DBAD good job on the history of the esee machete, I have the Lite machete which has been discontinued. Made in El Salvador, handle made in USA . There are a few around if you look hard.The thing is like a giant razor blade.
I allways smile when they ask if you can use this or that for self defense, cause in my mind everything an I mean everything is a weapon if you know how to use it !! Condor makes great knifes and this is no exception, stay save brother ❤️

@@DonnieBAllDay in one edit i did that is called bobo visits the mountainous dojo. bobo stays at my house. i take him to my survival shelter. one of them i had by my house. and i take him to the shining lodge from stephen king. to eat. where i was a mgr and animal planet paid for it. aka bigfoot research. i take him to lakes. waterfalls. with his dog monkey that was on the show. it is some fun stuff. bobo is wild. he was into my videos for years before i ever worked on a project with him.

Got mine yesterday and was excited to give it a test. From all I saw on the internet this machete looked perfect for the MTB trail maintenance work I wanted to do. So once in my hands….looks great! Yes the sheath is basic and the snap clip does not have to be undone to pull out the blade but I can live with that. So today I went to the trails I work on and thinned out some saplings, cut back some small branches and after maybe an hour of on and off mild labor the blade has several large chips and some smaller rolls. Damn that is a disappointment. I have two choices, one is return it and see if the next one has a better toughness, the other is to reprofile the chips out and sharpen. Anyone else had chipping issues? This does have the Esee guarantee?
this is supposed to replaced their lite machete which is vey thin and was razor sharp but the edge tended to chip and this has a more durable edge I see no edge damage or edge roll
I got a Gerber machete I bought years ago that really really sucks it turned me off the Gerber for a long time. I have been thinking about replacing it with a Khukuri I like that type a machete better do you know any good ones?
This thing would make you happy. So would the Cold Steel stuff. I you want to spend a little extra, The Khukuri House sells long kukris that tear through anything.
Have a great urge to buy all your khhi designs but then ended up buying a combat troodon with bowie blade today now gotta save up for the rambo knives lol
looks like a pretty solid blade but that pistol grip handle is tricky really needs to be thinned out towards the blade so that its not as wide as it is thick and make it not a rounded handle
I sub ...but I have the mission already, love it yet to do hard work with it. Instead of a scanty edge I put a 15 degree angle .I know that anything in front of the edge will be cut , I want to fill a glove afterward

ESEE's are a beast. Expensive, but nice. I go the cheaper Condor knives for my budget. I do love the ESEE though. That would make a good shelter maker
