It was mentioned in an interview that the kid had watched Deadpool a lot and that's how he was able to pull off the Reynolds interpretation. He aced it! I was expecting it to be a good time but this could've worked on the big screen if they put more to the VFX. Zoe was excellent considering the screen time. And Jennifer is a great mom

There is sooo many wonderful Marvel references ("multiverse?" / "you watch too many movies"), but a cool non-Marvel one is that Jen and Mark already acted together in their own timey flick, 13 Going On 30.
The final part with the kid hugging his mom got me emotional and it’s deep because Ryan told the kid to hug his mom for him. We can only imagine if you don’t hug your mom for the last time and then the pain you feel emotionally for at least saying I love you or a hug never happens? It’s great to say I love you or give them a hug and cherish everyday with them.
Working on this movie was so much fun (I'm one of the extras in the corner of the classroom scene) and I'm glad it came out as well as it did, so much better than I expected
Dammit, a friggin kids movie got me in the feels. I lost my mom a little over 14 months ago, my father is a pos, and nothing makes sense anymore. Just double or triple down on the heartfelt scenes of DP2 and you're golden.
My dad died from covid 6 months ago and the line "in all of time I am your dad" I WEPT. such a powerful way to approach grief and acceptance of the way you dealt with trauma. Loved this movie for that view point.
@@bendover7841 I ask you the same. How? Compared to Zaldana, Garner has barely any material to work with. Just because she was a loving mother for 5 minutes doesn't make it great acting
I teared up a little at the end too haha. I knew you would too Greg, as someone who also lost my father at 3, that scene between the 3 of them at the end got me lol. So relatable.
The Christopher Lloyd special appearance about promoting Day light savings time was so awesome. It felt like I was watching Star Wars, Back to the Future, Timecop all rolled up into one storyline. Walker Scobell seriously is a scene stealer in every scene and it's a 13 going on 30 sequel lol.
@@LoganLawrence It's so funny because Shawn Levy didn't realize he was doing a 13 going on 30 reunion and the casting of Jen Garner happened all thanks to Shawn Levy's wife and his wife said that you are setting up a 13 on 30 reunion when Mark Ruffalo was cast as a Dad. Shawn's wife was 2 steps a head of the game.

Greg, your vulnerability and willingness to be authentic is so, so refreshing. It takes guts to be this open on the internet and trust that people will be deserving of that authenticity. You’re amazing.
Walker Scobell (young Adam) after they saw his audrion and stuff, they found out his favorite movie was Deadpool 2 so many times, that he could recite it word for word... thats why he was so good at mimicking Ryan Reynolds cadence and timing with his line deliveries.... this is Walkers very first movie, or anything on camera... its going to be amazing to see where that kid goes!
Right? I'm so anxious to see him as Percy Jackson in the Disney+ upcoming series. He'll make an amazing Percy omg. And it'll open so many door on acting for him
I’m surprised you referenced Flight of the Navigator! I loved that movie but not many people bring it up as a classic, which it is at least to me. And I do feel that this movie is similar. Also, I def agree that there were holes and weak points with the sci-fi storyline in terms of continuity, but I feel like this wasn’t a sci-go centric movie, but that the sci-fi was a vehicle to showcase the relationships and underlying themes of dealing with childhood trauma and self-loathing. Which was the best part.
This film was absolutely incredible when I saw it on release day and Walker is definitely variant of Ryan, especially when you counter into the fact that he recite lines from Deadpool 1&2 from memory
I saw this yesterday expecting it to be an enjoyable fun movie but it ended up being a great movie with a great story. My favorite line is when he says "30 years from now ...... " implying how much he regrets the things he did/said. That hits me but for the opposite (not relating to my parents) as regretting the things I didn't do or say in letting life pass by and I didn't realize it until I got sick and almost lost my life and how much I took for granted. I look back every day regretting how I went about things. I absolutely loved this movie.

Fantastic movie indeed, with plenty of genuine feels. And watching Greg reacting to this and “talking” to his younger self at the end felt extra special, especially after I’d just watched Jaby posted family videos of him and baby Greg!
You mentioned back to the future in the scene with the mum. I like the not so subtle nod to the name of the mall (twin pine/lone pine) in back to the future when young and old Adam talks outside the motel at Pine ridge.
I've watched this with my kids a few times and they always give me and their mom a hug afterword through tears. Such a good movie. Also, I was hoping to see your reaction to young Adam saying "superhero landing" when he landed with the "light saber" towards the end.

It was amazing! I loved it it was funny, it had action and the deeper emotional aspects of it was just perfect. I don’t have a father and so that really hit me.
Just watched this movie and I cried a lot. I was pleasantly suprised. Did not know what to expect. Really loved it, cool action, fast passing, good dialoog and actors. The emotional scenes really hit me.
This movie was exactly what I needed exactly at the right time. I’m sure every man can relate to this film on so many levels, but especially those whom lost their father at an early age. This movie made me realize how much more I need to love and appreciate my mom while also letting me let go of all the pent up anger towards my father. This is why movies are my favorite thing in the world because films like this make me feel better and gives me hope.
Really enjoyed this movie as a fun badass time travel family film. Walker scobell did a absolute glorious great job to portray a young Ryan Reynolds in a very practical way. Ryan Reynolds still be the best thing to be so funny, and with the mix of him being so badass with his action with the lightsaber bo staff.
The word toxic is so over/miss used, it is not toxic for a parent to let the kid know when they are being cruel. How you tell them matters, but this kid clearly responds to blunt honestly. That actor, Walker Scobell, is amazing. He plays a young Ryan Reynolds so well.
So i recently became a Patreon member, and this was the first watch along I did. I had an absolute blast, watching this film alongside with those guys made this experience unforgettable. Ive subscirded to Patreons before but, The Reel Rejects is by far my favorite. Wether we were crying, or laughing, the community as a whole made me feel like we were all in a theatre.....simply enjoying a movie.
Free Guy was fun, but this was much better! The performances were top tier and the story was really heartfelt. Every character stole the show, maybe with the exception of the villain which well... they're bound to suck anyway. The cheesy moments weren't overplayed for the most part, but because the actors were so good, they really pulled at the heartstrings. Also, really cool how they show the passing of time making you stronger, faster, but it also the stuff you've passed through can color your memories and how you see your past. Time can wear you down. You can become sharper in your field, but lose the bigger picture. Life takes a toll on everyone.
Makes sense why Shawn Levy was chosen as the director for Deadpool 3 in the MCU. Honestly, this movie is like a tip of the iceberg for Deadpool 3 except it’s clean.
This was such a good movie and it really did have everything. Walker Scobell was the perfect person to play a young Ryan Reynolds, he nailed his mannerisms to a tee! The scene of them playing catch at the end really got me good. Very touching! I was so upset though that Mark Ruffalo's character wasn't there in the future. I thought for sure that Sorian had him killed in that auto accident, which would've never happened since she was killed.
I think my favorite scene in the movie might just be the scene at the bar between Adam and his mom. So touching. They're relationship reminds me a lot of me and my mom. Respect your mothers.
What if this movie is technically the sequel to 13 Going On 30? Hear me out on this though... in my own head canon, Jennifer Garner's character was the original time traveler, and now her kid is one as well, just in a different way. I think Mark Ruffalo's character was so interested in how time travel could have worked for her before that he began learning the physics needed to develop it years later. Due to the sensitive nature of his work, he and his wife had to move to the middle of nowhere and change their names, so that's why they're not the same as before. So the sequel is essentially 40 going on 13 for Adam.
I finally watched it last night so I'm now watching this. The kid was soooo good! Hard to believe this was his first acting gig; I hope we see him in many more things. Also I did not expect to cry so much. Beautiful story
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who was emotional through this. I lost my dad in 2006. I read a totally mean review of the whole movie and I was like it's a family film bro like chill, it seemed over the top.
What a film! I watched it last night and instantly went on TH-cam afterwards to see if you’d done a reaction to it! Genuinely don’t know how many times I balled my eyes out watching this and how many times it just hit home out of the blue. Definitely teared up a lot watching the reaction too guys - awesome job🙌🏻
I watched this last night. Really enjoyed it. More heartfelt than I thought. Maybe I enjoyed it more then Free Guy. I don’t know though, the music was better in Free Guy but I enjoyed the emotional moments here more. Really happy Levey is directing Deadpool 3 I think he will make a great film.
I’m actually kinda mad that none of the other TH-cam reactors come close to getting the movie like you guys do. It’s honestly not getting the praise that it should. It literally had everything for me.
I did not expect to get emotional watching this film. And it was doubley emotion because my 4 year old daughter feel asleep on me while we were watching it.
Video going around of walker doing a Deadpool monologue during the filming of the Adam project. Pretty sure that was also his audition, so he just has it and does it from time to time lol
I love this movie so much for all the reasons. Bonus I’ve been to all the shooting locations on my spare time. Shoutout to the Greater Vancouver BC area!!

This movie made me realize how much more I need to love and appreciate my mom while also letting me let go of all the pent up anger towards my father. This is why movies are my favorite thing in the world because films like this make me feel better and gives me hope.
Your reactions guys is the only thing that managed to make this movie even better than it already is
Agreed 100%❤
That moment when they brought back Mark Ruffallo and Jennifer Garner for another movie that travels through time. 13 Going on 30 the sequel?! LOL!
I love that Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner came back together for a movie. I saw it as them going from "13 going on 30" to this movie lol
Very thoroughly enjoyed this movie surprisingly. Made me think about what I’d do if I could go back and see my grandma one more time.
I fkin love Greg's reactions to emotional stuff like this, my favourite reactor on the platform for sure!
Haha it can be a bit cringe for me on playback however I do love a movie that can provide that catharsis
The word toxic is so over/miss used, it is not toxic for a parent to let the kid know when they are being cruel. How you tell them matters, but this kid clearly responds to blunt honestly. That actor, Walker Scobell, is amazing. He plays a young Ryan Reynolds so well.
It’s soooo good 😭😭😭
a Netflix movie that absolutely did not suck. That’s rare compared to their series
i absolutely loved this movie and can’t wait to see what shawn levy does with deadpool 3 now
So i recently became a Patreon member, and this was the first watch along I did.
Watched this movie with my mom last night safe to say we both teared up and loved it
This movie is so underrated.
Rewatched the movie with you guys. Thank you so much !
I think my favorite scene in the movie might just be the scene at the bar between Adam and his mom. So touching. They're relationship reminds me a lot of me and my mom. Respect your mothers.
Why do i have the feeling that Walker improvised the „Superherolanding“ Line just because of Ryans Look at him there
Great reaction guys. Saw the pic last night. Another very fine Ryan Reynolds film, please keep 'em coming. So refreshingly good. Thanks again guys.
This movie had me in tears
It is sooooooo good loved this movie and screw people who say Ryan Reynolds can't act
I haven’t been this wrecked in a movie in a long time…hit so close to home. Definitely recommend
Arshad 27 has the same voice as John!
Just finished watching this film really enjoyed it for a Netflix film and saw you guys video so might as well rewatch with yall lol
Saw your childhood videos with your brother in jaby koay's channel......man you are soooo 🥰🥰
Thats what I thought
@@Disney65Fan i told my husband this too!!!
You should also watch my review for the adam project BRAH
I finally watched it last night so I'm now watching this. The kid was soooo good! Hard to believe this was his first acting gig; I hope we see him in many more things. Also I did not expect to cry so much. Beautiful story
This is my favourite channel on TH-cam haha. Absolutely love your reactions!!!
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who was emotional through this. I lost my dad in 2006. I read a totally mean review of the whole movie and I was like it's a family film bro like chill, it seemed over the top.
I was a mess at multiple parts of this movie but that hug at the end, I lost it 🥹
Watched the whole movie and then watched this reaction because that's how much I enjoy it. Definitely one of my favorite movies in a long time.
Fun fact: Mark and Ryan are only 9 years yrs Apart Mark(1965) ,Ryan (1976) and they are playing father and son.
“Invited me over to cry for half an hour” lmao 😂
There's a GREAT clip of that kid doing a Deadpool impression on Ryan's channel. It was made during the filming of this movie.
I loved the movie. It was really entertaining. Ryan and the kid have great chemistry. And tbh it was freaky to see how convincing the kid was.
First Encanto, then Adam project. I am not crying. You are.
I love how shawn can brings the 80s feelings in all of his movies
Dang! That flight sequence-actually all of the flying older Adam did-redeemed the Hal Jordan fighter pilot side of the Green Lantern role Ryan Reynolds played before. Redemption!
love you guys' reaction. it is a good movie. entertaining, funny, yet heartfelt.
