Thats not actually the reason, Stephen king was still teaching college classes at the time and he was commuting and there was a gas station/convenient store that king was writing at in the mean time, across from the station there was a real pet semetary and it was spelled that way, whoever made just couldn't spell. Opposite. My cats and I are aweome. Feed them..that's it for the most part, I work nights and sleep days, I come home when they're ready to come in. We eat and lay around the house. Then they wake me up and tell me they're ready to go outside..which is about an hour for me to get ready for work. They have other cat friends waiting for them outside. Weekends, we spend time together and play. Chill. Sometimes they go out more. Like on Friday, they leave, I womt see them till Sunday morning. This is the 3rd place we've moved to. There are dogs running the neighborhood. I've seen them chase other cats. My cats , over seen them sleep on top of those same dogs house, while the dog was laying there beside the house. I think my cats look in the mirror and sees tigers and lions as their reflections. Fits my personality. I'm short and stocky.,and I see a God as my reflection lol.
That series has stuck with me. Like all King books, it takes forever building but when it got to the conflict...HOLY SHIT!!! Those vampires did not mess around.
You should try checking out Chris Stuckman. I've been watching him and Jeramy both for about 3 years. They're both really good and sometimes have different opinions on a film that will make you think about yourself and come up with your own review. They're honestly just both the best.

shawshank isn't the only exception lol the green mile was also great. there were also stand by me and misery. i also enjoyed the stand, the langoliers, and the mist. also, im sick too so i feel your pain :')
The Shining is so different, it is really more a Kubrick movie than Stephen King. And for all of those, you have tommyknockers and langoliers and all the other CBS mini series. Though I think the older moves are MUCH better than the miniseries, I have a soft spot for Silver Bullet. But this and IT (2017) are master class when it comes to King.
This is why I love second opinions. Chris Stuckmann says too much exposition, the horror takes too long to kick in ; Jeremy Jahns says we could've used more lore and background story, the movie could've taken more time for the horror to kick in. Fascinating.

I missed having Jud's accent in this remake, that's my only complaint. And I wish he had more background and showed him and Louis more. The accent is so iconic in the book and 1989 film, I missed hearing it in the new film.

That beanie is my most favorite thing I have ever gotten from lootcrate. Ever after i canceled my subscription and got rid of most of the items i couldn't use(figurines, collectables, etc) I kept that hoodie and most of the shirts. Love it.

My favorite adaptation is Stand By Me based of his story ‘The Body’. King’s non-horror work can be just as gripping and tense as his horror work.
