Two things Konami seems to despise. FTK's and Draws. The entire reason this card got banned was because people used it with other decks that want to make you fall asleep for the rest of the game. e.g Final Countdown and Exodia. Win game one, draw games two and three. It's suprising people haven't abused this card ages ago considering how old it is.

They are totally fair now that judgment is gone and the random hit on fate, it's just like those people who are salty on dragon rulers even though the baby dragons were banned. Imo madolche is more of a boring deck as you do the invoker/tiaramisu combo for game. (tiaramisu be op as hell since she don't target)

On a more logical note, Spellbooks are a dumb deck idea because the playstyle is sheer monotony, the concept of the archetype has no consistent themes (Darkworlds discard, Lightsworns mill, Spellbooks...uh), the plays are linear (not that most archetypes aren't), and EVERY TURN TAKES SO MUCH TIME. In five minutes, I could come up with an equally balanced archetype with a far more creative premise than Spellbooks. Hell, I'll give Final Countdown some credit here; the turns take five seconds, and there's even some suspense as to if the player can shrug off your attacks. And for those simple reasons I'll play FC over Spellbooks anyday...and not have the grey hairs to show it.

Don't hate me for saying this but I would love to see someone in the Yu Gi Oh anime to use Self Destruct as a way to beat someone who doesn't deserve to be played fairly.
Actually I remember the DS game Nightmare Troubadour, which is kinda based off the anime, uses the Self Destruct Button pretty cleverly. Late in the game you have to duel a Marik-Possesed Joey. If you win, his mind will be permanently damaged and it'll be game over. If you lose, its game over cause its a Shadow Game. So you have to use Self Destruct Button & Ring of Destruction I believe to force a draw, freeing Joey of Marik's mind control without damaging his mind permanently.

My Tie-Die Deck was the last deck i made before i quit. it was hilarious! i could win on turn 2. go first, Set Wall and button. their turn, play wall for 7000, then button for game. and i boarded Bad Sumochi.
im so sad that self destruct button is gone. I would always play this deck over the last year or so except just troll them and try and tie as much as possible
All the times I did this I actually succeeded, it's so funny to see tryhard players rage over it and players that just want fun laughing together with you that sometimes I wish it wouldn't be banned (Just sometimes, I recognize it's pretty unfair)

I run a six samurai deck, so the single day of peace card scare the fuck out of people who know the power of a decent samurai deck. (it's not exactly top tier but it's strong as hell)
Ring of Defense? That only negates direct trap damage. It doesn't stop an effect that says "This and/or that player's LP become X" since it isn't considered damage. It just changes a person(s)' LP to a certain amount (0 in this case). It's the same with Number C6's final effect that changes your opponent's LP to 100. Your opponent can't take damage that same turn, but the effect still works.

the reason this was banned because you are technically taking damage so a few cards that heal upon you losing it all means you have lp left right? is that why?

+TGG18S In the todays meta nobody plays trap negation (Wiretap, Seven Tool, Dark Bribe). Endphase MST is a bigger threat, and of course cards that can negate everything (Infinity, the Yosenju negation card and so on.
why not at one? no good card to search for it, and if you get it a 40 card deck at one and have the conditions to use it you deserve to win not just tie.

The trick with winning a self-destruct button deck is to use the effect of Infernity Zero so you don't lose when you hit zero life points.

That may have worked with the anime version, but the real one only stops you taking damage. Self-Destruct Button doesn't deal damage to work.
