OU hasn't had a schedule this tough in a while. It's not the toughest we ever had. I doubt any team will ever again have to play #1, #2, and #2, in consecutive weeks, without a bye, ever again. But we won all those games, and we have a roster good enough to win all our games this year, even if that isn't the prediction. Just because a team hasn't been tested, doesn't mean they will fail the test. Iron doesn't sharpen iron; it literally dulls both pieces of iron.

They are tied with a7m at 63%. bama, uga, texass and LSU are all ranked higher. If you would have scrolled down further in the article you would have seen those numbers. I have been an OU fan since the 60s and worked as a photographer on the sidelines for years covering college football games. I have witnessed many schools and different teams throughout the years. I have seen my Sooners go through some very good and not so good seasons, and I am more realistic than most of these younger fans. I have complete confidence in Venables and the decisions that he is making in his coaching hires. What many failed or refused to understand was that when Lincoln Riley left and Brett Venables came in, the program was rebuilt from the ground up. Many fans expected unrealistic results the first season and were calling for a coaching change after the 10 & 3 season last year. These same fans will be noisy and expexting OU to dominate the South East Conference, just as I have seen many Texas fans believe that their Longhorns will do. I believe Oklahoma will do better than most SEC fans are expecting, but I also know that the SEC is going to be an eye opener for many Oklahoma fans, as well. Great show, and you have a new subscriber here.

  • @Tijuanabill

No, we OU fans CAN'T recognize a good year when we see one. We see nattys, and we see not-nattys. We are as single minded as they come. Only one team gets the prize. That's just how it works.

Fair assessment, realistically Oklahoma 8-4, or 10-2, all depends on injuries from OU and opponent, its how we lose that will determine this coaching staff. Fighting our ass s off or? Not because of coaching decisions. Special Teams, the kickers are main concern.

As an OU fan for 35 years… we thought 10-3 sucked ass… not due to BV, we love him. If you watched all of OUr games last year, Lebby killed us with his play calling when we had leads. The effing screen pass, lateral backwards slow progressing plays almost never gained a yard. It was almost like he was distracted at times or BV was holding him back… IDK… but we left meat on the bone last season. And OU fans demand and expect excellence on and off the field

He didn't agree with that comment. He said some analysts in Birmingham said that. I dont agree with it either, but it is very important in a lot of ways, and depending on the outcome of the game, could be a great source of inspiration to carry through the rest of this tough schedule.
If Oklahoma lost the previous game and then went on to not lose another game the rest of the season, hypothetically, yea, it could be considered that.
