Hi Thomas! Awesome new pipe, may it break in beautifully and smoke wonderfully, bringing you many decades of pleasure! I’ve been following your channel for almost a year now, and I really enjoy your content!
The reason 9mm Savinelli pipes don’t come with the adapters is because Savinelli doesn’t include them. Since the balsa wood shortage of the pandemic, they’ve been promoting their own 9mm and 6mm charcoal filters, and ditched the sample balsa wood filters in the ziploc bag. There might be one in the pipe, but the ziplock bag now has a charcoal filter.
I know that they include those 6 to 3 mm adaptors with their 6 mm pipes, in addition to the 6mm charcoal filters. If you go to Savinelli’s website, they don’t have any 9mm to 6mm adaptors, but rather 9mm to 6mm adapters.
I guess if you wanted to go from 9mm to 3 mm, you could use both types of adapters, but that just sounds ludicrous.
There are aftermarket alternatives for adapters that go from 9mm to 3, but I’ve heard that those can be a hit or miss kind of thing.
My advice would be to stick to the balsa wood filters, and use the charcoal ones when you absolutely have to (there are blends out there that benefit from that). Most of the times, though, I use the 9mm pipes without a filter, as it’s almost like having a mini-reverse calabash pipe.

I found your channel less than an hour ago when I watched your review of Mac Baren Scottish Blend, then I watched the Zippo video and after that your first cigar tasting. I really enjoyed the videos and hoped dearly that the channel would still be active, and when I subscribed and looked onto your channel and saw a upload 3 minutes old, I knew I had hit the jackpot! Beautiful pipe. Apparently Savinelli no longer ships all pipes with the adapter. My wife got me a Savinelli 503 Tortuga Rustic, as a Christmas present. I noticed that the adapter was taped to the bubble wrap, surrounding my pipe box. I also noticed that inside the box, there was no small ziplock bag (one with the Italian flag) with an extra filter, adapter, and filter instructions, which came with my previous two Savinellis. I called the vendor from whom she ordered my pipe, to inquire about the missing ziplock bag. I was told that Savinelli no longer ships all pipes with the small bag which contains an extra filter and adapter. I was told it was hit or miss. The pipe was purchased from Cup O’ Joes.

Hi Thomas. Your pipe is just awesome. The only concern that won’t let me sleep at nights is whether or not the tobacco in the pipe burns properly. It seems the upper side of the pipe is evenly sized, rather than a bit narrowed as it’t in Savinelli 673 for instance. /thinking aloud/

Hi Thomas. Good to see you again. In my opinion, the audio level is perfect. Nice job on getting that resolved. I also have found myself using matches. I mostly use them for the first two lights and then switch to a lighter for relights. That's a beautiful Savinelli; a very classic look. I hope you have many years of pleasant smokes with it.
