As a "stepfather" myself and I know John uses that term lightly as I do with my son Nick, I just love the bonding you guys are doing and can't wait to ride with you both! Safe travels!
Nice! Alittle advice, brother.. put a lanyard or something on your ignition key w a hook that's secured to the bike. I lost a key like that , never found the key. Ride safe with your Dad, he's a good guy😊
That windshield REALLY cleaned up nice!! It looked super yellow at first, to the point I may have skipped it....but it looked fantastic by the end!! Hope you guys have a blast! I would KILL to have been able to ride with my old man....or to have a son to pass all my knowledge onto!! Maybe some day my girls will ride....it would have me terrified right now, as I cant even handle them driving, let alone be on a bike!
I was also pretty impressed with how easily the spray wiped away all that grime and yellowing. It’s always great to have people to ride with, especially family, I know mine were certainly terrified to hear I was getting my license, but it helped that I started on a smaller 750cc bike 👍
@@karencusumano8836 LOLZ!! I can understand!!! My 4 daughters, I cannot be in a car with them driving. No WAY I would be able to handle them on motorcycles 😀. At least he has a VERY good teacher... I feel for my mom now, I am sure I took years off of her life, with me being on sportbikes when I was young and having more than a few wrecks and idiotic incidents....but at least I walked away with no serious injuries while she was with us.... Pray the same for you guys!
I would always leave it on the battery tender when not riding it, especially in the cold in the shed. Hindsight good thing it crapped out before the little bike trip.
Great video guys.i personally, use a motobatt,battery,they make a higher cranking battery for harleys,regards mike,UK, enjoy your trip,be safe,cam,john
I've been running a Full Spectrum Lithium battery in my 95in high compression hot rod Dyna for a few years now and love it. It is American Made and turns over my high comp motor like no other battery ever has and it weighs about as much as a pack of cigarettes. A lot of race teams use them.
Nice video Cam. That old battery has some corrosion on your terminals so when you return from your trip, go back and get them cleaned up. Be sure to tighten firmly but not too tight. Those threads though are in soft lead so easy on the torque. Tight but not overly tight. Have a blast young man! Stay safe. 🤜🏼🤜🏼
Have you considered trying ski gear for winter riding? I use snowboard pants with a heated liner and it’s remarkably warm and comfortable, and it’s not restrictive like leather.
My bike was a year and a half old and the battery wouldn't last two weeks off the charger. I asked Harley to check it. They told me to keep it on tender every night. I have and its been alot stronger since then . Even after a long trip the tender still takes a couple of minutes to go green.
YUASA battery’s are the only way to go. Reason most reputable manufacturers use them in bikes and why original batteries last so much longer that most off the shelf.
That cold snap killed it.

Thanks! It’s always nice to share an interest with family! Spring is right around the corner and I can’t wait to see you all out on the road!
Enjoy the adventure with your dad Cam! Cherish it, i wish i was able to do a trip with my pops before i lost him. Keep your old man in check! 😂
I’m so sorry to hear it, stay safe and make every day count!
@@Riders_Realm always do bro! You stay safe out there too!
Never, never hold the camera while riding. You’re doing a good job Cam. Keep it up. 👍
I’m definitely gonna need a helmet camera mount👍

Good idea, I just lost one of my spare keys and had it returned to me by someone who found it in the lot LOL
Gotta clean up those wires cam . Keep them neat and clean brotha.

Absolutely, I wasn’t even aware the battery was done for until we went to move it in the shed!
Have a safe and great trip. Make those memories.

Sounds like a good idea! Luckily the Kemi Moto heated pants fit well under my Beyond Riders pants, Id highly recommend them 👍
Good luck on your road trip I’m in Massachusetts and the weather is pretty horrible here to.
Thank you! Thankfully it got real nice and clear the further south we got! Video will be out soon

I should definitely start doing that, only problem is there’s no room for my bike in the garage LOL
Tell dad you need to have bike in the garage lol!!!!
LOL
My boy
Hell yeah 🤘
I see you having a bagger in the near future!!
One step at a time LOL
Enjoy the ride and the $10 in free gas money 🤣

@@Riders_Realm I’ve had them last over a decade. Should have a date of manufacture stamped on it.
It's always nice to have the third hand to help with. You've have the best guide for help your dad, Cin-Cin and Salute 🫡👌👍✌️🫡
Thank you! I always enjoy working on the bikes
