In 1996, I had just joined the Army and got stationed at Fort Hood, TX….i was feeling down and a little home sick and called home and spoke with my younger brother. He was telling me that he’d gotten a PS1 and he and another of our friends were playing this game called Resident Evil, after hanging up, I walked into the barracks Dayton and some of the guys were playing RE, it blew me away….later (after my tax refund) I bought a PS1 and RE2, which had just came out. I think that RE1 and 2 really helped pave the way for the “Zombie apocalypse” boom
Something similar with me. My older brother introduced me to it and the demo for metal gear solid. Those games always take me back to my younger years. Leaves a smile on my face of past memories with my brother and dad.
@@warriorwebb8746 I played the demo for MG Solid while I was in Bosnia…my older brother the full game to me for my birthday….when I played MGS4 and you went back to Shadow Moses Island and they played the Gaelic version of “The best is yet to come” I had to pause and wipe away tears….so many great times came rushing back, plus the haunting melody of her voice….
Won't be long enough to even consider it a film! When they got a budget and more money for funding. The guy behind should've made it a RE 1 movie. Not just some Note! 😂😂 I could write a better script within a weekend! Basically take whatever rather game lines say. To film. 😂😂

Nice one Drinker. Way to pull on my nostalgia strings. I too got into Resident Evil way back in 96. Been a HUGE fan ever since. It's arguably my favorite gaming franchise of all time. Great panel of people you collected for this. Fantastic!
With Covid changing habits, theaters being super expensive, and streaming on huge TV’s making it easy to wait a few weeks… it was a particularly self-destructive era for so many studios to allow quality to drop and to deliberately antagonize the fans. It is an era when good PR and top-notch quality should have been seen as requirements for survival… and it mostly isn’t. But then we get labors of love on TH-cam, and we remember that creative people who love what we love still exist. They just mostly don’t hold power in major studios
The Drinker does it AGAIN!! Fantastic video, everyone! Let's do this again sometime. I've always wanted someone to make Resident Evil movies that followed the individual character arcs from the games' multiple play throughs. I would LOVE that.
This is an awesome clash of TH-cam personalities! JJ from RoE, the OG RE cast all hosted by the Drinker himself!? Haha my brain short-circuited watching this stream lol. All big fans of everybody’s channel
I love the way Wesker in the original screamed "Stop it! Don't Open That Door!" and "No! Don't Come This Way! NOOO!" (when the Tyrant turned on him) because it showed that before he became a supervillain, he was still a human being who was as scared almost to death as the rest of the team despite being an arrogant and deadly psychopath.
This is awesome. I started with the remake of RE1 for the gamecube, been in love ever since. Really hope that the Drinker can get Jill to join in. I appreciate the desire for privacy, though I know she'd be welcomed with open arms!
Great episode Drinker lad! Im already a follower of both ROE & Lexonal channel, have been for years. I can’t wait for the Keepers diary tonight. Feels like forever waiting for this gem to drop and now it’s finally here.
The first Resident Evil was THE game for me. It was only out a month or so when I picked it up at the mall. It was the longbox version. That opening! Such a great game. My brother and I would play it. So many memories. RE2 is great, but it doesn't top RE1 for me. I remember seeing the uncut opening intro when my friend picked up the PC version. So awesome to see original Chris and the voice of Wesker. Thanks for this, Drinker.
I agree mate, resident evil 1 was the don of the resident evil series. At first i thought resident evil 2 was a disappointment, but all these years later it really does stand the test of time. The first one was where it all began though and i will never forget the first time i laid eyes on the game and the impression it left on me as a kid.

Pablo Kuntz (OG Wesker) is great, and he also loves swords like SHAD! His son's channel Lexonal is a must-see, for all RE gameplays! It's sad we never got a movie made by real fans, or the George Romero version, that was cooking back in the 1990's. And we may never know Jill's voice actress, or find Inezh (the FMV version from RE 1) again.
What great guests, this was a blast to watch! And as far as fan projects go, Residence of Evil was a delight, always glad to see content do its best to faithfully represent the source material.
