    I like how you don’t have any long introductions and you just go straight to the point knowing the viewer has already read the title. Other TH-camrs should do this because I personally prefer this way of introduction.

    Wooh PLL speed video! I really love seeing the old spreadsheet, I'm rather data focused in things so being able to see where you were at, at that 15 second average, with an idea of the relative speed between algs, is super awesome to me. (I'm the guy with dysgraphia from the Summer Open during the q&a btw, so this really interests me) The video, as well as having something nice to compare, inspired me to make a spreadsheet of my alg times today. There's a lot of interesting results about a bunch of things, and I'm happy to say that I have 8 algs that are sub 1 (with a hilariously close 1.002 z perm best), and with Nb being the only alg over 1.5 seconds.
    Anyway to cut it short, I'm quite satisfied with my results and looking at a lot of variables I think I'm doing well. A reassured confidence is a really great thing to have, and videos like these are greatly appreciated. ^w^
    Ps- isn't Y supposed to be kinda good? xD The only algs slower than Y for me are n perms, and F basically tied but barely slower lol

    • @JPerm
      @JPerm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's awesome to hear! I remember you, and I'm glad you're more confident now. Those times are pretty solid, similar to mine from the spreadsheet.
      Y is great on big cubes because the finger tricks are simple, but on 3x3 I think anyone who says Y is very good is most likely either wrong, or needs to practice their other algs more. Move count and finger tricks wise, it's very similar to F perm.

    Wise words! I've been studying F2L for almost 3 years. My pb is 27secs and my average is still only around 40secs. I know intuetive f2l really well and should be way faster with the knowledge I have, but just cant seem to get it. I just have to remember that the journey is the actually THE BEST PART, because you're not only learning the skill, you're also learning to overcome (what at the time seems like) an impossible challenge. Once you've achieved your goal, THAT'S IT! You have to find the the next challenge. :0

      I know this post is 2 years old, but I modded my wrm and it was better. I will say it is a risky operation that requires a magnet swap. If you’re able to live with either surgically removing some plastic that holds the magnets or remove the glue that houses the magnet. The process is simple just swap the corner magnets with stronger ones. Swapped it out with n45 2x4mm and it’s better then before.

    I think the reason tps only comes with practice is that the way to get faster is to.. Well.. Do it faster right? But when executing an alg you have to do one move before another and the time gap between each move makes it longer. With practice and muscle memory your body will cut that time down or so I guess. So I'm gonna try practicing individual parts of an algorithm doing one move RIGHT after another and trying it together to see if that has some affect.

    • @JPerm
      @JPerm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are turning metrics. If you're ever wondering about stuff in the future check out my 10+ Cubing terms series!
      TM is turn metric, which is a way the number of turns are is counted. S (slice) means M moves are 1, while H (half) means R2 and R are both 1, but M is 2 moves since it's 2 outer moves. Q (quarter) is where R is 1 and R2 is 2. TPS means turns per second.
