    Oasis was one of those bands that were better live , They always had trouble capturing their sound on their albums. Their first album was mixed countless times because the band weren't happy. They were one of the best pub bands of their time, High energy and just raw rock 'n' roll power. Lovely reaction as always man. ✌

    I’m a huge oasis fan this was a very fair reaction. I know a lot of people hate the mix, I personally like the sound but I get it. I will say they are unreal live and I think they’re songs work a lot better live. Thanks for the reaction 👍

    I'm an Oasis fan but your analysis wasn't disrespectful at all. It was your honest opinion. I think you didn't hurt anybody with it. Great video thumbs up.

    Owen Morris (producer of the album) coined the term, brickwalling for this record and their debut, with every part of the mix turned up as high as it could go. The result was that in pubs and clubs across the globe, on jukeboxes etc, Oasis always were the loudest songs played.

    What you have to remember was that this was rock music for people who had grown up with rave culture, music getting faster and faster and more dense, and so Oasis was the first rock music that appealed to that generation, where most sounded very sparse and boring. You're not wrong that it sounds very dated now; expect remixed albums to be released next year to capitalise on the tour.

    They are rock n roll as a live band though. Wtsmg was more of a pop album

    Thanks for doing this, the album that shaped my childhood. It's only watching people react recently that I've noted the production issue. They were fantastic live.

    Definitely Maybe their debut album much better IMO. Be Here Now the 3rd album is gloriously overblown. Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, 4th album is the come down album that has some gems. Heathen Chemistry, Dont Believe The Truth and Dig Out Your Soul all have great moments but Oasis are at their best live.

    your listening to the latest remastering, it sucks the soul out of the album. listen to the normal versions man tape of course is what i grew up with lol peace and love from ireland. these new remastered things are soo frustrating, and i agree they are super compressed

      The originals really aren’t that different mate, those first 3 are all famously horribly mixed, Owen Morris and Noel have admitted it multiple times. Definitely maybe is the best of those first 3 as there weren’t as many guitar tracks being overdubbed

    Noel himself hates the production on this tbf. Be interesting if he could oversee his own mix.

    what i notice in musicians and music fans, is oasis songs are great and noel is an amazing writer, the bsides to the singles are even better see THE MASTERPLAN. but too many people into heavy/pop/rnb/70s hard rock music in my opinion accept the song is shit, itl repeat but the drum solo at 8minutes in with the lead guitar part mixing and mastering amplify certain notes and various instruments and so suddenly its a cool song/band. oasis are the greatest english band since the beatles and just go check them up. 2009 was hell mj died oasis broke up lol

  • @willmarlow97
    @willmarlow97 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yeah the producer himself has admitted in hindsight the first 3 albums are pretty badly mixed. Pretty sure those albums were responsible for the loudness wars, as the aim was to just brick wall the mix so they would be the loudest songs coming out the dukebox in pubs. That and replicating the energy of their live shows which were always full on.
