I haven't set foot inside AHS since the day I left in September 1988 and I have to say this had me in tears ! Such a fitting tribute and I've realised I made friends for life at this school and we are now in regular contact ! Amazing but upsetting at the same time !! Thank you for sharing and showing us around again one last time !! RIP AHS CX
I worked for Kingdom security in this building on the night shift and it was terrifying walking around at night lol. Also had two guys in a van try and break in but I successfully got rid of them 👊 used to kick a ball about in the hall to the left of the main entrance as I was that bored some nights.
Got me all choked up! Thank you Mr Sheridan for putting this together. I hope everyone has settled into greener pastures and I hope you are all doing well. (Couldn't have made the music less of a hard-hitting tear-jerker, eh? Haven't cried like that since leaving the place!)
I think my opinion echoes that of the others here who attended this school - while we moaned about it at the time, some of the best, relatively care free memories of our lives were had while attending this school and if someone had told you that all your worries like exams, nabs, detention and name calling were nothing in the grand scheme of things - you'd have looked at them as if they were mad, yet here we are many years later. This was a fantastic wee community based school where everyone knew each other very well - a charm that i've never seen any other schools have. It is such a loss to Abronhill and will be felt for many years to come.
First my primary school and now my high school... I am truly gutted that this school is no more! So many brilliant memories and great friends made there. A definite loss to the community!
After all this time what do we have ? a vacant space with nothing going on . and pupils transferred to the only school in cumbernauld that has main roads on two sides and a railway line on the other , so much for the petition that went straight in the bin , the petition signed by the people who pay the councils bloody wages we will remember all you labour councillors

Half my lungs are on that red blaes pitch. The other half are down the Glen, from doing cross country. I'd give anything to go back for a swim in the pool, and do some cookery with Mrs Kerr
I'm not going to lie I did cry I miss AHS I wish we could just go back the memories when me and my friends would blast music in the maths corridor and get into trouble by miss hart haha

Where did you go after that? We went to school together and lived on the same street for a while I’m sure, Maple Road.
