@@VideoTasties Guess what. Adios Eldorado sold quite well for the BBC. It was in the WH Smith Video chart for quite a few weeks. The BBC had Animal Hospital doing rounds on VHS as well, which did exceptionally well with sales that a second video was released.
The complete Eldorado is all on TH-cam to watch for free, there is no DVD release, the BBC never bothered with it after the mid 2000s since it was last shown on UKGOLD.
God, I remember seeing that Watch With Mother tape over a neighbours in the 80's! At the time "Sausage Dog" made me laugh... I just looked it up, and yes, the whole video has been uploaded to TH-cam... Sausage Dog still makes me laugh... not to mention Bill and Ben and the not so subtle drug references ; pretty progressive for the 50's!
How's that house extension coming on VT? Quiz Show. Redford's drama about the ethics of the entertainment industry. Quite a good film with Paul Scofield giving another decent role as the father figure trying to salvage the son from total disaster. Frequency was rather good. The concept for the story certainly worked well, even though it's been done before, but not as slickly. The director of Frequency did Primal Fear with Richard Gere, and I'm no fan of the Gere, but Primal Fear was fairly solid.
@VideoTasties I'm running out of room myself. Just built my final shelf with some cheapish B&Q wood. I'm not far off completing my collection. But I'm still in the midst of watching films. That's the biggest challenge, watching the stuff you've bought.
Rab c nesbit is tops. I watched some of those eps on iplayer last year. Like the humour and the way it is written. I'm yet to watch sherly valentine. But I will get around to it
I recall the media gloating about how Eldorado got flattened in the ratings by Three Men & A Baby on ITV. Surprised to see it made it onto VHS
Same here if no one was watching who would wan to buy it
