I so enjoy your videos Elo. Never apologize for being real. You are an amazing, talented lady. As an American with only one language I am impressed beyond words with your English. I don't even know sign language so forgetting a word occasionally is totally ok. 😅 I watch you because you are so inspirational and passionate about your craft. I pray your energy increases everyday and you are 100% restored to health. Big hug 🫂 🤗 ❤️
Woooow! I… I am just speechless! Thank you! Wow! I sometimes forget to be nice with myself 😅 I do love crafts and I’m glad to hear that it shows through the screen 😊 lots of love, Elo ❤️❤️❤️
Elo that blue sweater is so beautiful. I really enjoyed seeing your early projects and your rabbits are so adorable. They just bring a smile to your face. I loved listening to your story about your Grandma. I’m sorry to hear about you health troubles. I can totally understand what you’re going through. Fatigue is the worst but I’m also very grateful because it could be so much worse. Have a great two weeks and I look forward to watching again.
That doll and especially those bunnies were the cutest. I watch knitting podcasts because I haven’t found knitters nearby me who feel the same way I do about all the lovely yarns and wanting to knit all the things. I will crochet a basket also. Thank you for your lovely podcast.
That is the exact same reason I started watching podcast way back when! Don’t have so many people around me who are that “crazy“ about the yarn and craft! Thank you for spending some time with me ❤️
You are such a treasure. I loved seeing your early projects. What a great school system that teaches such skills. Please don't waste your time comparing to others. God made you special with your talents. If you get complaints just remember it's their problem not yours. I'm very thankful for all that you share.
Aww! Thank you so much! This truly means a lot to me ❤️ Yes, I always loved the handicraft lessons, and the in depth knowledge that we were taught. I consider myself very lucky. I try not to take it personally, when I get less kind comments/complaints, but I’m just human and sometimes they get to me. So, thank you for your kind and supportive words ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Elo 👋Another great podcast! I've had a bit of a rubbish day, and watching your video and listening to your calming voice has certainly helped, so thank you. I love how you try to downplay your knitting skills, then show us a beautiful hat that you not only knitted as a teenager, but which you also designed yourself!!! Doesn't matter what you say, you are an incredibly talented knitter. Once again, I loved the knit with me segment at the end and I'm so happy to hear that you are feeling more positive about the future, and your health (and quirky is good!). And no way does your grandma look 102! You definitely have good genes. Looking forward to the next one, take care, Jo x
Sorry to hear about you having a rubbish day, but glad I could be a positive voice for you ❤️ I guess I’ve just always been so used to looking up to people, that I’ve never considered myself to be as good. But I’m learning to see my strengths and talents. And this podcast is really helpful in that regard. Thank you for spending some of your precious time with me. Love ❤️
Oh I love your colours in your Twists & Turns the pop of colour is looking the most gorgeous GOLD on my screen here. I love it!!! I love how the icords look against the lighter colour. Stunning 💕
Yes! I Really do love my colour choice 🤩 To me it looks a bit sophisticated and artistic at the same time. And there was no question in my mind in regards of the I- cords. I just HAD to have them! It ties all the elements so nicely together 🧶🤍🪙
Another engaging, inspiring episode! You've made me think differently about my scraps! I now want to make some thing similar to your notions pouch, but also that amazing basket! Thanks for the inspo :) Also, the blue jumper you made and the comments around following patterns and thinking for ourselves is a potential game changer for me. I think I needed a reminder to think outside of the box! Blessings to your Grandma!
Thank you! I’m amazed at your perseverance of watching “all of my episodes” in one go 🥇 I find that at times I need a reminder myself, that we can alternate and not be too stuck on the instructions as they are first and foremost guidelines 🤩 Love Elo ♥️
Fabulous podcast as always ❣️🧶❣️you are such a lovely and massively talented person with beautiful sincerity ❣️loved seeing your early works and your wonderful Grandmother too!! 🎉 I must say your Twists and Turns is THE best combo of colours I have seen yet - truly fantastic!!! Thank you many times over for your inspiration even on the self care front 🥰🙏🥰❣️❣️❣️💃🧶
What a blessing to have your grandmother reach the age of 102! She’s a beauty and what an inspiration! I enjoyed seeing your first knits. It just goes to show how capable and creative kids can be when they are taught the skills. I enjoy your podcast and seeing what you’ve been making, especially the things you’ve figured out for yourself. I hope that you are able to gain strength and be able to do all the things that bring you enjoyment.
The navy sweater you re-engineered is quite simply amazing!!! I am hoping to do something similar for a classic Aran sweater that my son purchased (and loves).
Love your video. Love the wool you chose for the Stephen west shawl, beautiful. Would love to visit norway one day. The things your mom has seen is unbelievable. Love all your knits.
Thank you! Very happy with the end result myself. And yes, my grandmother has lived through so much, and has had a rather rich life. She has brought a lot of joy to my life through creating with her hands 🥰
Those early socks are adorable and there is SO much right and good about them even more so that you were so young! Great job! It's great you still have them. I don't have anything I knitted when I was young. I knitted a striped cardigan at 10 and a cabled dress at 16 I don't think there are even photos of me wearing them?
I am very happy for that as well. I have them thanks to my mum 🥰 But I, like you, haven’t got pictures of maaaany big knitted garments, that I knitted way back when. It wasn’t as easy to take pictures back then as it is now. Do you have a Ravelry page? Or instagram? Would love to see your makes.
Thank you Elo, again, for another wonderful video podcast😘 I was so happy to actually converse with you, in your live podcast! You are very easy to listen (and Knit) with 🙂. Your calm voice, and kind manner shows through, and is appreciated💝! You are very talented and have much knitting knowledge, that is very helpful to me!! You are inspirational and I cannot wait until your next video. Take good care and I will say a prayer, that you will heal and feel better 💜🙏
You are a sweetheart Karen. Thank you so much! And if you are going to end up coming to Norway, feel free to get in touch! Maybe one day we can chat in real life 😘
@@aknitterssoul Thank you Elo, 😘. Absolutely will get in touch with you if we ever travel to Norway 🇳🇴. How wonderful it’d be to chat with you, in person 🥰
Hello Elo, sorry I missed your LIVE it was 2am here. So glad youtube keeps the videos stored so I can watch now. Oh thank you, it was a great episode and fun chatting with each of you too 💖
Thank you for again a very lovely and inspirational podcast. I love your voice; it is very nice to listen to you. And I absolutely love those cute bunnies! Maybe I am gonna make one some day. Have a great Sunday and I hope to see you again soon !
Hi Elo! I'm also from South Africa and my home language is Afrikaans. I don't think I will ever be a confident podcaster😀. Love seeing SA yarn like Cowgirlblues on international podcasts! Your projects are lovely. I was so privileged to visit Norway in 2019 for Bergen Strikkefestival and can't wait to go back! A highlight was visiting Hillesvag mill. Gilly from Fjordfibres is also from South Africa. She's got beautiful yarn! Happy crafting, Adele
Oh how fun that you are joining me from “the opposite” side of the world. I love how the internet connects us! I actually didn’t realise that the Cowgirlblues were from SA up until right before I recorded my last podcast. I actually got the skeins via my sister, who lives in Finland 😅 I knew that Gilly wasn’t Norwegian, but didn’t know that her roots are from SA! How fun! I actually have some of her yarn 🤩 Thank you for spending some of your precious time with me 😊🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for sharing so much of your creative life with us. I was delighted to see your first colourwork socks and hat. Adorable. I was struck by your generous thoughts on how we often feel that we cannot make the beautiful things that others do. I have become nervous of trying what I see as knitting that is too complicated: I am menopausal and no longer have the head space for it. But, in my younger days I made all sorts of things, including a Kaffe Fasset fair isle vest, that is almost complete but is sitting in a bag somewhere. I would love so much to bring it out and complete it. I have also knitted alot of textural pieces and cables etc, that now I do not see as being something that I can do. Maybe my intention for my knitting for next year could be to re-visit this and see what I can do, even in a small way. I am currently practicing socks, and as I always get stuck at the heel, I am seeing how I get on with afterthought heels instead. I want very much to feel that I can do them well and make them as gifts. Little hugs for peoples feet :)
Oh wow! Thank you for wonderful feedback and for sharing so much about you! I can recognise myself in so much of what you are describing! I do want to tell both you and I, that we can still do all those “difficult things”! I am thinking of starting a KAL at the beginning of the year for UFOs! That could maybe be a wonderful time for you to revisit your Kaffe Fasset fair isle vest? And I love how you describe socks as little hugs to one’s feet! 🦶 🤗 ❤️
Hi Elo, thank you for the podcast, and keeping it real, I do not think you should edit too much, just be yourself. I too am suffering with a chronic fatigue issue, it is hard for others to understand that thinking, or finding the right words can be hard when you are so tired, it is not a visible disability like physical injuries. I find knitting, making some small adjustments to patterns, and watching others knit and crochet restful, and a social interaction I can cope with, while waiting for energy to return 🤞. I hope you have as smooth a run up to the Christmas madness as is possible, and can enjoy the season. It is sad that the very elderly can have reasonably healthy bodies but a declining grasp of reality, my grandmother had Alzeheimers the last few years in a nursing home, but at least she was well cared for, even if she kept thinking that I was my mother when I visited her, I knew it was better for me to keep visiting, and not correct her. Your grandmother looks like a wonderful 102 year old. I have been able to enjoy Kylie's lovely speckled Fibrelily colourways for years, kind wishes from Australia.
Just by reading your comment, I feel super seen and heard. So thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️ I too rest, when I have knitting in my hands. It gives me so much joy. Thank you for taking time out of your day to spend with me and for your beautiful comment ❤️
Masse kjærlighet i maskene.
Hi Elo, it's Anne from Australia and that was a great catch up I enjoyed it too. I'm still here but this is my updated TH-cam channel, just wanted to let you know I haven't disappeared, love your channel and all your episodes ❣
I love your “new name”. I will for sure come and have a look at your channel as soon as you’ve posted something! PS! Thank you for your kind words ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for your knitting video at the end. I slowed it down to get a good idea as I see it on various podcasts but I forget I can slow it down. I am determined to have a go at this European or Norwegian style of knitting. I am a "thrower" for over 50 years so wish me luck
I’m sure you are a fast thrower though? I’ve seen some amazing English style knitters who knit as fast, or even faster, then some continental knitters. Fun fact, according to my mum, my grandmother was a thrower!
hello elo - this is libby, from utah - your newest fan girl. i thought i would binge watch your old videos, but each and every one is so packed full of goodness, that i am now metering myself as to when i watch a back episode. you bring such a quiet grace with your exceptional talents to this community, and are simply a joy to watch. i'm always struck with how norwegian and baltic country women learn their basic knitting skills in school. i think this should apply universally, but sadly, is not - is this still done today? hope so. i look for opportunities to teach young kids how to knit, and note how they are always eager to learn. your childhood masterpieces are just that - so precious, and so indicative of the master knitter that you now are. the sweater you knit for 'your man' (such a charming expression!), is testimony to these skills for sure. thanks for sharing. and that place mat - wow! and the sweater you are wearing - yes! - it looks like a china plate. thank you so much for sharing with us - cheers x
Sweet, sweet Libby! You are super kind! I am basking in your kind and warm words. It means the world. Thank you 🙏🏻 I find that there is too little taught at Norwegian public schools, when it comes to crafts. At least that is my understanding after observing what our kids where taught. The girls learnt the knit stitch at school and I taught the purl stitch. Luckily there are loads of tutorials readily available online these days. I’m not 100% sure what the situation is at the Estonian schools or today, but I do hope that they have uphold some of the qualities from the “old days” 😅 Thank you again for the kind feedback! Lots of love 💕 Elo
I love your sweater I think the China you referred to is Wedgewood. I have finished clue one and taking a break to knit more of a cardigan before returning to my twists and turns.
I see it as chatting without another human responding in real life, we are typing responses when we listen and that can be hard to keep talking because it is not natural to do all the talking. You are not coming across in any bad way at all. Keep going, your videos are very warm and personal which is lovely, especially your history chats.
I walked the dog while listening and I’m home now full of energy😂❤️. I’ve loaded the battery now and will start with some projects now. Also I notised that I have missed E3 which I will start listening to immediately👌❤ Thank you ❤️
How fun to know that I can also function as just a podcast to be listened to 😘 thank you for bringing me along to your walk ❤️ wishing you a lovely knit time! 🧶❤️😊
I can't believe you DESIGNED that pattern and hat as a teenager. Do you all learn to knit so young? I started at 4 but my mother didn't knit colourwork so I never learnt. It is on my list of projects for 2023
That sounds like a wonderful goal! I am actually thinking of arranging a KAL of stranded colour work… nothing crazy or big… will let you know in my next podcast if I’m going to go ahead with that idea 😉😊
Loved this podcast - I'm working on a sweater in fisherman's rib for my granddaughter, so it is quite a slow project, and your long podcast helped to make my knitting go more smoothly. I'm using Drops Karisma, which is lovely to work with, so I could enjoy your knitting, particularly your 3 bunnies which are adorable! I was very interested in the close up of your knitting process at the end of the video, and look forward to your next episode.
Thank you Rosemary! Fisherman’s rib is so beautiful, but yes, time consuming. Glad I could make your knitting go smoother 😊 I like drops Karisma very much. Have actually a project planned with it! Are you following a particular pattern?
@@aknitterssoul Thanks - I am using a Sirdar pattern 10555 - a ribbed sweater with half zip, which is the closest I could find to the picture that my granddaughter sent me, requesting me to make it for her!! My daughter and granddaughter have just emigrated from UK to Bergen, so I am making 2 warm sweaters each for them!
@@aknitterssoul She loved other parts of Scandinavia and thought Norway looked beautiful, so started to learn Norwegian, and now works as a nurse in a care home. My granddaughter (aged 11) has also picked up the language quickly and they both love living there. I can't wait to visit them in the New Year.

I love open baskets with current projects sitting next to my chair or my bed or my desk so I can easily grab and do a row or two BUT we've had terrible mouse problems here for two years and ALL of my projects that were not in closed containers were ruined by mice. 😭😭😭 I still love baskets and am working hard to block mice from getting in but I think they are friends of Harry Potter and use flew powder 🤣🤣🤣
I’m so sorry to hear about your mouse problem! I remember having mice in the apartment I grew up, but have been spared from them since 🤞🏼 And yes, they might just be friends of HP 😅
I think you can stop talking yourself down. Unfortunately many girls are taught to not act like they are anything special and we women take that into adulthood. Talking about your work is GREAT and you have very worthy work to talk about. 💖
Thank you love! I think you are sadly very right. This is partially why it took me several years from when I first thought of podcasting and then actually doing it.
Yes, I would think the postage stays the same. Fiber Lily had a great offer of 15% off on your first order, but it just adds up to a bit too much for now. But it’s all good. One day I’ll splurge and until then I’ll just dream a little 😊
Hei! Du får ta den ut av skammekroken! Er så verdt det! Blir så kul, så kul til slutt! Og ja? Håper vi får til å møtes! Gleder meg veldig til den dagen!
Your knitted dolls reminds me my daughter17 has requested that I knit her future children a doll who is pregnant and can give birth to the baby doll 🤭 I will need to think about that one for a bit....🤣🤣🤣
Oh wow! Funny you would mention that! I just recently saw a reel on instagram that was just that! It was crochet, but yes, the doll did all that! Gave birth to twins, had umbilical cord, placenta, etc!
Kansje dansk hand dyed garn kunne bruge? Kan rekommandere A knitters World, KnitbyMoltrup, Sysleriget, Garngalleriet Mikrofarveri.
Tusen takk for alle gode ord.

Så hyggelig at du stakk innom igjen! 🥰
@@aknitterssoul yes I believe both styles can be fast. What I think about your style is that it might be easier on my hands and wrists?
hello elo - this is libby, from utah - your newest fan girl. i thought i would binge watch your old videos, but each and every one is so packed full of goodness, that i am now metering myself as to when i watch a back episode. you bring such a quiet grace with your exceptional talents to this community, and are simply a joy to watch.
i'm always struck with how norwegian and baltic country women learn their basic knitting skills in school. i think this should apply universally, but sadly, is not - is this still done today? hope so. i look for opportunities to teach young kids how to knit, and note how they are always eager to learn. your childhood masterpieces are just that - so precious, and so indicative of the master knitter that you now are. the sweater you knit for 'your man' (such a charming expression!), is testimony to these skills for sure. thanks for sharing. and that place mat - wow! and the sweater you are wearing - yes! - it looks like a china plate. thank you so much for sharing with us - cheers x
Sweet, sweet Libby! You are super kind! I am basking in your kind and warm words. It means the world. Thank you 🙏🏻
I find that there is too little taught at Norwegian public schools, when it comes to crafts. At least that is my understanding after observing what our kids where taught. The girls learnt the knit stitch at school and I taught the purl stitch. Luckily there are loads of tutorials readily available online these days. I’m not 100% sure what the situation is at the Estonian schools or today, but I do hope that they have uphold some of the qualities from the “old days” 😅
Thank you again for the kind feedback!
Lots of love 💕
Elo
I love your sweater I think the China you referred to is Wedgewood. I have finished clue one and taking a break to knit more of a cardigan before returning to my twists and turns.
I am done with my Twist&Turns MKAL, and am very happy with the result ❤️ Happy knitting!
Tusen ❤️-lig takk for varme ord 😍😘❤️
Takk for hyggelig strikkestund med deg 🍁🧶🍂God høst videre
Takk for at du kikket innom 😊 ❤️🙏🏻
Yes postage is hard to and from Australia, we are just so far away from everyone in the northern hemisphere.
That is unfortunate, but understanding. Nice to see you again 😘😊❤️
I see it as chatting without another human responding in real life, we are typing responses when we listen and that can be hard to keep talking because it is not natural to do all the talking. You are not coming across in any bad way at all. Keep going, your videos are very warm and personal which is lovely, especially your history chats.
❤️❤️❤️
I walked the dog while listening and I’m home now full of energy😂❤️. I’ve loaded the battery now and will start with some projects now. Also I notised that I have missed E3 which I will start listening to immediately👌❤
Thank you ❤️
How fun to know that I can also function as just a podcast to be listened to 😘 thank you for bringing me along to your walk ❤️ wishing you a lovely knit time! 🧶❤️😊

Tusen takk! Det samme også til deg! 🎄❄️🧸
Tusen takk Hildegunn! En fin, fin november også til deg 😊❤️🙏🏻

That sweater looks very cosy! Lucky granddaughter 🥰 what brought your granddaughters to Bergen!? If I may ask

Love your podcast, you are so inspiring! I really love your scrappy baskets, wonder if yarn and fabric strips might work?🤔
Thank you! 😊❤️🙏🏻 I would love to see how fabric strips and yarn interact together in a project like that 😃
@@aknitterssoul ok will tag you if i try it, i am a bit obsessed with yours lol
Lol! Looking forward to seeing yours, if you decide to make one 😊
@@aknitterssoul 🐭🪄🤣
I think you can stop talking yourself down. Unfortunately many girls are taught to not act like they are anything special and we women take that into adulthood. Talking about your work is GREAT and you have very worthy work to talk about. 💖
Thank you love! I think you are sadly very right. This is partially why it took me several years from when I first thought of podcasting and then actually doing it.
@@aknitterssoul you’re breaking free from that old habit simply by podcasting ❤️🎉🎉🎉
😘😘😘
Hi, love the podcast. Jude Harper of Stranded dye works, an indie dyer in Scotland, UK, is offering free postage worldwide, just this weekend xx
Oooo!!! Thank you for the tip! Will definitely have a look straight away! Thank you Pam! ❤️❤️❤️
Your man's sentimental jumper/sweater looks wonderful. How did he feel when you gave it to him?
I remember him being very “proud” and happy. As it was a recreation of something he valued highly, by somebody he loves.
Thank you! That is so kind of you to say! 😘
you might also like to try YarnByJane in Australia she has special one-off dyes that are less expensive. postage would probably be the same though?
Yes, I would think the postage stays the same. Fiber Lily had a great offer of 15% off on your first order, but it just adds up to a bit too much for now. But it’s all good. One day I’ll splurge and until then I’ll just dream a little 😊
@@aknitterssoul Yes I understand, that's how I am with yarns from the northern hemisphere

@@aknitterssoul my daughter probably saw it 😂
Kansje dansk hand dyed garn kunne bruge? Kan rekommandere A knitters World, KnitbyMoltrup, Sysleriget, Garngalleriet Mikrofarveri. Jeg kender ikke Porto dog ❤️❤️❤️
Takk for tips!
Tusen takk for alle gode ord.

Oh no! I did not know that!!! Thank you for letting me know ❤️
@JoCreativePlans-I’m not getting any ads when viewing this podcast and never had. Perhaps it’s because you are not subscribed to premium version of TH-cam?
