Many happy memories…….looking back it was the best years of my life by far. I was there between 1975 and 1978. I knew the girls in the photograph and also some of the guys in the photos at the end! So many crazy funny times…..
I'm shocked to find out they knocked down my old school last year. That's my two primary schools and secondary school in Glasgow and high school in cumbernauld that doesn't exist anymore. Time stands still for no one.
Fantastic video. Great to see the stairs and the door signs. Is there any footage of the science and art block or the home economics block? The pool too would be great to see. Our music department was non existent. Canteen in would’ve been good to see.
The science block was mostly locked up, probably too many small trinkets for folk to lift ;-) , HomEc was changed compeletly too. The pool was apparently filled in some years back to become a performing arts studio, the dinner halls had changed beyond all recognition. Certainly from my time there.
Amazingly recognisable. If you visited that staff room and they opened the door, you were greeted by so much tobacco smoke, you'd have thought there was a fire. H. Robb, check-patterned jacket and his box of pencils labelled "peacils": Beware of being "deliberately obtuse" and his "The day's deliberate mistake". A. Gold, teacher of English par-excellence, who broadened our horizons on subjects like choice of cheeses and colours of jumpers. Scary, belt-happy Techie Teachers like A.Stevenson, who gave my friend six of it for grinning at the Sperm Oil in the storeroom and held a (serious) kangaroo-court inquest over who had farted. G. (King Kong) Mc.Nichol - lifelong bachelor and a genuine renaissance man, who taught my dad the word "Tapas" over coffee when they were both retired.

I wish I had known that there was an open night. My time was 1975 - 1981, but recognised at least four in that group photo.
