      My Daddy worked for a local catering company when their band came to town. He had the awesome opportunity to meet Huey Lewis. My Dad said that guy was one of the nicest people he'd ever met. Idk. Back in the 80's, music was not complicated, didn't sugar-coat a thing and just plain simply straight up. I'll stop at that.

    Chris is a great, solid musician. At a time when many of his colleagues were sporting spandex, make-up and volumes of Final Net, Chris was rocking with his good friends - an excellent band with no weird break-ups or drama. I seriously doubt that any of the authors of goofy negative "opinions" posted below have measured up to this type and quantity of success, while remaining a genuinely cool human being, like Chris.

      Ya' think? Epic is more like it. He grew up taking lessons in classical guitar and hating rock. Then a friend of a friend brought them together and Chris found out how many more chicks rock guitarists snag than classical guitarists. Chicks lured him to the dark side.

  • @matta.5363
    @matta.5363 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Chris comes from a very musically gifted family. His older sister is Bonnie Hayes, the composer and recording star, and his brother, Kevin, was the drummer for the Robert Cray Band. I worked with Chris' other brother, Sean, and their other sister, Roseanne, in a real estate development office my brother owned in Carmichael, CA back in 1989. The only funny story I remember that Sean told was about how Chris was cleaning behind his bed one day and found a $65,000 check for a concert, and said "Oh, so that's where that went!" Sean and Roseanne were cool to work with and you could definitely see the family resemblance to Chris.

    I was 25 in 80. It was a time of change. The 70s spelled the death of classic rock. U2, Robert palmer, Rush, Journey, The news, Foreigner, Van Halen, Van Hagar, and so many more defined that decade. Louder, bigger and more theatrical with a generally happier tone. Reagan was president, the wars were behind us finally, we thought, hippies were becoming businessesmen. Boomer were buying their first home.

    Wow, all these songs bring back so much memories, back in the 80’s I was madly in love with Chris Hayes & damn how he plays that bass & how hot he is.

    The Intro feels so AC-DC styles. Chris Hayes is the man and of course Huey Lewis and the News is freaking awesome.

    Amazingly versatile solo. I never realised how much Chris Hayes influenced the sound of the band.

    When I was a young man in my late teens and Huey Lewis first hit the scene I thought he looked like an old man. Today when I see videos of him from back then it now makes ME look like the old man! LMAO
