Always good to hear from Dan Mullen. I love my Gators and I wish Billy Napier the best, but Dan was always my coach, sad that things couldn't work out in Gainesville. It was sad to see him go but he will always be a Gator Great!
Mullen put Florida in a bad place with his stay. It was more than just recruiting it was many burnt relationships with HS COACHES. He and UAA relationship was strained.
No coach would ever admit they don't like NIL. Last reputation would make recruiting harder. I doubt any of the really like it deep down in their hearts. But they will smile and say they love it.
"Pay for play" is putting more parity into the game which is good. Just last night Georgia Tech flipped a big recruit from Georgia. Prior to NIL that would never happen. It's good for the game if talent is more evenly distributed.
Here is your preview: Pretty good team. Not enough depth. A couple of surprise wins, but too many hard fought losses and a couple of "they got their ass kicked". But S.C. has good days ahead in the future!
@@brianreese7804 Dude - we are gonna surprise several SEC teams this year. I won't go into too much detail but Carolina is stacked on both lines, RB room, and we have a QB that is super talented. (He was under the radar out of high school because he was injured his Soph year). LaNorris Sellers will be on the map by the end of this season. 6-3, 240 lbs., 4-4 forty, and an accurate cannon for an arm....
@@cordercorder8785this years O-line has the few good elements of last years squad (they were young) and none of the same bad elements. It’s a completely different unit. That’s how CFB works these days
@@iambergeson although I agree swapping players in and out is college ball nowadays, I’d also say it doesn’t always work and having continuity on the Oline is one of the most important things to have. Plug and play ain’t as easy as you are making it out to be.
You forgot about… Anti-Making Any Championship Game!!! Except for what is already Scheduled… State Championship Game against the Gamecocks which they lose 😊✅
How is LSU thin at running back? They got Josh Williams and John Emory, two six year starters. Then they have Kaleb Jackson 6' 235" running back that runs in excess of 22 mph. And Caden Durham a true freshman with speed galore. Then probably late September early October, LSU gets Trey Holly back from home detention after he is inevitably found innocent.

That’s a great interview with Mullen
I prefer your deep dives into sec teams for content.. Especially this time of year!
Arkansas will be a team to watch this year. I haven't seen an I formation since the early 90s.
What about them makes you think people would want to watch a 4 win team?
Because it’s FOOTBALL damnit.
Spurs Up☝️
GO SCAR ‘EM UP!!!

If a team Dan coached somehow stumbled into the playoff, you can be sure that the one thing he wouldn't do that month is any type of recruiting.
For the algorithm! Roll Tide
Cole, love your show
The next chance you get, can you please ask Charlie Baker why he still lets boys beat girls in college sports?
Thanks
Bama!

What's the point of this perspective if it's essentially unprovable?
NIL and Pay for play are 2 totally different things! Every player deserves NIL… pay for play is what’s hurting CFB

Cole, did I miss your 2024 preview of South Carolina ? I can't seem to find one...

Right now...in practice. Fully aware of the roster.
