    Enjoyed the video. I've known for awhile now that the best one-tool option out there is a good machete with a blade around 12 inches. I like that the cutting edge on this one goes further back than on most machetes. Good to see that a good kydex sheath option will be available for it. But it's no secret that this excellent machete is actually made by Condor Tool & Knife for you guys. Would have been nice to see credit given where it's due.

    Hey guys, when can we expect to see these at retailers? I checked Blade HQ, no luck there (but I e-mailed them about it this morning). I'm definitely putting this on my MUST HAVE list. Question: the Darien is a bit thicker than a standard machete, right? I don't imagine a regular bush whacker type machete would hold up to that kind of batoning. Is it just me or is there a slight recurve in the blade? If so, that's DEFINITELY an interesting profile.

      Just got my JG3 a few days ago, it's an outstanding knife and fits my hand perfectly. Love the finish on that blade too. I'm currently waiting on an aftermarket kydex sheath for edc - though with the current situation, my model 4 might be more appropriate. People are getting desperate out there already.

    When would you use a machete over a hatchet and vice versa

    • @bmphil3400
      @bmphil3400 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A machete is not just for chopping. Is is for grass and vegetation clearing, digging a cat hole. Digging a foot hold in the side of a bank, using as a draw knife to make shavings etc. In the jungle you need to cut through alot of vegetation quickly.....a machete does that better than an axe and is lighter to pack.

    • @RandallsAdventureESEE
      @RandallsAdventureESEE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Francisco Ibarra hard to answer. I use a Junglas to clear shooting lanes every year in preparation for hunting season. The Junglas is a heavily duty chopper/big knife. Personally If you have the Darien and are looking for a big knife I’d look at the Junglas 2.
