truly impressive record. Praying for her success and that she stays healthy and strong.
Her kick, stride, foot placement and knee bend is so consistent and perfect its like a machine against humans. They have zero chance.
Limiting one's self because the expectations one feels from society. it could be the smart black kid not joining the chess club. It could be fast white girl not joining the sprint team. It could be asian kid not joining the youth basketball team.
@@calc1657 People of color are not self-opting out of anything, they are fighting to be aloud to compete. Also when you say society, let's be very clear you have never heard a crowd of black people yelling racist slurs at white children competing in a sporting event. There's thousands of video evidence of adult white people doing this to black children. Don't forget the behind the scenes racism that is to prevent them from being able to compete.

Sprinting was always my favorite track and field event, I loved burning up the track. Abby did awesome work!
Abby is fabulous and I enjoy watching her competitions. Go Abby! YOU ARE INSPIRING! 🎉
Abbey certainly has the physical abilities but she also has to have the mental toughness to work the strategies and to work through the pain to run at her level. Awesome Abbey
I've been watching Abby race for years. She had an amazing college career and her performance at worlds was fantastic! I wonder if you can do a video on runners first year as a pro? From what I've noticed for most runners the first year is a very tough transition year when turning pro if you dont have a good support system/staff/family protecting & supporting you vs exploiting you. 2023 is her first full year as a pro. As a big track fan I always watch closer during the first year as a pro to see how they make it through the transition. She seems to have a great family supporting her so I expect a few rough patches at first then she comes out great. Even Mu had a few rough patches transitioning last year before things smoothed out.
I am keeping my grandmothers ring in my pocket just in case of meeting her...I will be on one knee to be sure. This woman is Wonder Woman! May she be blessed in all of her deeds.
hahah..good luck with that quest.
Get in line brother...a long line!

@@laawaer7265why is that "interesting"? She's one of the best in the nation. But I'm sure you have "other" reasons
When you run fast enough it's turns into miniature flying, falling gracefully. The trick to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss! You go girl! Like in horse racing, when you see a runner come from the back of the pack and just start to pull and pull and it gives you goose bumps when they just keep accelerating and pulling past each other competitor like they were standing still. Just AWESOME! Nascar has the same feel when a racer comes from the back of the pack and just hits those lines perfect and runs a perfect lap. Everyone loves it when an underdog wins... except the other losers to the race. Tortoise and the Hare!
World Class. Amazing. Hope she stays humble, I doubt I could.
this young lady is truly amazing....she has God given talent.......and ever so humble......
That cross-armed, upright style is a little unusual, but it certainly works for her! Her finishing speed is remarkable. The world is going to hear about this woman very soon.
It def is, but I wonder if it helps...I was forced out of the habit
She just does not have a bad race. She's always reliably VERY fast.
we are still waiting for her to medal at the international stage, not relays.
But not fast enough
I think she can definitely be a world champion and gold medalist in the future. Just has to train smart and stay healthy.
And hope the Jamaicans get slower.

My personal favourite athlete of last season...truly a remarkable, near superhuman effort! And she wasn't even fully professional 🤣
The fastest mile time I ever recorded was 6 minutes and 15 seconds, and it felt like my heart and lungs were about to explode under such heavy load. Can't imagine running to her level of speed and distance like that.

Great talent and looks!
Did you say looks?!
@@marknewton6984 she is one of the very few sprinters that look good. an she looks real good! And when it comes to running, she does not monkey around.
She seems to have normal stride length, but incredible step speed. Almost seems as fast as 5 strides for her against 4 for everyone else.
Foot turnover is one of those things that separates good from great. I'm not sure if it can be taught or if you are just born with it but some people just have that extra gear.
yes, and exactly that part regarding her step speed smells like doping. I've seen such step on Yordanka Donkova, Ginka Zagortcheva (hurdles but it doesn't matter) from what I can recall, that was all doping in the 'good ole days' of dope. I remind everyone, if it's not on the list, it's not officially a dope...until it gets on the list. all the stuff on the list, there was a time when it still wasn't on the list. labs are one step ahead
You go white girl!❤
Her core from neck to hips is solid and doesn't move. Only arms and legs, little to no transverse motion from hips as she move her legs. This is not only efficient in moving energy from top to bottom her stability cuts through friction like no one else. GREAT JOB!!!
Wow. Excellent video on an excellent subject. I would love to hear her speak on her thoughts prior to and during the races.
Also, she is a beautiful & strong young woman.
