Just to clarify advanced vocations are not upgraded versions of the basic ones. At least in the original game they were variations. For example Fighter used Sword and Shield while warrior used 2h weapons. Mage had ofensive and supportive skills while sorcerer was pure ofensive. Strider was a fast archer with recurve bow while ranger used long range longbow.
Exactly, in the first game Strider was probably the best DPS, fighter a amazing tanker and mage the best support so its better to think the vocations as alternative playstyles
If you want to get technical, Sorcerer isn't purely offensive, as this vocation has some support moves like Lassitude and Voidspell or something along those lines. That was the only spell that could remove petrification and lowered stats.
Advanced vocations are the heavy hitters to basic vocations, but they lack defense, mobility or support
@@Slitheringpeanut Brain Splitter would like a word
When doing the math, if they keep the pattern of basic, advanced and hybrids in the same way as the first game. Given how that there are 4 basic vocations, we could/should be seeing 14 total vocations. 4 basic, 4 advanced and 6 hybrid! I do hope this is what they've done.
Dang I was really hoping we would be able to give our pawns hybrid vocations this time around
It's a masterwork, you can't go wrong.
Sorcerer for me. The magic is top-tier in Dragon's Dogma both visually and damage-wise. Even better when the arisen is running around with his own personal harem of 3 other sorceress casually blowing away monsters with tornado spam.
Yo as someone who has platniumed the first game im excited to see this game in action when it officially comes out
Im looking forward to Warrior however, I'm really hoping there is a sword and dagger class. Perhaps the new assassin class of being fighter and thief hybrid.
Hell yeah love the mystic spear and the magic archer
I know minimum we're getting 14 classes w/ hybrids, but tbh I really hope there are some secret classes that have unique tutors you need to find in secret locations. Make em purple color coded or something and maybe have 2-4 of them. Good way to encourage exploration and could be really fun way to play super unique classes. Maybe let pawns use them as well so even if they miss out on hybrid vocations they can still get more choices
@@leoleo1035 The classes in DD have their own playstyles though so there is actual meaning to which class you play. I just want a few extra classes because having really niche or unique classes that don't fit in to the established basic/advanced/hybrid selections could make for interesting vocations with neat moves. I value gameplay variability. Could also be a good way to bring Mystic Knight back since it had its position taken by Mystic Spearhand.
I wonder if casting time will still be linked like the first game. I loved playing with a 4 sorcerer party because you could multi-cast 4 bolide spells with only 1 sorcerer actually doing the entire chant.
Archer is for me. The slide and cool aiming stance are awesome
I have the feeling helm splitter will no longer negate fall damage... But that isn't gonna stop me from trying day 1
So, now that the Strider has been split, what are the secondary skills for the Thief and Archer then?
Mystic spearhand looks SICK. Brooo
I think they were going for performance optimization vs using the best graphics ever. Plus, I love that it keeps the same aesthetic as the original.
If stats still go up based on the job we were when we leveled, I will be using whatever gives me the most Strength.
Looks awesome hope it's more fleshed out than the first
i hope they balance some classes to use anti air moves but seems like not, warrior against daimon second form was jump and pummel the face lol.
They said there going to show more stuff on October 20 hoping new classes and release date ❤
Mystic Spearhand Looks Good
I wonder if assassin is going to be the thief advanced class or the fighter/thief hybrid class this time around. Either way that means we'll be getting a brand new class to fill the missimg slot!
I love being a gamer, so many new games to play!
Just hope the warrior class is more better this time round
And assassin was one of the best class
Probably gonna rock the sword'n shield in hope that it will have a cool parry ^^
Is it offline enable? Like without internet plugged or active at all to even play offline.
I don't like that they separated strider into thief and archer. I liked having daggers with the magick archer as well. That's my only gripe.
Maybe we get a thief magic hybrid class
Maybe magick archer will have a magick sword or dagger oops😂
@@charybdisx3802with how agile mystic spearhead looks to be I think that might actually be what it is
I hope this game is designed for an enjoyable endgame experience. It feels like you can just get overpowered in the original even in bitter black. I like feeling overpowered, but I hope there are enemies to keep me cautious or even randomized elements so you can’t rely on cheap tricks like weak AI or positioning exploits.
I never felt OP in the original except for exploiting consumable conquerors periapts and explosive arrows. Nothing was particularly broken if you just played normally. But i leveled up almost exclusively as a mage and sorc so my stats were probably pretty ass. The end boss of bitterblack literally took me like 8 hours to beat in a single fight the first encounter because i brought a 4 sorcerer/mage party and he was basically immune to magic damage and didnt give you enough time or space to consistently cast the big spells like bolide or maelstrom lol.
It felt like i was trying to beat dark souls at level 1 with a ladle.
lets hope they gave our warriors some love this time around
Give me the Alchemist from DDO! When that came out, it became my instant main.
im going to do every side quest before fighting the last boss lol
Im probably gonna pick fighter for some tank stats to be more comfortable early on and then go with the archer. Using bows looks super funn. My pawn will be a mage and I hope this time the mage has better stat growth. I hope AI is good enough that mages will heal annd attack. I don't wan't a pure heal bot like in Dragons Dogma 1.
I'm stuck between choosing archer or mage. Both look fun. But also I'm desperate to know what a potential thief/mage hybrid vocation looks like.
if you stuck between archer or mage
there is magic archer
@@chickenbob562 Not exactly the same feel I'm sure.
But also I've played DD for a decade. I've played enough MA. This mage looks more fun to play than before so I'd rather try that out.
I'm starting as mage to become a sorcerer as soon as possible. I need to Bolide monsters into oblivion in that awesome looking game.
same im going mage into sorc... and my pawn is probably going to be mage into priest (mage will have 2 advanced classes this time sorc and priest... priest being the support/healing option)
@@arcanumelite4853 did you read/see that somewhere or is that speculation? I'd like to think so too, but they haven't revealed anything new yet, as far as I know.
@@abeldiaz3877 you can literally see the priest in one of the trailers... its using some sorta incense holder... but priest itself was a class from dragons dogma online... so yeah priest is most likely in the game...
in DDO priest was the mage class as mage didn't exist.. so it was priest and sorc instead of mage and sorc..
but since mage exists this time... that means priest has to be a second advanced class of mage...
@@arcanumelite4853 It could be a vocation or simply a different weapon or even an item. I really want there to be a priest, though, but I'm not holding my breath just in case. I didn't know about Online's priest, so that makes sense.
The biggest question... how many save slots are we going to have?
Well I love mystic knights I don't think it's going to be in the game mostly because it's looking like the mystic spearman is most likely taking its place if the second game is anything like the first there will only be one hybrid class for each pairing and unless mystic spearman is thief and mage it's probably the class for fighter and mage, Plus it seems like they're trying to limit each class to one weapon not counting the fighter's shield so they can make each class more unique to each other. If my guess is correct they'll be less skills shared among the different classes but not that no skills are shared and if MK is in the game they're going to have to make sure that MK fighter and MS All play differently to each other because in the original game MK kind of made fighter redundant because fighter was the tank class but MK is also the tank class and it has better range with its magic abilities, but if MK is a class I will not be disappointed
Im torn between archer and mage but probably archer. Magic archer looks cool and a nice combination of the two. Im a new player so Ive got no previous experience with the franchise.
magic archer in the 1st tittle could use daggers so had options, mage on the other hand has offensive spells but not that strong, you want sorceror for that, basically mage is a support (has healing magic) with some offensive, sorceror is little support (no healing magic) full on damage.
@@panoctic question: do i have to level up the mage to get the sorceror? How do advanced vocations work?
@@davidsimmons4731 not really once they become available you buy them with same points you use to buy skills, the cool thing about dragons dogma some skills are share if you already have worked some stuff you will get those. also augments are share within all classes. so GRIT reduces the penalty for running out of stamina was something you unlock as strider but all vocations can use it once unlock.
@@davidsimmons4731In the first game all you had to do was level till 10 in any class and have enough discipline points to unlock sorcerer. Not sure about DD2 tho.
@@sealof3vil ok. Perhaps it'll be similar in this game. Thank you
Everyone is falling for the mystic spearhand but Im not very interested to be honest. I'll like to see sorcerer and warrior plus the other hybrid vocations. Magic is in my opinion done much better than any other game. I'm excited to see the new and upgraded spells from sorcerer and warrior this time will probably get more love than the first one. I'll like to master those two first and then I'll think about other vocations.
the release DATE is point no. ?
I loved the original Dragons Dogma
hehe, choosed
Wait, did the thief just do a Screw Attack?
I believe you're talking about the move Helm Splitter. It's the spinning dagger attack from the first game and one of the most damaging skills in the entire game
Never understood why games aren’t multiplayer loses such a big part for me tbh, like I would of wanted this game if it was playable with others ashame.
Because not everything needs to have multiplayer!
The Strider being split up is a overall downgrade to the class, have the mix of daggers & bow is what made the class special and so fun to play. And if mystic archer is missing the daggers, im less interested to play it as well.
how did that make it special, every vocation that had a bow had daggers as well. they want more unique vocations and if they get rid of the dagger and bow trio to make room for them so be it
@applepi4035 The Strider had options. And when you chose to specialize then it you became more focused in on what you wanted, but you never lost the up close option if you were a ranger. If enemies got too close you could defend yourself also the magic archer having just the bow means that you lose out on certain skills that required a dagger to use.
Still really disappointed they didn't spring for true co-op, not a deal breaker, but disappointing that they absolutely refuse to give us actual co-op in DD.
This is a good thing!
Only thing I need to know is when is it out and when can I give them my money? Lol
I feel very demoralized arekz, capcom drip feeding us days by days feels like torture
Hopefully Stat growth isn't tied to vocations like in the original. Having to max level a mage all game so I could get enough magic attack to play a magic archer is annoying.
Hopefully it is and it looks like it is. It separates itself from of stat leveling systems!
if you wanna min max then thats what you do. its playable just doing what you want you realise..
Where Avowed and Starfield disappoint, may Dragons Dogma 2 not follow the same fashion
"It could look better (Graphically)" WHAT DO YOU MEAN? Why do people keep saying "it doesn't look that good" when it legit looks amazing????
Although I am looking forward to this game I am a little disappointed. I feel like this is Dragons Dogma 1.5. There is very little that is new,the story seems to be pretty close to the first one (I could be wrong obviously). The combat looks identical,so do the enemies. I guess it just feels like a Dragons Dogma remake rather than a sequel. Still excited but I think it could have been so much more
FIRST
Don’t think graphics are a downside here, they look perfectly in line with the Capcom art style and it seems to be very well optimized so no clue why you mentioned that
I hope the game is harder. The last game needed more human size difficult enemies. Example: bandits and mercenaries groups with tanks, rouges and mages.
I agree. I really loved fighting them early game and having to plan and sometimes run away. Then by the time you’re level 50 they’re barely a threat. By 200 they aren’t even worth killing cause they die too easily. Hopefully there are areas scaled to stay difficult.
