This song was dedicated to the memory of Latasha Harlins . She was a child and shot and killed and her murder got no consequence. He openly stated it was for black women but like y’all said this applies to all women we create life just to be disrespected daily . Protect black women and protect ALL women !

His music was way ahead of his time, and money was not what was his motivation, but to be relevant across many generation. He paints a picture to all knowing that even as time pass and thing change, some things never change. His music will stand the test of time. And by any chance please try his music CHANGES, then see all that was then is still here and happening. he did all this when he was not even 20 years old.

DirtyFace-Capone not really. it’s a song that talks about the streets and crime. that is also a universal issue when you think about it. it’s just called ny state of mind cuz that’s where nas is from. both timeless classics tho. my all time fav rapper is pac by a long shot, but in terms of rap skill and ability, nas got him beat.

So you know Kendrick’s “Blacker the Berry” song doesn’t fully sample that line. He just says “the blacker the berry the sweeter the roots” he doesn’t say “the darker the flesh and the deeper the roots “ . I get your point though. No one can ever be PAC but I honestly think Kendrick is the modern day PAC . He’s insanely talented lyrically and he talks about powerful political issues and issues of race and racism . He even has an awesome song where he takes an unheard Pac interview and poses as the interviewer . It’s really great I love it

To be fair.....not my go to style of music.....but I listened. Beat was good....but to be honest, all I see in my head is Quill going for the Power Stone.

So many typecast rap as "thug" music although if you compare the lyrics of many songs from Pac, Kanye, and Kendrick to "rock" artists the message of the rap songs is so much more impactful. That said the style is for sure not for everyone. Stay safe!

I never heard this but I have to be honest. This is not my kind of music. It has a funky beat but no melody. I know the focus for your review is the lyrics as the artist is trying to convey a message. Both you Trey and your Mother gave well spoken commentary on your opinions of what the message was about. You understand the meaning. I focus more on melody, and this song didn't have it. In my opinion, this song does not represent the real art of music, but I know this style has become popular. Both of your ratings of 9.0 shows that people have different preferences in music. Forgive me, but I cannot rate the song.

When I listen to a pac song like Keep ya head up I’m nodding along not so much to the music but to what he’s saying. I love music that makes my heart ache and Pac does that for me. If I feel the world is weighing on my I’d listen to this because it feels like someone can understand without me having to explain it and that they’re encouraging me. I would listen to this for easy listening
