    Fantastic soundtrack
    Ha, Tommy was my brother's best friend in HS. Cruise brought Rebecca DeMorney to my parents' house (in GR) in his brand new white BMW 320 Sports. He came by after the film was made, but before the film was released. He knew it was going to be huge. DeMorney was a Playboy or Penthouse model before the film.
    Bill made a good call about Timothy Hutton. Cruise was so fired up to work with him. Hutton, Penn, Tommy all partied in Philly (at UPenn) during the filming for that. Cruise was buddies & hung with Penn in NYC, I believe he also dated Cher while Penn was dating Madonna around the era.
    If Bill ever wants some true Hollywood stories he just needs to buy me a lager at R&D on Montana.

    If I can survive multiple seasons of Romo and Collinsworth I can survive this much superior version for several more episodes. Never stop. Need a Collinsworth/Romo Award for scene that most needs a narrator to help thr audience keep things straight. Basically the scene that make you go "wait, what just happened?"

    Rebecca De Mornay lacked warmth. Hollywood gave up on her as a "star" in '88 when she headlined two total failures- "And God Created Women" and "Feds". CR forgot to mention her biggest rivals Michelle Pfeiffer and Kim Basinger. Rebecca was finished by the mid-'90s.

      @stephennicholas1590 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cameron’s house is literally like four hundred ft away around the corner from Joel Goodson’s house.
      That neighborhood sure gets a lot of action when it comes to movies.
      About two blocks away is the house from Ordinary People which was a masterpiece.
      And all three houses in Weird Science are in that neighborhood as well.
      One of the nicest neighborhoods on the whole planet thanks to the wonder of Capitalism.
      Under communism everyone suffers immensely.

    Speaking of movies with overt symbolism, I saw Starship Troopers at like 14 or 15, and to me it was just an awesome space marine movie that had boobs. I saw it like a decade later and was astonished at the near-heavy handed themes slapping the audience in the face for much of the movie.
    Hoping you eventually do this movie.

    Lord of the flies is a great comp for this. I watched risky business for the first time when I was probably 15 years old and it was one of the first times I remember liking a movie for its symbolism/subtext. There was so much I didn’t understand at the time, but still very digestible and entertaining. Plus everyone knows the old time rock n roll scene! Still one of my favorite movies today!

    Who else finds it weird that Bill didn't want to even name what his step dads car was? CR obviously was thinking the same thing like what's the point of keeping it a secret? Only reason I wouldn't want to name it is if I caught my step dad plowing my mom in it. Otherwise give the listeners what they want

      Well my perspective was that his Dad had unrealistic expectations of him. Joel wasn't dumb. He just wasn't an elite student. He certainly could have gotten into the University of Illinois which is a good school. Therefore, the comment, looks like the University of Illinois. So I guess what I'm saying is that I see Joel as guy who just felt insecure because he was an only child and a lot of was expected of him.

    Rebecca DeMornay definitely won this movie over Tom Cruise. She's the most memorable character in the movie over Cruise, who just went on to have a bigger career--I can't speak for female viewers, but which man who saw this movie doesn't just go ga-ga over RDM seeing this movie? It's too bad and a mystery she didn't become a bigger star, what a travesty.
