A Horn section to die for. Simply breathtaking, pun intended.
I always come back to this because this is literally the best group of horns that could be put together!
What a joy by Schumann and such wonderful horn playing,
They are all fabulous. Mr. Baborek is phenomenal. Together they are just amazing.
The strongest Berlin Horn quartet of last 100 years. So pity this group have not played together for long.

Dude I think they are the PLAYERS in the Berlin orchestra. Like they’re the usual French horn players, they’re members. At least I’m sure I’ve seen Baborak in the French horn section before. But yes they are great 😍
@@Berny27 Baborak was a Berlin phil member from 2002 to 2011, he's not anymore ... though he might still play with them sometimes of course, he's a freelancer now

I always thought that baborak has a more soloistic approach to the french horn than dohr, but the latter is more suitable inside the orchestra (in term of quality and weight of sound, articulation, mode,...). In my opinion dohr is very similar to clevenger, while baborak is a special case
agreed, baborak doesn't fit well into mahler, bruckner, etc., his sound is too pure and clean, but in mozart and webers concertos he dominates all others
RC Buggies True, baborak's sound is more "classical" than "romantic", in the sense that he plays french horn more like a string instrument (pizzicato, middle-east european style) than a brass instrument (big sound that wires with the others)

the first horn part sounds impossibly difficult. are all four parts difficult? can you get away with an average player on the 4th part? as a violinist, i've always wanted to play this, but i've never been in an orchestra good enough to have 4 great horns.
each part is uniquely challenging. the first part requires a strong control of the upper register as well as technical ability, while the bottom part requires strong technical ability in the low register of the horn. each part certainly requires plenty of practice
@@NoahCrawfordpostsband you could say the 3rd horn part is the least challenging. But then again, i heard many versions, in some of them the 3rd horn gets to play 1st horn parts in the second movement.

The greatest hornist living, Radek Baborak, is performing, and you're sharing only releasing 2:30 of this piece for humanity. Shame, shame, shame.
It's like seeing the Chicago Bulls playing in the NBA finals and you only show 2:30 of the game missing Michael Jordan's greatest slam. It's like seeing the legendary Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pelé, World Player of the Century, on the field and you only show 2:30 of the game, missing all his goals. It's like knowing Halley's Comet is soaring in the heavens as it passing by planet Earth again after 75 years, and you show a close up for 2:30.
We have a Joseph Leutgeb and we are shown 2:30. I don't have enough shakes in my head to give.

What's about Stefan Dohr? I think that there is no true King of the horn. Because everyone of them has other incredible skill and flaws...
