"We need more than Charlestown." "Then we shall have it." the men that created this country are vastly underrated and all of us as Americans owe more to them
He actually said “the regulars are coming the regulars are coming!” Due to loyalists being around and so they wouldn’t know who they were talking about.
Griffin Cardwell actually, everyone knew what he meant. Being British colonists themselves, yelling “the British are coming!” would make little sense (like if American soldiers came through midtown Manhattan and yelled, “the Americans are coming!’)
If this happened today people would just say “that’s conspiracy theory you nut” and it would be too late most of the time. People had brawn and bravery back then and most of all an ear to listen and reason. People today have no idea what is going on.
Very impressive! I used this as a source for my report. It helps to see it rather than reading it over and over. Great job! I didn't mind the language, either. people make such a big deal out of things. Great video though!
Wake up and be a Free Man or Liberty Dies Tonight......my favorite line that we are reliving today and i guess if you think of it have been since then....
Very well done video. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't show how Revere got out of Boston to begin with. Rowing silently across the harbor, right under the nose of a British warship is a pretty exciting part of the story.
I might add Paul Revers ride by David Hatchet Fischer is an excellent account of the events that transpired on both days, The 18th and 19th of April. The RWVA is dedicated to keeping the memory of these events alive through the Project Appleseed.
Read the Revere Depositions if you want to learn the details of what happened, as testified after the fact, by those who were there, including Revere, himself. There were many men out that night, warning the public, including Simon Winship. The so-called warning shot was actually several shots from men discharging their weapons before entering a bar, as was the custom. Revere used the sound to his advantage. He was no coward.
Well Mr. athome4now... keep showing accommodating versions of history to your kids. You sure will educate the sheep needed for the future, instead of men with an understanding of how this world is and how these brave men die for freedom!
Congratulations America. You people have a great and storied, almost mythical history that you should all be proud of. Happy Independence day (In advance)!
I liked it it felt like I was there I am learning about it this year in school and I was told to look up this... Best spent 10 minets ever! Or 20 I watched it 2 times:)
A tidbit of info about Revere- His father and him were silversmiths, and very well known ones at that- hence the British soldier recognizeing his name. And if anyone has one of his or his fathers silver spoons. KEEP that darn thing! I saw one on TV go at a pawn shop for 10K +.!!! Good golly!
The part at 5:57 was when Paul Revere was still on his horse and they stopped Revere. Revere did tell the regulars his name but then he ran off on his horse. But i'm not sure if they did take him off his horse and they tried to murder him.....
Paul Revere John Wayne sings about him he let the frontier I remember that this is coming to me I was on the wrong movie I have so many movies in my head right now
Neither made it to Concord but the alarm had been sounded. The American Revolution had begun. I didn't know that Revere went to Lexington and witnessed or was part of the battle. I am going to research the names of the American Hero's that died that day for the freedoms I enjoy today!
actually, dawes and revere made it to lexington and delivered the message, they continued onto concord where the colonial militia's weapons were stored, also sam prescott joined them after making it to lexington. all three were stopped by a british roadblock. prescott and dawes made an escape, but dawes fell off his horse and did not make it to concord, revere was marched back to lexington at gunpoint

@SquireDonCristobal I would actually be quite interested in checking that out. I've finished my assignment on Revere now anyway so I don't have to convince myself he was an American hero. I mean, the guy did some stuff for sure, but not enough to get the credit he got. History is difficult like that though, so many people are overlooked and forgotten and yet there are so many Paul Revere's out there it's rather unfortunate.
long live the United States of America in whatever form or fashion that protects the original ideas of individual freedom including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!!!
PAUL REVERE WAS A REAL DAMN AMERICAN. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, PAUL!
Kam Fact, not until they formed American cultures in 1776.

Thicci Kween no. Scott has it right, you have it wrong.

Sad but true.

Pretty good but you left out Dr Samuel Prescott who continued sounding the alarm after Dawes and Revere were stopped.
My class was watching this in 4th grade and when that British soiled said "get off your damn horse" she quickly got out of the video
The Sick Potato you mean British solider

Well, war IS grown-up stuff.
What’s the point of even doing that we all grow up eventually to know that the world is not filled with happiness and rainbows.

True, neither Paul Revere nor William Dawes made it to Concord that night, but Samuel Prescott did!

How? By escaping capture and returning to his family to sit out the war?
LOVED IT!
He actually said the regulars are coming not the British or redcoats.
Brilliant.

Technically, they got to Concord but was outnumbered by the Americans. So they retreated back to Boston, leading into the Bunker Hill War.
