I'm a mechanic in New Zealand. We had an audi v6 car that bust the high pressure line from the power steering pump to the steering rack. We had a hose made up by the local hose doctor and fitted it and it whined really badly. The customer said it hadn't been whining before. the only thing we had changed was the hose. We found the old hose and compared them the old hose had a zig-zag strip the full length of the hose . Its there to change the harmonics of the oil in the and absorbs the whining noise.
John, about your noise. I am no equipment expert, but I do know hydraulics. You taken the cutter off line so thats not the noise. It sounds like a bad bearing in your hydraulics pump. The bad bearing would not make noise with no load. You do have a noise with a cutter load.. Hard cap the hydraulic lines to the cutter and see how the pump sounds with the lines blocked. Put some pressure on the pump. Good luck. Great show and really enjoy how you all work togeather.
John , high pitch whine starts when high flow is on, seems like it would be worth asv checking a restrictive hyd line (maybe to small) or a inline screen or hyd filter . The new 130 pump may build more pressure in those same size lines then the old 120 pump. you could also turn your gal per minute down to confirm if whine gets softer it is restrictive hyd line or turn up whine get loud same
I have been watching you for over a year now I love how you make it look not like the guys who use a brush hog and leaves all the stubble everywhere your work is very nice
Re watching to reminisce the days with the old "A" team......miss those guys . I miss the ASV and fecon too. Oh well, time marches on. Great videos !........👍
Hey Guys, Rod from Greenville here. I drive past this corner several times during the day on my route. I was thinking that looks like a job done by Upstate Brush. I must have missed you or I would said Hey. Your work sure speaks for itself. Thanks because it was always hard to pull out on Floyd due to the brush. I see you somewhere soon.
Took all of a few seconds to realize that your hearing will be bad like mine if you don't start wearing some hearing protection, that machine is is going to give you Tinnitus.....
Wingsandbeaks here from Oklahoma ~ I have missed your channel since my iPad was stolen and finally found you. You guys are great! I pray your health and well being is lining up with God’s Word, nothing missing, nothing broken. Shalom.
It sounds like a bearing, I had one go on the front wheel of one of my car's, sounded just like this when it got up to speed. I see the no rubbish dumping signed are as affective as they are in the UK. 🤗 Nice to see everyone out and earning money, nice job 👍
There are two separate whining sounds. There is one that sounds like an air-raid shelter sound that followers activity and then there is the working high-pitched sound. Air-mix ratios? Do you use air to cool the machine?
Hi Jon, another great performance from your guys, the transformation even at this stage is staggering. I know absolutely nothing about skid steers apart they do a tremendous job and I would love to drive one. On the matter of the wine you are experiencing, I think you've got to put that down to the individual characteristics of that model. Clean up and on to the next one.
Your new ASV 135 seems to work fine. I heard the noise.... and it could be a valve in the new higher flow pump not yet registered to your existing cutter. It will work out in time. Best wishes.
Hey bud I was just watching this video and it reminded me of a time. I had a close friend chasing a high pitched vibration noise. He thought he has a real serious issue and it exes up being just one loose bolt on a skid plate. Sounded like the whole machine was coming apart and had us scared to death, but it was just the belly skid plate vibrating.
23:5523:58 Turn up the radio really loud the sound will stop. Ok joking aside deffently sounds like hydrlics. I remember cnc mills would make that sound maybe the lines are too small for the pumps pressures.
Hey John first I'd say you and crew work fantastic together workmanship and passion are well defined. Your issue is conneticly integrated into the parts supplied by the manufacturer. For example I BOUGHT A MACHINE THAT STARTED TOO SMOKE OIL NOT LONG AFTER IT WAS BOUGHT. THE DEALER HAD TO COMPLETELY BREAK DOUN MOTOR. THEN CALLED THE MANUFACTUR OF MOTOR TO INSPECT THERE FINDINGS. TURNS OUT THE PISTON RINGS WERE PUT IN UPSIDE DOWN LOL TALK ABOUT A MOSQUITO SPRAYER.
Jon, my first thought is pump cavitation. The suction line and/or screen is not allowing unimpeded flow to the pump. That will tear up a pump. Also, reduced oil to the pump will result in lower power.
I think you have a good suggestion here - as it answers both his symptoms: the noise and the low power. In line screens partially plugged with a scrap of plastic packaging on new equipment can cause erratic/low performance - all caused at the factory during the build. Could be. Bad fitting as well that’s deformed. Again- I think you are in the right track.
I can appreciate the constructive criticism about your new ASV, you've spent hard earned money and you want to ensure that you are getting what you have paid for; much respect to you and the team. I've definitely been in your shoes before, keep up the great work though!
@@UpstateBrushControl speaking of safe....am curious... what's the biggest tree this monster might take on? Hi Josh, I am beginning to be a fan. Been Following you guys for about a month now. Think I have seen most of the videos. I will be ordering a hat next month
Pump cavitation? We use to run Komatsu excavators. If there was no pressure in the hydraulic tank. 8-10 PSI the pumps would howl like this. That little bit of pressure would help feed the pumps.
All the crew did a fantastic job on this piece of property,I’m amazed how much difference it changed the looks.neighbors probably complain about it looking to nice, shows up all the houses and other property.on the machine let the experts go over it as many times it takes and still not to your liking, tell them you want another machine.if that makes same noise.that means it’s all in your head,uh huh.that’s the problem LOL.keep doing your thing and carry on.always could get some stress relief and shoot at it.just saying that’s an idea, then worry about that later.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎🌲🌲🌲🌲
it sounds like there may be a problem with a vane in one of the pumps, the whine is louder/rougher whenever the head is under load, if there is no issues within the flow or valves then that would be my guess
Youn say you set it up to run with the (CPU) it sounds like the setting are not right, and the pump is trying to pump more oil than what you need ,cutting it back to 43 might be the problem. Check and see if you can cut the flow back like that sound like the pump is stressed out .

John, having worked on and around equipment many times before, it seems to me that the whining you are hearing is coming from improper bearing tolerances in the pump. It sounds like the hydraulic gear pump has a cavitation problem, several things can contribute; clearance with the internal gears, flow returning being restricted, faulty pressure control, bearing, value, seal or coupling. Check your hydraulic reservoir, for froth in the oil (lots of air foam), which would be indictive of a loose intake pick up line. I am inclined to believe that a intake line is sucking air. The noise sounds like cavitation
Sometimes, I stress sometimes, the quick couple connection can be faulty in either the male or female side of the connection point, can limit flow or set up a turbulence in the flow of oil, I have experienced this in hydraulic systems and it drives you nuts trying to track it down. Just a thought sir, thanks for the ride along, even with the screamin.
My bobcat would sound like that when the hydraulic fluild was cold and thick. Honestly, that sounds like a flow problem to me. Did the dealer check for restrictions in the filters? I hope your pump isn't already going out.
John if it that much of a winning. Start with the Belts, Fan, Alternator or its a Baron gone Bad. Rubbing of metal parts won't make a Winey Noise. So it is something that is Turning very Fast.

That noise would drive me crazy! I can fully understand what you mean. I think its the hydraulic pump itself, isnt it?
Usually it's the simplest problem, what about a faulty bearing?
Trust your gut feeling. Time in the seat gives you the right to an opinion about what is correct in a machine.

Nice job guys.this new equipment seems to have more issues i have had issues with my new 289 cat hopefully it gets better.
How much should one expect to pay for a job such as this, clearing 1 acre for a homestead??
My husband found out it was our pump making that same noise as your asv135 they replaced ours with a heavy duty one the noise is gone now.
Hydraulic pipe unproperly holded. Need stronger rubber pads or changes in RPM and pump settings. Get dealer to look for vibrations with bespoke sensors on steel pipes. Nice video as always. Good luck guys!
John, having worked on and around equipment many times before, it seems to me that the whining you are hearing is coming from improper bearing tolerances in the pump. It really shows up under high rpms. It possibly could be a faulty bearing from the factory. I would stay with it while it is under warranty. The noise will only grow worse with age. Great job however on the video. There is always something eerily satisfying about watching your videos. Please keep them coming.

Letsdig18 had an issue everyone thought was hydraulic noise and ended up being a very small air leak in the air intake charging hose before the turbo.
I am a mechanic and work on some hyd. It sounds like there air trapped somewhere in the system. I know it sounds simple, but I would suggest cracking lines one at a time on very low pressure. and check for air, it may make a small mess. I would think it is somewhere between the pump and a valve.

Sounds like the pump is starving for oil either low level or flow restriction???
How many pine stumps and tops can one of those knock out in a day ?
Roughly one machine can do one acre a day, depending on the terrain and material.
Sounds like the flow pump is just creating a whisel cutting out on flow. Have you tried running a head you can turn up the pump closer to full open..? See if sounds go away with more flow
Love you content. Ever do a breakdown of what it cost to run these machines per hour. I imagine $50 a hour for gas , cutting blades, and maintenance will get me in the ballpark. Yes, you are within the ball park.

My bobcat would sound like that when the hydraulic fluild was cold and thick. Honestly, that sounds like a flow problem to me. Did the dealer check for restrictions in the filters? I hope your pump isn't already going out.
Sounds like the hydraulic pump to me! I had the same issue with a Bobcat several years back
What does this cost roughly (clearing 1 acre)? Thanks!
John if it that much of a winning. Start with the Belts, Fan, Alternator or its a Baron gone Bad. Rubbing of metal parts won't make a Winey Noise. So it is something that is Turning very Fast.
Nice job enjoying the channel 👍aloha 🌺🤙🌺
Thanks for visiting!
How long does it take to clear an acre this densely grown?
On average one machine can do one acre a day.
what happens if one of those tires were to get into the mulcher?
Great machines.
