I dont know why people are saying she is robbed. Naturally, she has more lines early on because the talented trainees are spread out in different teams. But as the weaker trainees get eliminated, the more talented trainees get teamed up more and more, and naturally, some of them will have shorter lines because they got teamed up with better trainees than they are being teamed with in earlier rounds. This is what happened to Yona. She literally went from teaming up with some of the worst performing trainees in the revenge battle to the best trainees in the show on her last performance, of course her lines will be longer on her first performance...
I mean, I watched all of her performance and she doesn't stand out in any of them. She did the high note in Nan and it wasn't impactful at all because she don't put power on her belting lines, making them sound plain. She also usually looks like she has blank emotions when performing. She is underperforming in all of her performances after tell me, the only reason she stood out on tell me is because the team has no top contender in it, their best performer on that perf is not even Yona, Mila outperformed her with less lines imo. And everything she did in that perf is overshadowed by the fact that the rap part was a mess. In Nan, she got the high note but she is only the third or fourth best performer in that performance. Let me remind you, this is the LOW team, and she didnt stand out even as the main vocalist of the perf. Her fans are overpraising her for being mediocre, she got less lines because she aint performing great, she is passable but there are so many trainees better than her in the show. As for her lines in the last few songs, she is given less lines because she is simply not as good as the other trainees, and she didn't do enough to earn herself more. Even Kotoko, considering she aint as strong of a vocalist, she practiced the part she wanted again and again just so that she could get it. Yona honestly just wasn't doing enough.
Now that i think about it, i think your right. Even though she is the main vocal in nan enhyung who have less lines that her shine and after the nan performance she just fade into the background but what hurts me is who they eliminated her, it sucks because they did all of that for a petty drama

SIEUN is in the same boat blank face never stands out and still got more lines than yona.....LOL i get it but that doesnt change the fact production did not like her a spade is a spade....They dedicated a whole episode to justify eliminating her. genuine question with your logic here: werent the contestants voted for by the public/audience? If so, then the contestants near the end of the show may not all have necessarily been the “best”, rather just fan favourites who survived in the show through popularity alone. it’s already a well known fact that many contestants in universe ticket were voted for just because of their nationality. This, along with other factors such as appearance and personality may have influenced the voting to representative of more than just talent, and rather just who the audience likes more based off of subjective criteria (additionally, there are rumours that a contestant was rigged into the final lineup…) Furthermore, people are compelled more by narratives which demonstrate growth. This can be seen in survival show contestants too, as the trainees who show the most growth tend to be most liked by audiences. So contestants like Yona who started off with strong capabilities would have faded into the background because audiences were focusing on contestants who has shown more ‘improvement’ (think, what seems more impressive initially ? growing 5 levels but staring at lv20, or growing 10 levels but starting at lv5?) thanks for reading my mini essay 💀 edit for spelling
