How to Bypass Microsoft Account login Windows 11 NEW VERSION 2024

Previously this was a little easier to do, but as always the game of cat and mouse with Microsoft continues!
To bypass the need to use a Microsoft account to login to Windows 11.
This allows a local Adminstrator account to be used rather than an account tied to Microsoft and their business partners.
After the initial Windows 11 setup, press shift + F10 to bring up the Command Prompt.
Click on the Window to make it the active Window.
Now type in
oobe\BypassNRO and then press enter. This will reboot the system.
Next when setup resumes we need to press shift + F10 again to bring up the Command prompt.
Again click on the Window to make it the active Window.
Now type in
ipconfig /release and then press enter
This will disconnect your Internet connection.
This forces the option for I don't have an Internet connection and allow a local Administrator account to be created.
After Windows 11 desktop opens reboot the computer again to gain Internet access.
If the Internet still won't connect.
from the search bar look for CMD and open a command prompt and type
IPconfig /renew
and this should give the Computer a new IP address and Internet connectivity.
Also if you are using new hardware that Windows 11 doesn't have built in drivers for, You will need to download the drivers from the motherboard manufacturers website on another computer and transfer them on a USB stick.

The second you let Microsoft on your PC, it's no longer your PC. you might have bought it or built it, but you don't own it
If you don’t get to the exact same page where it’s asking to connect to internet, you can still follow the same steps from “login to Microsoft” page. And it works
Guys press shift, then fn and at last f10 if it doesn’t work. This works.

Added Note, after you do ipconfig /release and you get to the desktop you have to use ipconfig /renew to get internet back.

Istg for each new computer I set up for users, they add a new step or make it harder to bypass the sign in.
Just a few months ago it was enough to enter an email and spam the wrong password a few times
I tried the OOBE trick a few weeks back and it was coming up command not recognised. I ended up have to change the default command line directory to something else. I can't remember which one exactly. I eventually got it to work anyway. I hate the fact that they assume you have an Internet connection.

I just type random pass and mail and it will continue installation without microsoft account. I don't know if that still works :)

Man... I needed this like a week ago. Reinstalled and had the bright idea making one of those 17 character pw, Followed by needing to restart numerous times installing software... what a pain that was haha.
i cannot understate, thank you. i was struggling with this because i thought they patched it by making it impossible to type in the cmd, i didn't realize that it didn't automatically put the window in focus, i know its a minut detail in your video but it really helped me out +1 sub

A small note from my experience right now...
On a lenovo laptop the Shift+F10 command does nothing, however Fn+Shift+F10 does open cmd.

I bought a mini pc recently & obviously things have changed since you made the vid but, I noticed that instead of doing the ipconfig cmd, for wired connections just unplug the ethernet cable & doesnt even ask for no internet option.
Interesting! So maybe if the computer does not have a Wi-Fi card built-in, just ethernet, not having the Ethernet cable plugged in allows you to bypass the Internet requirement?
If that's the case, I wonder if device manager can be opened from the command prompt, and the Wi-Fi card disabled, and since a ethernet cable is not plugged in Windows set up might let us skip the internet requirement?
@@zzoinks nah man everyone of this is going to have wifi, the better question is does it have Ethernet port if so then use that skip wifi & try to get passed the Microsoft account sign in step
I am preparing my laptop for resale. Can I get it to connect to the internet and the buyers' Microsoft account after this?
I tried it and I don't get the "I have no internet" option. I just turned off the laptop and hope that the buyer has a Microsoft account.
I would have liked to updated it all and ready to be sold, but Microsoft has made this impossible. They and Apple are trying to outdo each other in awfulness.

But do u need to reverse the "ipconfig /release" step? Doesn't that affect your ip address/internet in any way??
It will reset or get an ip after the next reboot

Hi, Mike. Personally, I don't see the problem with installing Windows with a MS Account. I have my Windows key attached to it. That let me use the same Windows key with three different motherboards. After the install is done, then it's easy to switch to a local account.
Okay, so what if you want to re-sell your PC to a stranger? Or what about those of us that like to flip budget gaming PC's? This is why what Mike is doing is necessary.
@@CyberClu That's a good point, however I don't expect this bypass to work for very long. Windows is cracking down on such bypasses, as well as what applications you can download and install on Windows 11 24H2. Which is why I've switched to Linux Mint.

The command line isn’t capital sensitive. And use the TAB key to autofill the name/check the name of the directory and cmd file.
OOBE = Out Of Box Experience.
Correct. The Windows Command Prompt is case insensitive. Not so with Linux.
Managed to get it working I put my WiFi in and at the sign in prompt I just disconnected WiFi and it let me go ahead and finish setting up

Pls help me, I did the exact same thing with the oobe/Bypassnro, it worked and I had to set it all up again which I did, then when the setup was finally completed I had access to the desktop. The first thing I tried to do was connecting to Wifi, but it doesnt even show any devices or it doesnt have a Wifi option at all. What should I do???
check in the bios that the wifi is enabled, if it is get the driver from the motherboard manufacturers website on a USB stick and install it from there, it might be in device manager as an unknown device
If you ran the ipconfig /release command my guess is you'll need to do the same thing but use 'ipconfig /renew' once you're logged in and ready to connect.

Hold fn in the bottom left corner when you hit shift + 10
OK, just used this on a new laptop. You must hit Shift + Fn + F10 (not just Shift + F10) to get to the command prompt. After it reboots and gets back to the "Let's Connect You To A Network" page, it will NOT say "Connected" like it does in this video, but it will have the "I don't have internet" option at the bottom of the page. Hit that and you're good to go as per the rest of the video.

After putting in the name for the laptop it reboots to the sign in screen, not the internet screen. I tried the prompt at the sign in screen but it asks for username /email . I'm stuck. Any tips?

It worked. Thanks so much. The step that required a Windows account to setup the system is so dumb. It should have be optional. This is why corporations got sued.

I think they patched it recently, when disconnecting WiFi, it blocks and asks me to go back and connect to the internet again 😢

QUESTION: After I do this, I want to reverse this "bypass" action and re-turn on the "connect to internet" screen. How do I reverse this action?
The reason is because we do actually want to connect to the internet with our Windows account. We're only doing this "bypass" action because we want to verify if our new laptop has been already activated by someone unknowingly. We don't know if this "bypass" action is permanent or not.

if your laptop has already been activated you won't get the OOBE at startup

for you maybe not, but consider that there are a lot of people that are maybe not as used to computers as you may be. Try thinking about what other people need rather than just looking out for yourself
What pros won't tell you. If you cant use shift + F10, try Fn + shift + F10. Sometimes the keyboard on the laptop is set to function keys as default, so if you press just f10 you will be pressing a special function not the actual F10. Leave a like :)

Hi just wanted to say thank you. This did work for me but with a difference. I didn’t get the “I don’t have internet” page. I got the one after it, and I had to Fn F9 “airplane mode” then it worked for me. Luckily I was using a laptop. 🎉

As of 14 July Shift+F10 no longer works (with or without fn).

go back to the region settings page and try there, or tell windows it is a domain account
I have a laptop with Windows 11Pro and am trying all methods to get in. After trying this command, the response states no operation can be performed without internet 😢

yes i am aware of that, it is a problem that is hard to find the happy ground. I often suggest using the youtube settings cog and slow down the playback speed a little, that seems to help
Hi and thanks for this, but if the computer is not connected to the internet, ie no cable or WIFI connection will the ipconfig /release still work as there wont have been an IP to release. 1 new sub as well.

Doesn't work for me. That keystroke combination is disabled on new HP PCs... Can't bring up the command prompt.

Some laptops you need to use Fn-shift-F10 to get command prompt. Try that.

Shift F10 Fn isn’t working on my new Dell. Guess they shut down that feature.
some windows versions won't allow this now. to get around it say you are a school or workplace and choose a domain, it doesn't need a domian and lets you carry on freely
@@mikesunboxingI ended up installing with the MS account and then creating a local account and setting that up as my login account. Then I started deleting everything that says Microsoft on my machine including 365 which I did not request and onedrive. Also had to switch out of S mode to install any non Microsoft app which pisses me off to no end.

I think Windows changed this as of April 30. I am not able to get the command prompt as show in video.
Just turned off WIFI in bios and still won't bypass screen asking for network, and still not able to get command prompt up. This video is void now.
OK, found another video, on a laptop, you have to hit FUNCTION SHIFT F10.
