Chris....if anyone was born to run heavy equipment, it is you. Your an adult kid living out a passion and nice enough to share it with all of us....thanks.
It's always such a treat to watch you at work, sometimes the simplest jobs provide the best viewing. You are so talented at what you do. Love all the video's.
i could seriously watch you for hours! love all the videos! we got some old equipment on the farm, 1952 D4 and a late 70's ford backhoe. little tricky to run since you gotta think 100 steps ahead because everything is wore out. cant wait to take a crack at a newer machines!
I really need to trade up my baby Kubota BX23 and start having some REAL toys to play with... Love your vids... Im known as the 'Tractor Lady' in my neighborhood... always helping folks out with holes, trenching and spreading.. the little BX is actually a perfect size for small residential use.
Damn Chris you make work look fun. I drive trucks and I hate it when the winter comes because they don't need many truck drivers making trips to the processing plant.
Used to operate 310sg with pilot controls instead of stick. Could switch back n forth from backhoe to excator control. Once your used to exc. you never use backhoe again. That 310sg had more power than ever needed. :)
Oh no, exc is backwards. I have run an exc and a JD 510. Much simpler to curl the bucket and crowd the dipper with one hand and bump the boom up with the other when cleaning a ditch. Left hand left-right and up-down. Right hand curl-uncurl and in-out.
Chris you seem a little too froggy in this video, maybe under the influence and a bit reckless 🤪.. I love your work and you are an entertaining guy 😂 glad you and the backhoe survived 💥
I love the John Deere backhoes, we've had many over the years. One piece of advice, don't set the parking brake when using the hoe. Put it in neutral and you will see that the tires free spin when they're off the ground. You can wear out the parking brake this way, and damage the internals this way.
MrPlow_2841 good point. I usually don't but one time I was on a hill and when to go to move. curled up the boom and as soon as I had the out riggers about half way up it took off rolling backwards. ended up half over the edge into a fire pile before I got it stopped. that was scary and interesting to get out while the boom was in the fire!
company i worked for had a 410d that they broke the parking brake on by digging with it set and dragging the machine. i always leave it off. at least one stabilizer stays down until i spin my seat around and am on the brakes. same goes for setting up. i start putting them down as I'm backing into place and are set before i spin the seat around then just shove myself around with the hoe to line up with what I'm digging.
And he know's how to replace the silly little parking brake & other little internal things that have to be replaced!! he's been doing this stuff before a lot of people figured how to ride their stupid bikes!!!
if I won 20 mill on a lottery , I would send you down a bunch of logging harvesting equipment just for the pleasure of watching you have fun working with them . would be worth every penny . spare parts not included . :P
Wow, I started in the early 80's doing every thing you do now, including digging graves. I get such enjoyment watching you. What State are you in? I truly enjoy watching you. John
Seems like you know your stuff. I'm about to purchase a backhoe, what would you recommend to check when buying used? leaks of course but what should I test? Thanks, Shawn
Still love a good backhoe! I do a bunch of " backwards excavation" too, lmao! To use a backhoe to its potential, you need too. Step on the tree with your stabilizer, and break the tree with the bucket by pulling up on it
A company that I use to work for had a small sand pit. The owner kept a Deere 410 in there for us to use to load our tandem wheelers and tri-axles with. It was old and beaten, but it worked.
Next time you swap the backhoe for a new one, Consider the Huddig backhoe....Cant find another backhoe that beats Huddig in terrain an with an rototilt on you wouldnt want to go back to anything else.
Slow down, don't take it the wrong way but I like your channel and have been a subscriber for a while now, but working like that will only invite an accident.
For people with not too many hours doesnt understand that he have full control even when it seems he doesnt. He have been driving this machines since he was a kid.
not saying he is inexperienced, but over confidence and that may cause him to come unstuck. Smashing the arm against the tree was not good for the machine. As soon as you loose respect for a machine it's to late.
Well thats your opinion. U got u own company? He got his own, whatever way he wants to drive in just accept it no need for warnings he knows. I think he is pretty aware on his operator style. Its too late for what? You can see his machines many of them are in good shapes even the old ones.... If you take care of it they can handle pretty much you know.

I've pulled over 60 trees from my friend's yard just this past year. Mostly pines. Did some drainage improvements too. This is pure fun!

Amazing again Chris, clearing trees with JD Backhoe going very smooth 😎
Had this come suggested in 2023, what a treat!!

Wow and I Thought my Backhoe was loud with a Glass Pack on it ! Good job !
never been a big fan of backhoes but can imagine it would be cosy on a rainy day haha

Videos are great, keep em coming. I'd love to operate full-time...
Backhoes are so damn handy I use them for everything
I notice your operating Deere controls. Your the man if you run both.
I've done that a time or two on a mini excavator without a thumb!!! Great job Chris you love to burn stuff just like me!!!!!
Just found this one 7 years later lol. Who is the fresh faced youngster on the Backhoe? lol
Me too, his language is a little saltier in these old videos lol.
He's come a long way
Chris you seem a little too froggy in this video, maybe under the influence and a bit reckless 🤪.. I love your work and you are an entertaining guy 😂 glad you and the backhoe survived 💥

I had a similar situation happen with wet grass and our 240 John Deere excavator when I was younger. Stuff like that never leaves ya.

But why spend the money, time and effort to replace something in which you can and should make last as long as you can? Down time = money lost.

deal!
@@letsdig18 haha lol

dhris take as much time AS YOU NEED TO
You're videos are awesome but this one made laugh when your not so serious and kinda having a good time!!..lol
Love your commentary in this video.
Nice video Chris.
letsdig18 question for you? why do you put the front bucked on float when you dig?
its just a habbit of when I park it.
what pattern you’re using?
Chris, I believe you were having a GOOD time!
Why did you take out those trees and burn them?
Poetry in motion, even with the little bitty deere.
Cool you get but also each tree down pressed no matter how big it is you makes the tree mercilessly down
Chris, Have you started building your house yet? Thanks for the video!
next month
So which would you say is more efficient for a novice for clearing trees; the Excavator or backhoe ~ THANK!
Mike E excavator all the way.
9:43......"ohhh shit." LMAO!

There some decent power in them Deere backhoe look a lot better then jcb
you seem really happy :D
Running with a long tree sticking out the side, you're torquing the bucket/stick/boom pretty hard, have you noticed any problems with that?
another great video and it looks like your in a good mood. And I forgot do you operate the backhoe on SAE or ISO?
Deere pattern
Don't you run CAT on your ex though? I wish i could do both. If i ever even try to do Deere controls my brain just shuts down
i can run both. when I was little I could run deere but now I run sae
my dad gets mad at me when I change the pattern and he asked me y did you switch? And the reason I did cause letsdig18 inspired me to use his pattern
6:16 "Hey root how you doin'?" - We are ROOTIN for you!
