I really appreciate your videos! It's nice to watch someone who is knowledgeable about Proven Winners plants, but not sponsored by them. I want to learn about other varieties, too!
Corey has become my favorite garden video person! I learn so much from him! I love PW plants but I get tired of their colors! I like the fact he brings us information on other brands! Thanks Corey!
Corey how kind of you to give us a shout out. I've learned so much from your videos, especially about all the new varieties out there the least I can do is share some of my experiences. Independent nurseries have to stick together and do all we can to compete with the big box stores even if we do have better plants and have more knowledge. Great plant section you gathered up. I might give those Mantra geraniums a try as I'm loving the Calliope series so much this year.
I appreciate your honesty so much. It is rare to find in gardening sometimes. We are often made to believe PW are the only plants you can have success with. I have ordered from PW direct in the past. My plants arrived as you say in "rough shape." Some of mine didn't bounce back though. I felt like I had wasted my money. I now search out garden centers in my region and refer back to my "Corey Notes." Thank you!
You are my favorite gardener on TH-cam, follow ur petunia bud massacre instructions, my petunia is blooming so hard rn, please more video of how to care specific flowers 😊
I’m in Wausau Wisconsin. Started my wave petunia from seeds. Then I just bought a new color from a greenhouse here for $5 per plant. All doing great! I watched your video on cutting them back and just did that and now they are really thick with lots of shoots for blooms. I’m originally from the u.p. In Michigan. Didn’t realize you were so close. You have really helpful knowledge- thanks!
I’m new to your videos and I’m hooked….cant get enough! They are so informative, easy to follow and fun! Also, I live in northern Michigan, almost UP. I’m going to follow your petunia tips and plant all of my pots in 2 or 3 different colors and only 2 - 3 plants per pot. This part is going to be very difficult for me but I’m all in! Thank you Corey.
Good luck… be sure you choose good, vigorous varieties of petunias and things should go great. If you’re almost in the UP, you can’t be too far away from us… maybe you’re due for a roadtrip to the sunrise side 😀
Good evening from Kentucky! I've been growing geranium ,begonias, and shock wave petunias. It's my 1st time. Can you give me a scale of plants to pots?? I also have some tital wave purple petunias. Help! Betty Jo
It really depends on the varieties you’re growing. The Tidal Waves are more of a landscape petunia, so they will likely overtake other plants in containers… and you would only need 1 or 2 in a 12” or 14” container. Begonias and geraniums can vary… you could put 2-5 in a 12” container depending on the size. Those two usually play nice together if they are types that can handle the same light conditions. Hope that helps a little.
Yes I was the one growing both the rockapulco impatients and glimmer. I just saw the burgundy glimmer came into my local garden center. My rose glimmer are doing amazing. I hope you enjoy the burgundy one. I will have to try it too.
4inch pots for Proven Winners in my region vary depending on where you shop. We have one local place that charges $4.99, another that charges $5.50 if you buy 10, big box stores are $5.99 and a franchise flower tent is $8....Not that I go everywhere to compare quality, variety, and price. I only buy Proven Winners for the majority of my plants because I know they are reliable and I know what to expect.😂
So you only made it out to a few places so far 😀 I like that you understand that price isn’t the only factor to consider… starting with healthy plants can really add to the success. Thanks for price checking for us.
@UpNorthGardenMI yea, I hit up my one local nursery late in the season (end of June) and had gotten some pretty miserable looking plants for $1.00 each when they were trying to clear their greenhouse, but that was when I first decided I love Proven Winners and was hooked. They all bounced back and did fantastic! A huge factor for me is also variety. Some places carry a very limited selection. Usually I have a list of what I want before heading out and will go a long way to find them :)
There are a lot of factors that go in to pricing, and I don’t know what they have to consider, but that’s getting pretty high for me unless it’s a variety I really, really want and can’t get it elsewhere. Thanks for sharing that info.
@@UpNorthGardenMI it explains why PW requests my zip before I’m allowed to shop direct. They don’t want to undercut local dealers. Florida btw. Thx for video’s
Hey Corey... Can you do like a start to finish experiment comparing different fertilizers and no fertilizer vs 1 variety of supertunia? That would be very insightful.
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to do that. Because of my travel schedule, I’m not here every week to keep it consistent… I might be able to do it for 4-6 weeks.
@@UpNorthGardenMI First time ive seen them here too. Id to go all the way to Virgina in Co Cavan. Pergola nurseries. They have TH-cam and TikTok videos.
It depends on how large the plants are when you start. Our one quart petunias usually get beyond the edge of the pot in two weeks. These were a bit smaller, so they may take a little longer.

Thank you for your kind words. I agree PW has extraordinary plants, but they’re not the only fish in the sea. 😍
Wow 😮
I love the geranium pink and colors.
Beautiful flowers
❤❤❤

Calliope has been out go to, but those Mantras are looking great! Thanks again for your suggestions!
Thank you love a real test of plants.
Please keep your videos coming. Love them!

I am really enjoying your videos. What kind of potting soil do you use? You have given me the courage to do my own baskets this year. Thank you.

I am in an area that charges 11.99/plant for 4” PW. Even big box stores that carry PW charge that much. So-great pricing on your end imho.

Annuals from Proven Winners in Ireland are €6.95. So comparable price to $
Good to know. I haven’t seen them in Ireland. The greenhouses near our place in Tipp don’t carry them and I haven’t seen them at Woodies.

How long will it take the 14" pot of 2 petunias to fill out?
